      I think it depends on how many people total are working there. Ours was so short staffed for a while and then they must have gotten more employees because everything is neat as can be. Before you had to look in the boxes to get stuff and things were just thrown everywhere.

      I agree! My DTs are super unorganized and never have anything in stock. We have 2 and it's a major hit or miss with them. The DGs are the same way, except for 1. Bc of COVID, they're having a hard time getting things in, but the people there are awesome and they are better kept and better stocked than the others.

    Am I the only one who gets a little sad when I hear about books being destroyed? 😿 But I still love your work! I think you're awesome and so I can make an exception for you. 🙂

    • @loominjeanie3391
      @loominjeanie3391 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adelia Y. No. I do too, I just couldn't destroy a book. I stupidly buy chipboard sheets but I buy really large A1 size sheets and cut them down so it works out cheaper than the pre-cut packs. Not that I mind anyone else doing it. Not at all.

    • @PaperTerrace
      @PaperTerrace  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Adelia Y. A lot of people get upset and I don't mean to make anyone sad! I go through soooo much chipboard when I use it because I make my covers very thick. I could maybe get one book cover from an a1 because of this. I don't exclusively use books but it does save me money and I'm making so many that I have to do what's cost effective. Also saves me time from cutting down and layering chipboard. These are books that have sat on the shelf for months and months with no one buying them. What good are they doing on the shelf? Maybe I'll change my mind if you guys explain why it's sad! I totally understand why it wouldn't be ideal to cut up a vintage book or something that's historical. I'm just using books that don't sell. (I do alter vintage books but I try and showcase them nicely. Same with readers digest - there are soooo many of them)

    • @loominjeanie3391
      @loominjeanie3391 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi, Just want to say that I absolutely did NOT intend for you to feel bad.Most of the old books (even new ones) end up in the landfill these days and to use them to make something instead is actually a very good idea and very sensible. Growing up reading and still loving to read nightly, just makes it a bit sad, that's all.
      Please, be assured that I meant nothing by saying so. You craft away hun, I'll be here cheering you on.xx

    • @FlaKNMB
      @FlaKNMB 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I have not been able to cut up vintage or antique books that are in excellent condition and I have mixed emotions about others doing it; however, it wouldn't bother me one bit to destroy a new book from Dollar Tree. Most of them are at the end of their run, very few people are interested in buying them anymore, there are millions of copies available throughout the world, etc.

      The same with my Dollar Trees, SecondHand Crafter. I did go to a Tuesday Morning for the first time a couple of weeks ago, though, and the napkins they had were awesome. Interesting. Journaling hasn't to be expensive and in that kind of shops you can find stuff but were I live we have similar €uro shops but non has such an amount of supplies and we mostly buy stuff from book stores and craft shops so journaling isn't so cheap but a careful searching is always needed in order to keep things simple and afford it.
    Just an observation : I would buy a new book and especially books like the one you show about Nelson Mandela in order to journal, it's better to go in a thrift shop and buy non historical books or important books of literature (people must read the), better use garden books, cheap love stories, with recipes etc.

      Hi Jessica, thanks for replying. And thanks for your kind words.
      I asked about Alexander because it's very difficult to know the age of youngsters from the camera which makes them look older and bigger. lol. For five though, I would say he's advanced, very clever talking to the camera.He's really cute! I'm sure I will love your channel, I've recently bought a Happy planner and a La De Dah creative journal. Both as yet untouched. lol. I'm looking for ways to learn how to begin.
      Anyway, Thanks again.x

      I thought so too. I would never have thought to use some of the things she was showing us. This is awesome!
