Ready for the Dollar Tree Junk Journal Challenge? Feel free to take the challenge anytime but if you would like to enter the giveaway….
1. Open to everyone!
2. Ends October 7th, 2017
you can do 1/2 things….
3. Create a Junk journal using mostly dollar tree / under $15. Share a photo or video on one of my social media below or email.
4. Share my Video or talk about the challenge and share THIS video link on IG, Facebook, twitter, or youtube.
5. Then, you MUST come back and comment telling me which you did and where you shared. THIS is your entry, so you must do this part. I will be checking to make sure you shared.

I have been trying to grasp the concept of how to start making a junk journal for a few years and it wasnt until I watched this video that I FINALLY understand how to begin putting it together!!! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!

I like how you sewed the signatures to the backing, then glued to book cover. I haven't seen it done like that before!
Jessica, I came across your channel a few months ago. I had been searching for some sort of scrapbook type craft. Scrapbooking was too stressful for me (I'm a perfectionist). Watching your videos, I thought, "OMGosh! This is exactly what I want to do!" This challenge was my very first junk journal. It was a great way to learn and exercise my creativity. I asked my hubby's opinion on some things and he helped me with some hot gluing. He's really happy that I finally took the plunge to make one and that I enjoyed it so much. I have supplies for several Botanical, Autumn/Gratitude and December Daily journals that I've collected. I've just been too nervous to start. I'm excited now to assemble those other journals now. I shared my pics on instagram. (I still plan to make a video flip through at some point) Thank you for your inspiration, help and encouragement!! ❤️
I have watched many journal workshops. I just discovered yours. You are the very best teacher I have encountered in the 3 years I have been journaling! This is the first time I have commented on a video. Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to see what you are doing in 2018.

I don't know if you will see this message because the video is so old. I would love it if you would do another one of these in the new year! That would be awesome! I LOVE that I am financially resourceful in my junk journal I use more personal ephemera and it makes it more special to me anyway. I know everyone is different. I am getting ready to do my first Golden Book so I wanted to check out your binding. Your journals are always perfect!

i love this idea. i'm going to make a journal with $15 of stuff from the dollar tree. even though i'm like 2 years late in this challenge, i'm still going to do it and post a video on my channel and credit you in it. i've watched so much of your content and i love it. i also am going to make another one but only using $15 of dollar tree stuff that i'm going to have my mom choose for me!

I started this today, boy, this is really a challenge! It's a lot more challenging to create a journal when I can't use the papers, digitals, cardstock, etc I normally use. You're really making me think! lol I shared your challenge on Instagream (where I first saw it), JJJ Chat group on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and I made a VR with a link to this video and just posted it on TH-cam. I hope you get a lot of entries, and good luck to all who do! Debbie :)
I think you missed my videos because I don't see them on your playlist? I did the VR as mentioned here, and I've since done a video showing the completed journal. That was harder to make than I thought it would be! It was tough remembering to only use things from the dollar tree lol.
I missed out on this, and I hope you do it again, I would love to give it a try. How fun

what kind of paper did you use for pages....copy paper or heavier?
I did mine...oddly. I created a December Daily Dollar Tree Challenge Junk Journal, so mine is all done as a Christmas journal, and I am using it to enter my December Daily Prompts.

would gorilla glue be a good glue instead of hot glue? I tried using crazy glue on fabric once and it got hot and smoked!

Is it a junk journal if it's all stuff that you have to buy first to make it? I always wondered this because I see a lot of scrapbookers making junk journals with all brand new things. For myself I have a hard time using anything non-archival if I intend to sell/give it away, especially if I'm using all new supplies.
Belinda Short Nope you can use stuff you already have! I'm in the middle of gathering stuff together to make a new journal and I'm only using supplies I already have, not gonna spend a dime :)
