I like the Ramp solution on so many stations in Switzerland. They work always instead of a broken elevator and are cheaper to maintain. Thanks for the Info with the Swiss Pass I always appreciate such information, for a trip within switzerland its perfect.
@Trainviking 02:05 - Worth pointing out now that (It wasn’t at the time of filming) as of the 10th December 2023, Interrail/Eurail is now 100% valid on the Berner Oberland Bahn to Lauterbrunnen & Grindelwald
I recently took the train from Montreux to Interlaken and it was really beautiful. I tried to record some sections of the trip with a GoPro but unfortunately the glare of the windows got in the way. Still though, a beautiful train ride through a portion of Europe, courtesy of Golden Pass Express. I would really like to ride the Trans Siberian Railway across Russia
Hi ! It was a wonderful video . Do we have to buy a ticket if we have a Swiss travel pass? What’s the cost of reserving a seat ? And how early do I have to do that ? And from where ? Thanks in advance
hi, how is the situation now? I think the seat reservation is mandatory for even the second class on this Xpress train is this correct for example glacier express the seat reservation is required. Since this is also a similar panorama train type, please confirm if now they require a seat reservation for even the second class.?
hello there kindly clarify something about the reservation. In order to do the golden past trip there are two options first to take those three trains or to take this direct train. If someone decides to take the other trains is Citra reservation still necessary? or do you think that reservation is only for the Golden Pass express train? which option do you think is great? also, this train is advertise from Montreaux to Interlaken but is it the same from Interlaken to Montreaux?
@@tibsyy895this really depends. In switzerland you can hop on a train go with a gondola on a mountain go with a different gondola on the otherside down and hop on a train back home. Never needing to worry about parking. Another factor is airport, it would be insane to use a car to go to the airport and pay for the parking. Or you want to go out with friends, with public tranaport everyone can have a few drinks. Or for working many swiss already do work on the train with a laptop. My point is cars have their purpose and advantages and trains, buses ect. Have advantages. To say that t car is the ultimate freedom is just wrong, there are many downsides. The downside with public transport is that you are on a schedule that you can only controll to a certain point. But the density, frequency and reliability of the swiss public transport makes that disadvatage minimal.
Very informative
Thanks

Oh, really?? This is REALLY nice!
Finally! 🤗- As a local, I'm always a little bit ashamed when I see something like that.

How can we be back to Interlaken? Is it offboarding at Montreaux then taking another train to be back?
For example or take another route. It's super easy to plan this via Google maps, SBB website, etc.
@@Trainvikingis it non-stop or I can stop by some stations?
They sell beer on train or is it BYOB?
You can buy some drinks indeed.
@@Trainviking Thanks, love your videos

What???? No elevators or escalators again…????
In Switzerland rich people ride on trains cause tickets are freaking expensive! 😅
Actually, many people ride trains because there is a half price annual card that pays for itself in a few journeys.
@@dcartier1692 Yeah, in the long run with maintenance cars cost more that is for sure. But jumping in your car and just drive away is freedom.
