it probably is a 3.25" barrel, James. You measure barrels from the breach face to the end. In other words, put it all back together, stick a pencil down the barrel (with the breech closed), mark the end of the barrel on the pencil, and then measure that distance. That is the by the book way to measure a barrel, and i bet anything that it being a 1911 barrel that it doesn't fully support the case, which would mean that where you measured from doesn't touch the breech face. Sorry to nerd it up in the comment section. Carry on, gents.
Don't you dare apologize. Awesome comment. I owe the apology as it looks like the barrel is closer to 3.23". Photos: imgur.com/a/GJPrqPq Point still stands in that the barrel itself is substantially shorter than the G19, but my measurements in the video are accordingly 2/10ths of an inch off if this is correct.
Oh for sure. That thing looks amazing, I would just have a hard time carrying a $1,000 gun. I don’t know if the risk in having to give it up in the event something happened versus the odds of it making a difference in winning the fight would be justified. By the way I’ve still got the dollar dollar bill y’all gripped hi point that you gave me. I’d say hit me up if you want to grab a beer next time your in town but seeing as how the covid has messed everything up guess that’s not gonna happen. (I’m Corey btw if you haven’t figured it out yet). Take care James
For some reason Glock is through the roof. I saw a used g26 gen 5 at a pawn shop for $799.. I went to sportsman’s and snagged a p365 for $499. Cheaper and blows Glock out of the water in every way..
very nice piece and accurate. I guess it comes down to loving 1911/2011’s and can you pay the price. I like my government style 1911 but carry a Shield.

@@josefstrauss9017 I have a 4516, and carried a 1911 on duty (and the 4516 while off-duty) for years....they aren't the same platform although both are excellent firearms. It does count as a very, very cool handgun!
That is NOT a 1911. It’s a 2011. Huge difference. He wouldn’t consider that gun if it were a 1911 with 7-8 round capacity. Calling this gun a 1911 is like calling the Shelby Cobra an AC Ace. Is the newer, better one, based on the older one? Sure. But it’s not the same.
The problem is when you have guys growing up being only exposed to handguns like the Glock your going to have them bad mouthing the 1911. But the one thing that’s clearly evident is the 1911 has the best trigger around and the gun is extremely fast and accurate. Most of the 1911’s faults come from the magazines even the stock Colt mags are junk. If you buy high quality mags like Cobra mags you will never have a reliability problem even with series 70’s and 80’s guns. There’s a reason why 20 plus different manufacturers make the 1911 and 2011.
Glock fans have never shot anything else because a Glock is all they could afford. Every serious operator or ex-operator I've talked to carries a 1911 for fast and accurate shooting. No glocks.
One of my gun buddies saw your video on the BUL SAS and he bought one. I know we've put at least 2000 rounds through it and it's been killer. It's a awesome hand gun! He carries it a lot. He's a Glock and Springfield XD fan and he was blown away by the accuracy and trigger pull of this outstanding firearm. I'm currently saving up the cash to buy one myself. Thanks for the great videos.
Could someone explain to me the “hate” or whatever you want to call it for XD pistols? Garand Thumb is always blasting them too. I think it’s funny and owned an XD before but I still can’t figure out what all the satire is about. 🤷🏻♂️
In my experience, almost all 1911 issues are due to an extractor not being “tight” enough. Most 1911s I see have an extractor tuned way too loose, even out of the box.
The best part of the review is acting as if a Glock (Austrian for Hi Point) has ANYTHING on this weapon. Maybe now that Mr. Glock has moved on they can come up with something that does more than “going bang every time”, like improving ergonomics, improving recoil mitigation, like improving questionable tolerances, like improving accuracy, etc etc etc.
Spoke to Ben at Bul Armory and that guy is amazing! Staying up til 4:30 am in Israel to answer questions and take orders. WOW. He says this video has him working overtime. Well done James & TFB!

I carry the Browning 1911-380, 3.625", and I love it. Accurate, small, nice trigger, easy safety, and at 45 ft, my grouping is always nice. I know people don't like 380's, the browning court, but there are some really good defensive rounds for it.
You know, it seems like you see so many different guns, it's really hard to make you excited, or even impressed. Kind of speaks volumes when you are eager to show us something.
I am a 1911 guy. I have always loved them more than any. BUT I do appreciate my Glocks ALOT (especially P80 design) for everyday carry alittle more. I have not seen this gun until now so I’m pretty stoked and I hope I find one.
"We were trying to get this thing to jam" Well James, It is a 1911, and contrary to what you may think it is one of the most reliable platforms ever built. Still waiting on my 400 dollar 1911 to jam
What is a good 1911 for a first time pistol buyer who is willing to spend up to $600? That would be me btw. I want something reliable and on the more compact size but still packs a punch.
@@CantTreadOnMe You should buy a Glock for sure, it's just too damn good to turn down for the price too. Also aftermarket parts are cheap and available everywhere, so you can experiment with it. Personally though, I bought a 22 for my first handgun. I practiced my grip, trigger, and aim. Just go for a glock or a Smith & Wesson.
I've been into 1911's since I was a kid. My command in the service was one of the last hold outs that still used the 1911. After leaving the service I bought a lightweight commander and didn't care much for how it shot. Then I bought a "enhanced combat commander" and I've used it for concealed carry for around 30 yrs now. I have no idea how much ammo I've ran through it and I honestly don't really recall it ever have any kind of misfeed. So either I am very lucky, or 1911's are more reliable than James claims in the video. Yes, there are some drawbacks to carrying a 1911. However, the trigger and the way the gun shoots is my primary reason for carrying it. I have been keeping my eye out for an affordable (Relatively speaking) double stack 9mm single action. Maybe this is the gun I've been waiting for.
Reminds me of the old Para Ordnance Warthogs. 1911s and 2011s are just a joy to shoot. I used to carry a Kimber Ultra Carry 2. It still shoots amazing and has never had so much as a hiccup with over 10k rounds. My only complaint would be the tritium sights are starting to not be as luminescent (about 20yrs old) and .45 is stupid expensive to shoot. Glock has never been my brand of choice. Always been partial to CZ, Sig, Walther and H&K.
Wow, if the price was lower, that would be a 1911/2011 I would carry based on your review, and positive feedback from future range reviews. Damn nice video, with a sexy little gun!
Yeah man when he said the MSRP I was like "aaaaand I'm out." No point in spending 3-5 times more money on a carry gun that doesn't really do anything better than the polymer wonder 9's.

Good review. I had a Bul double-stack years ago and the first time I fired it, all the bullets went into the same hole. I changed point of aim several inches to the left to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.
I think the reality of carrying a 1911 is accepting that you aren’t [insert movie or war hero of choice here] - I often carry my single stack .45 1911, or my Kahr K40, wait for it... without any reloads. I don’t live in Chicago or Compton. It’s not a high crime area, I’ve carried for nearly a decade and only ever drawn down on someone on two occasions and never had to fire a shot. If I wind up in a situation where I need a full size high capacity optic mounted laser and flashlight equipped combat/competition firearm with two reloads and somewhere around 50 rounds of ammo.... there have been some eyebrow cocking life decisions made that led to that point. In my day to day travels the comfort and concealability of a single stack firearm inside the waistband simply cannot be beat. And at 200+ lbs, I’m not crying about a few extra ounces for a metal frame that I won’t notice until it’s in my hand contributing to a smoother, better, more accurate shooting experience. I’m no boomer, but with a bum knee, and a love for my 1911, I’ll happily sit on a porch in a rocking chair with some Sweet tea enjoying the comfort of my EDC of choice keeping me company.
@@DSiren exactly in what world are 1911s unreliable? Dude does not have much experience with 1911s other than maybe cheap no names if he honestly believes 1911s are unreliable because I've never shot a 1911 that wasn't reliable amd same goes for every person I know
@@BIGSexy484 the parts have to be really far out of tolerance for a 1911 to be unreliable, yet some 2000s production 1911s are absolute garbage. Thing is, I'm pretty sure most of the time when you have an unreliable 1911 you can make it reliable by putting a couple thousand rounds through it lol.
@@DSiren yeah definitely or by upgrading mags. Most manufacturers also recommend at least a 500 rd break in too to solidify fit but even before breaking in I've had no failures whatsoever on my 1911s they're the most reliable guns I've shot.
@@BIGSexy484 It's a solid design. Just a shame it's single stack all the way down. Even just bumping capacity up to 10+1 rds would be a substantial improvement and make the choice much easier. Right now trigger safeties are a dealbreaker for me, so no glocks ever. 2011s are a bit overpriced for how few changes they had to make over the 1911A1. I'd understand 800-1200 for a time while you're trying to pay off redesign and the cost of new machine tools, but they're never going to get the purchase volume to become a carry staple with prices like that - which is a catch 22 since they need the purchase volume to reduce prices :/.
People keep bashing 1911 reliability... I don't find that to be a problem. I have two 1911s - one a government model, the other a Commander-length model - and either one will digest any loads I feed them, including any brand of JHPs, as well as handloaded lead semi-wadcutters, all day long without a hiccup. Is either one a good choice for CCW? Not really, but only because of weight. I have no philosophical object to Glocks, but I do get a little tired of people bowing and scraping at the altar of The Plastic Pistol. Glocks are good guns, obviously, especially for CCW, but that doesn't mean a 1911 is bad choice...
Another well balanced and fair review from James. I like that a lot. When the jokes are put aside and something objectively good (or bad) shows up this guy tells the truth. That's all we really want.
In all seriousness, how the hell does James manage to get every 1911 he touches to be unreliable? I find that very hard to believe. I’ve owned a pretty cheap hunk of steel (Taurus) and not once did it ever malfunction more than one time. Used cheap steel cased ammunition on a cold February morning at 5°, one stovepipe. That’s it. Perhaps we need to consider operator error?
@@MightyMaynes No matter what gun you have you need to run it to malfunction. I like that you added the caveat "more than once at a time" That whole "It never malfunctioned on me" shit makes me angry lol.
@@MightyMaynes stovepipes usually are caused by an undertensioned extractor. They need to be tuned properly, and the combination of crap metal and cost cutting makes this common.
I can explain this feeling you have... you're not ready for a nursing home quite yet. Guns like a Glock or M&P are great, but they are like an appliance. I mean, my toaster oven works like a champ and does what I need it to do, but I have no love for it. A 1911 has a soul. You will come to love it. When you hold it, it holds you right back. You can stick it in your waistband and take out the trash... not gonna shoot yourself when you have the thumb AND grip safeties. Once you carry it a while it will become your emotional support pistol. I'm telling you... you'll see... It's that 1911 thing. There is a reason why the old guys love those things. The pistol has CHARACTER.
Two problems with that: 1) Archer carries a Walther PPK. The character would rather not deal with an overrated piece of plastic with an awful trigger. 2) James already auditioned and his Glock fired glitter, making him entirely too ghey: th-cam.com/video/ZFSLWem2ft4/w-d-xo.html
Great review of a great looking gun. I know it makes more sense to purchase a Glock considering both guns perform pretty much the same. But this gun isn't about just the way it performs in the field. This gun is also about quality craftsmanship and great looking aesthetics. This is the kind of gun you buy when you want to treat yourself to something nice and splurge a little. I'll be searching for this gun locally so I can feel it in the hand before buying. But if I like what I see I won't hesitate to purchase as my next carry.
What you need to understand is you shouldn’t have to wonder if your gun will go boom when you need it to. Hoping that a firearm won’t jam (like 1911s do) hasn’t proven reliable enough. We’re not comparing when your daddy had one while in the military. They also had big ole flaps over the holsters back then.. Times change….
@@mrsincere4640 I agree, and I would never put a gun in my holster that has not sent plenty of lead down range and been thoroughly put through its paces by me. I know a few guys who carry 1911's and for them it is their gun of choice. I'm very aware of the reputation of 1911s jamming but at the same token I own a Kimber Micro Nine that has sent thousands of rounds down range without a hitch. I've even carried it on occasion. Generally, my edc is a striker fired Hellcat. I tell people shoot what's right for you. If it's what you like, it performs well, and it goes boom when you pull the trigger, then power to you.
James, I own quite a few 1911s and I've had nothing but good luck with mine. I can honestly say in the thousands of rounds thru all of them and have had next to nothing for issues. Hey James, a quick note on the slide release: JMB designed it to be hit with the support thumb after inserting the fresh mag. It's not meant to be hit with your firing hand, like most modern handguns.
@@jtinnac1895 look at a 1911. There's checkering/knurling on the top side of the slide release, it's put there to improve traction. It is absolutely intended to be used as a slide release, just not with the firing hand.
Being a 2011 you have to have some big ass mits to hit the slide stop with your firing hand. That is a common 2011 phenomenon. Most 2011's are used as competition guns and most of us have either a cut slide stop or non-lockback followers. Very few competitors utilizing it. With a 1911 and standard grip panels you can get your firing thumb on the pad of it.
That's a very pretty gun! Has the traditional 1911 silhouette, which is always cool, but has an updated modern/tactical aesthetic that doesn't take it too far and go into the mall ninja territory. Pretty neat.
I just started carrying my original Canadian Para Ordnance P12-45. Did the old "will it jam?" by adding some crappy steel case ball ammo. Flawless...many many mags later. I am sure you can relate....change guns like seasons for carrying. The Para is coming around for winter.

You make good points when you were talking negatively about John Mosses Browning's 1911 but it does not matter. No amount of opinion or articulation will every sway many grown up men who think for themselves and know they simply shoot no better with any other decent caliber handgun. Shot placement is one important factor. I have a door in my mancave with dirty bird targets I have shot for all my carry guns and other than my MP22 target the 1911 target is the tightest grouped target. Also the first big caliber other than the 44 magnum 629 my father too me shooting with was a colt 70 series so my hand recognizes it. Capacity is a thing that people consider way too much for self defense these days though it could be a factor in "multiple" shooters scenario's I assure you Guadalcanal had plenty of "Multiple shooters" the Marines had to deal with and it was good enough for those awesome men so it's good enough for me.
Love it, as a long time 1911 fan it is nice to hear some positive reviews. I dont have any reliability issues with any of mine, and they are all accurate for me. DeWars and ensure LMAO
I have to admit this is funny. But to be fair the Glock and a 1911 (or 2011) have different grip styles. It’s normal to have issues back to back. By the way, I use Wilson Combat magazines in my 1911s. A quality mag solves 99% of feed issues in QUALITY guns- Colt, Springfield, S&W, Dan Wesson and etc. that proprietary magazine guarantees reliable feeding.
A 1911 is as good as its owner and his training. However, to protect your home, get a short barrel shot gun. NEVER aim just point and shoot. You will have to use spackling to fill in the holes in the wall

Having a 1911 that shoots 9mm ammo is like putting a Civic engine in a Ferrari. A fine 1911 in .45 ACP is about as good as it gets. I’m glad I’m old enough to have learned on the great handguns!
I prefer the "heavy" 1911, to me glocks just feel like a garbage gun about to break. Even though I've seen all the torture test they survive I just don't like them. Plus their ugly
Damn! Your wife said it was one of the ugliest guns she'd ever seen? Uglier than a Glock? Almost no handgun is uglier than a Glock. That said, I don't like the sights. I prefer 3-dot Trijicon sights. But maybe that's just me

The perfection tagline is stupid, yes. But for most shooters you don't really *need* to do anything to a glock. At the price point it should come with more durable sights, but that's it.
Blake Davis if they are so perfect why is it so hard to find one that something on it hasn’t been changed. Nothing wrong with a Glock but they malfunction also. Funny limp wrist was never a thing until the advent of the Glock!

To be clear, I don't like glocks either. They just said this gun was meant to compete with Glock. Typically in a free(ish) market, in order to compete with a product, you need to make a better one, at a similar price point. This $1300 2011 is one of those things.
The higher capacity is what would sell it for me. That's one of my biggest "no thank you" of a 1911. I'm surprised no one has commercially jumped on this yet. It's only custom shops most of the time that do it.
I’ve had more malfunctions from my G17 than any of my 1911’s. Starting from a highly customized Colt Gold Cup for bullseye shooting. An unmodified Gold cup I carried in South America as a duty gun. A Commander that I used as a CC gun until I used it in a defensive situation and it got “lost” by the sheriff’s department. A Commander to replace that, a Kimber PRo Carry, and a variety of Springfields... I shot a range rental SA EMP and it was better at 5 7 10 and 15 yards than either my 17 or 19 both having red dots.
High powers are awesome. In fact thanks to that gun we have double stacked handguns. But that thing is just as big n heavy as a 1911 if not more due to 18 round capacity. I love 1911. I love High Powers. That price tag though hurts my soul
@@nathanarterberry8001 get a Kareen or a Regal. Sub $500 price tag and the shoot just as good as the OG Brownings. The Regal is honestly one of the best steel frame guns for the price. Super nice. I understand that lower round count and weight aren’t in the 1911s favor. But In my opinion, most people can shoot even cheap 1911s out the box much better than any polymer gun. The trigger pull on even low end 1911s is lighter and crisper than most other guns. Hands down, I always shoot better with my 1911s. I have the Springfield micro 1911, but I generally carry my XDS 9mm most days. One of the main reasons being that I don’t feel nearly as bad when I drop or dirty up a polymer gun. But I WILL ALWAYS love the 1911 for it’s shooting characteristics.
Nelson R they were bought by the same group that owns remington and liquidated. I have a Para .45 LDA and it is a great little gun, not a 1911 except in looks, but a great shooter that has nothing to envy from the single action trigger.
If it points better for you and you spend more time at the range with it, it's a better gun for you. I started using a recover when I started relating because my range had a "if it hits the ground, it's ours" policy, but after using one for a while and practicing with the da trigger more, i ended up preferring revolvers for shooting handling and getting into big bore and sa hunting revolvers. Angie and trigger each just works better for me, the sa triggers on a tuned rev will beat what you can do on an auto, and it keeps the brass with you for reloading. Side benefit is the much greater leeway when you're making particularly hot loads as you can get face erosion and cutting where you might have gotten a chamber failure instead on an auto. Accuracy is another thing i like better, I'm confident in my hunting revolvers at 200yrds and sometimes more, can't say the same with any auto pistol I've tried.

What were you expecting? The amount of engineering and workmanship that went into this thing is pretty spectacular. That being said, it's way out of my budget.. for now. What bothers me is the fact that it has proprietary magazines.
WW2Fanatic1000 yeah the proprietary mags thing is definitely a bummer. With a company like this you never know when these mags could dry up, plus I’m sure they cost an arm and a leg.
As a retired cop of 25 yrs, I carried several pistols in that time. I had never really wanted a 1911, but a local gun shop had a new Springfield 1911 a customer wanted to sell so he could buy a 40 cal Springfield which I was carrying. Short of the story, we traded even, including mags and holsters. I carried it three days and ordered a new XD in 40 and a new mag pouch and holster, never to desire another 1911 again. Shot pretty good, but was like hauling around a boat anchor on my hip.
Never had a jam with my 1943 colt us army .Steel case, brass case aluminum case all fed and ejected perfectly.maybe not a great carry piece but functioned flawlessly
^ I made that comment to sound cool and like I did it on purpose but I forgot to set the levels and I am a bad person for that. Guys, I am seriously so, so sorry :(
it probably is a 3.25" barrel, James.
Photos: imgur.com/a/GJPrqPq
Point still stands in that the barrel itself is substantially shorter than the G19, but my measurements in the video are accordingly 2/10ths of an inch off if this is correct.
Oh for sure. That thing looks amazing, I would just have a hard time carrying a $1,000 gun. I don’t know if the risk in having to give it up in the event something happened versus the odds of it making a difference in winning the fight would be justified.

I’d look into a Colt Lightweight Commander, great range toy and carry-able if you wish

I’m no boomer, but with a bum knee, and a love for my 1911, I’ll happily sit on a porch in a rocking chair with some

That’s what I was thinking . It’s liek retro futuristic/modern if that makes any sense
Well said.
I just started carrying my original Canadian Para Ordnance P12-45. Did the old "will it jam?" by adding some crappy steel case ball ammo. Flawless...many many mags later. I am sure you can relate....change guns like seasons for carrying. The Para is coming around for winter.
Watched 1:20mins and heard enough...
1911's have been around for a Very long time, there is a huge reason for that.
Also, there will always be people that for a number of reasons do not like the 1911 models and that is ok....But the 1911's will continue to be around again for a Very long time still 👍🇺🇸.
I conceal carry a RIA 1911 10mm "EDC" ,the weight doesn't take long to get use to and I never have any problems doing so.
Again, there will always be types of people that think that is crazy or impossible...So what...why would you care of what some say?...not me lol.
Do what is right for you,we are all different.Silly people will always have an opinion that has nothing to do with what you want or that feels right for you.Live by what feels right for you and Not by what Others say that you should do,you will be happier.👍😎🇺🇸.
I carry both the RIA CS 1911 Tactical, the RIA GI, and the RIA 38 snubby depending on how I'm dressed. I love Rock Island Armory.
What I could never understand about 1911s is how often people say their unreliable but the us miltary went through 2000 rounds with 0 malfunctions when they adopted it, was it the ammo?
Thank god for JM Browning. Ive heard non feed ramp 1911 can have trouble w hollow point. My modern smith and paras will feed anything. Just run 230 ball. Its what its made for. And works great in that form.
alligatorpear you can have a non hand fit 1911 and it will function better than the old ones the old ones sighs were terrible and the hand fit it’s not the best I’ll take any 1911 better than the old one
1911s at that time were designed for ball ammo...run a quality 1911 on ball you'll have no issues.
James: "there's a 1911 I like!"
The 1911: *a hammer-fired Glock 19*
ThatGuy67 The main advantage is the single action trigger.
😀😀😀😀😀
James needs to change his name to Jill.
I love the way he explained his way out of being “Glock 4 Life Sucka!”.
Don't be fooled by the Glocks that he's got, he's still Jimmy from the block.
Love it, as a long time 1911 fan it is nice to hear some positive reviews. I dont have any reliability issues with any of mine, and they are all accurate for me. DeWars and ensure LMAO
Remember that the CZ P01 alloy frame is around 600$ and it also has an excellent trigger as well.
@Derrick Flyr Didn't get that memo
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
1911 enthusiasts probably wouldn’t like the DA/SA
James at least you could have told us 4:16 NSFW.
James: the only person in the world that doesn’t want a 1911.
Doesn't want one, and can afford it.
I want ONE....but it'll cause a DIVORCE😳😳😒😒
A 1911 is as good as its owner and his training. However, to protect your home, get a short barrel shot gun. NEVER aim just point and shoot. You will have to use spackling to fill in the holes in the wall
Ugliest gun she's ever seen? Has she not see your glocks? Personally I think glocks are ugly af
I dont want one
Hate1911. Good. Leaves more for me. Been caring a 1911 since 1970. Still have good hips. LOL
Just went to their website to look for pricing. They rather you contact them. I tried to contact them but went no where. So that's a lost sale lol
Our website is under construction. Where did you try to reach us? you can email me directly at ben@bularmory.com and I'll help you with whatever you need.
i looked around on gun broker and it looks like your going to be spending around the $1500 - $2500 price range. so its a pricey boy.
@@longleaf1217 Try the new STIs 1699 new. Or I've found used from 1200-1600
Jp arms. It’s 1300. A little research never hurts
You all know of a carry 1911 style less then $700?
Having a 1911 that shoots 9mm ammo is like putting a Civic engine in a Ferrari. A fine 1911 in .45 ACP is about as good as it gets. I’m glad I’m old enough to have learned on the great handguns!
I love my full size Springfield 1911, never let me down!!! It is a lil heavy but I don’t mind.
@Daywalker 2018 I wonder when they say heavy? Heavier( not that heavy)helps my accuracy...thought that was EVERYONE.
I prefer the "heavy" 1911, to me glocks just feel like a garbage gun about to break. Even though I've seen all the torture test they survive I just don't like them. Plus their ugly
I'd say it's closer to two Glock 19s especially when you figure in the new sights you'll need to buy.
I am NOT into sub-compact 1911s and I am NOT into 9mm 1911s... But this cutie just tickled both of those itches I didn't know I had... Cool gun.
Damn! Your wife said it was one of the ugliest guns she'd ever seen? Uglier than a Glock? Almost no handgun is uglier than a Glock.
That said, I don't like the sights. I prefer 3-dot Trijicon sights. But maybe that's just me
Hi point? Or that single shot 9mm where the barrel threads off to reload
Highpoint is way uglier than a Glock
@Marino my man!
@stevenjlawson preach!

My carry gun is a 5" Springfield 1911 and I find it easier to conceal, more comfortable and more accurate than my Sig M11A1.
1911's are remarkably flat!
I have to agree with you, carried a M11-a1, now carry the Sig nightmare 1911 4.2 inch barrel
The new Gen of the SAS II U/L has a reduced beaver tail and bobbed hammer. BUL also makes its own optic for their pistols. Gun now comes in a zippered attaché type case with two magazines instead of a pelican type case. MSRP is now about $200.00 more. Fit and finish are impeccable. Priority 1 Holsters makes holsters for this pistol. Thirty-Seven is not old.
I was diagnosed with colon cancer at 33 years old, he should never say never.
I always say, if Glock is such "perfection" why do you need to modify it to make it better? 1911. So bad it's only been around for 100+ years.
I owned a Glock for a week, absolute trash, I regret ever looking at or touching it. Got rid of it for a FNX 45 TAC of course. Yes, I carry that cow.
That’s ridiculous. This 1911 is more modified than any Glock. It’s technically not even a 1911.
The perfection tagline is stupid, yes. But for most shooters you don't really *need* to do anything to a glock. At the price point it should come with more durable sights, but that's it.

Hahaha thats funny.
You mean tactical daisy dukes.

Love my daily carry Springfield EMP in 9mm.
Sweet pistol, I'm just here wishing Smith and Wesson would make a modernized Gen III
"We made it to compete with the Glock 19" and make it more than twice the price, that doesn't seem like a competition to me.
And that’s why they call it glock perfection
Blake Davis if they are so perfect why is it so hard to find one that something on it hasn’t been changed. Nothing wrong with a Glock but they malfunction also. Funny limp wrist was never a thing until the advent of the Glock!
@@charlesprice7608 idk I don’t even own one it’s just a joke based on their slogan , a bad joke maybe but one nonetheless
AI3xZJE41 YT I just switched from a Sig p225a1 to my Sig 1911 Nightmare. I have been looking at a magnum research 1911’s the price is reasonable, looks like a well made 1911.
There tons of shops that have double stack 1911s you just havent been looking
I’ve had more malfunctions from my G17 than any of my 1911’s. Starting from a highly customized Colt Gold Cup for bullseye shooting. An unmodified Gold cup I carried in South America as a duty gun. A Commander that I used as a CC gun until I used it in a defensive situation and it got “lost” by the sheriff’s department. A Commander to replace that, a Kimber PRo Carry, and a variety of Springfields...
I shot a range rental SA EMP and it was better at 5 7 10 and 15 yards than either my 17 or 19 both having red dots.
Lawyer he says....and trust me.... yeah right! Two things that should never be in the same sentence 😂
Oh, lawyers can be trusted. But only as far as your check goes.
"or even a SA XD... If you swing that way"
Instant classic. Well done short shorts, well done!
People who want a double stack, reliable 1911 in 9mm have apparently never heard of the GOAT and the Chad Hi Power
High powers are awesome. In fact thanks to that gun we have double stacked handguns. But that thing is just as big n heavy as a 1911 if not more due to 18 round capacity. I love 1911. I love High Powers. That price tag though hurts my soul
The only reason to get a Hi Power is for the ATF-exempt shoulder stock.
@@nathanarterberry8001 get a Kareen or a Regal. Sub $500 price tag and the shoot just as good as the OG Brownings. The Regal is honestly one of the best steel frame guns for the price. Super nice. Also, HI Powers are only 15 rounds flush fit if you use MecGar mags. Most came with 14 or 13 rounders though.
@@cycadaacolyte6349 a HI Power with a Shoulderstock? Why? Its a damn service pistol lol, ain't need no stock. Just get a decent Hi Power and put a trigger in it and you have a basically double stack 9mm 1911 thats simpler, more reliable, and just as accurate.
I would kill for that gun! The fluted barrel, the beaver tail, the lightening cuts on the slide, everything about it appeals to me. Only one major problem...I live in the People's Republik of Commieformua and there's not a chance in hell I could lay my hands on one.

Ok Mr Gunshorts I owe you big on this one. 3 years ago I tracked down a Bul Armory importer and bought this pistol but in .45acp. It cost me $1300 then and I had to wait 8 months for it to arrive. I think they still import the 9mm model but the only 45acp I have been able to find on Gunbroker ever was a used one and the bid had reached past $2500 last time I checked. Thank you for helping me buy a nearly one of kind pistol in the USA even though I'm usually one of your "Poors". Btw easily the best and most accurate auto centerfire pistol I have ever owened regardless of barrel length.
I'm a tiny gun channel and I have to deal with that whole "things you said in the past never really go away" thing at times. Lol things change but people dont follow the chronological timeline of the videos we put out.
@luis avitia thanks man, I appreciate that! Dude, if you wanna do TH-cam, do it! It's a lot of fun and has made me learn more than I thought I would about firearms. Lol
Okay someone please tell me about the 1911 jam meme. I've only had my 1911 jam once and that's because the main spring was 112 years old and after I replaced it the gun runs fine
It's well balanced original design that has been produced by so many different manufacturers that everyone's making them to their own specs, most people are using them outside of the intended operation parameters, there's a serious issue regarding magazine feed lips and the type of ammo they were designed to feed, plus the first generations of hollowpoints sucked ass and uncontrolled feed pistols gained popularity over the 1911. The 1911's use of controlled feeding had a wrench thrown into the system with differing bullet shapes and feed lips. Uncontrolled feeding pistols are a little more forgiving.
Comparison, USGI mags for ball ammo vs wadcutter feed lips for semi-wadcutter bullets:

@@averageodd 9mm kimbers have problems. My mother owns one and it stovepiped a lot. Low grain ammo and some spring thingy were the cause. I don't know the precise details because I was too occupied with my dad's ww2 1911 lol.
Overwatch That's why it never jammed, at 112 years old it's just about broken in
Overwatch basically most new production 1911s have way tighter clearances than ever originally intended causing FTEs and FTFs and kimbers are the worst offenders
One guy told me it was because the magazine notch was cut wrong. High priced magazines corrected that. I know I have less issues with Wilson Combat mags compared to USGI 1911 magazines.
Rock River has a compact 45 ACP 1911 with a double stack 10 round magazine, seriously! Review that!!
Earl Lee I don’t think para is a thing anymore. Or I would have bought one.
th-cam.com/video/YSsP2yFbEpo/w-d-xo.html holy fuck he was right.
@@nelsonr1467 well it's kinda hard to buy anything from a manufacturer who's no longer manufacturing.
Nelson R they were bought by the same group that owns remington and liquidated. I have a Para .45 LDA and it is a great little gun, not a 1911 except in looks, but a great shooter that has nothing to envy from the single action trigger.
Ive got a 14/45 love it. A 4.25 ltc. U know kimber and caspian bought frames from para to build their doubles on.
The boomering can get worse, I only buy revolvers these days for no reason at all other than that I like shooting them more.
My first TFB TV video and I was impressed with just about everything. The review and backstory was fun to view and informative, a combination that is rare. Nicely done ... consider me a new sub! Cheers ...

Welcome to the world of 2011's $$$$
Depends do you want competition guns or not that is a lot of difference in prices of 1911
As a retired cop of 25 yrs, I carried several pistols in that time.
