Omg, suikoden. Up till now it's one of the best game in ds for me. The plot became dark in the middle, the music, and the requirements you need to achieve to gain some members which will effect the ending too.
Radiant Historia is a must for every RPG gamers Its super fun and the story is Amazing The gameplay is kinda unique you don't just randomly attack you have to count every move and based on that you can deal great damage. Try it, ( Atlus Games FTW )

Far from Irrational can't deny that , but i'm sick of people who keep jump out of nowhere and say i ruined their fun . I'm a die hard fan of this game but when i ask people about it ( scream it on 9gag ) ,9 out of 10 say they didn't know it and they don't care cause the graphic is ugly . Ds is such an amazing system. So many games its nuts. And the 3ds also has an incredible library and can also play ds games. So you seriously have access to more than a lifetime of great games.

Im personally a fan of the Dragon Quest V remake for DS. I know the PS2 version is way better, but that wasn't localized so i couldn't play it. The storyline is top notch!
god I hope radiant historia can either get a sequel or spiritual successor or even an hd port to consoles? that game is just too good to be lost forever.
Daniel Tallarico Garcia I always wondered why they didn't like making english ports for that series; it took me a long time to find an english translation for the first game Tales of Phantasia and even though it is a fan translation it is fantastically done. It is a rom obviously, but it's practically impossible to play games from that series without playing roms.
+Sean Dobbins thats true :/ the games are awesome but I cant understand why its not translate... i use roms a lot in that case. other games like namco x capcom that some games of the series have english version but the first one not its confuse...
RocksyCloud Well for me they start off good, but around the 15 hour mark theres a burnout feeling every time with that series. I wish they'd make more Phantasy Star games, those had some excellent storylines.

It's called Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem; it is the sequel to Shadow Dragon for the DS, however it was never released outside Japan. You can still emulate it in english, though, which is exactly what I did.
you know guys black sigil would have been a fantastic game without its multiple game-breaking bugs and glitches. For me, it was on par with Chrono trigger with its plot and gameplay although black sigil has an unreasonably high encounter rate which is very annoying.

Where's Golden Sun: Dark Dawn? Granted, nothing will ever live up to the classic for GBA (or The Lost Age). But it was still a great game and deserves a mention in the top ten.

Those two tales games I havent played so might try. Just a thought...pokemon games are probably classed as rpgs....and there are a few of them on DS that are better than many on this list

I HIGHLY recommend *ENDLESS SPACE* , a wonderful RPG involving space battles, with a very rich and captivating story.
Why not Goldensun Dark Dawn? It's hard, but it really shines as a hidden gem!

Well, I have to agree with most of the list, especially the top 5, which I have played. The other 5 I have yet to play.
It's a shame that some of these JRPGs never got a proper release outside of Japan.
