      @1:35, …”lots of cameras”…
      Fact, density wise, England is got more cameras.
      Fact, Yet, England’s crime rate is in multiples as compared to China.
      Conclusion, China’s cameras are there to protect good people. I like this functionality of cameras.

    One thing that you don't have to worry about when traveling to China is time of arrival. I say this because you're completely safe at any time of day or night. When I travel to the U.S. and even Western Europe for conference, I must be vigilante on my time of arrival. A few years ago I traveled to Baltimore for business and arrived after midnight due to flight delays. I drove into the wrong neighborhood in my rental and I had genuine fear of my personal safety. The whole area looks like Somalia.

    You are very brave. Despite all warnings from the medias not to take ‘risk’ coming to China , you did it.There are particularly many foreigners in Shanghai, which proves China's security. Don’t be afraid of cameras on the streets. There are more cameras on the streets of London than in Shanghai. Cameras only record crimes but can also deter criminals.

      from a graduate student to now, i have been living in the west since mid-80s, calling most of western people "sheeple" not really too much of exaggeration. western media, collectively, the best propaganda apparatus on this planet, completely brainwashed their people to the point that they blankly accept whatever they were told. in the west you almost never hear different stories other than the stories from the mainstream media. not like us chinese, we read chinese and english, we see both sides of stories....

    I checked on Google the countries with the most cameras on the streets and I was surprised by the result: London is first! Then there are actually just as many cameras in Singapore (maybe even more), there are also a lot of cameras in South Korea, and it looks like India is also at the top of the list.
    As for the police, I remember when I was in Japan, there were police everywhere, especially in small cabins called “kouban”. And if you travel to my country, France, you will be surprised because you will not only find police officers in the train stations but also soldiers armed with assault rifles (I say this because it is always very surprising for Asian tourists. My Japanese wife was always shocked)
    Speaking of Japan, tourists have long been required to give their fingerprints at Japanese customs.
    BTW: if you're wondering why security is high in China, it's because it faced the same problems as Syria: terrorist attacks in the 2000s, because of the ETIM (East Turkestan Islamic Movement) (around 1000 people killed between 2007 and 2014). ) and also because China fears color revolutions like those which took place in Georgia (2003), Kyrgyzstan (2005), Ukraine (in 2004 and 2014).
    That's why they banned Google because they don't trust the United States. They are convinced that the United States is provoking (or at least encouraging) these revolutions and that they were involved in the Hong Kong revolts.
    I don't know if they have good reasons to believe that the USA wants to take control of the entire Asian continent at all costs (they are based in part on the words of Zbigniew Brzeziński and the revelations of Edward Snowden), maybe they have no good reason to fear the US. I just say that this explains the high level of security and the ban on certain applications of the GAFAM.
    I let everyone have their own opinion.

      So many countries have scarier security systems than China but the west, particularly the USA never needs to pick on and smear about them. However, they keep picking on China’s security system to bash about 24/7 for years. I know the usa intentions. They keep bashing China’s security system to discourage China in catching crimes as well as spies.

    I still don't get the West why they are not going for electric cars yet. I understand some gas car union workers are against it. But as a society, it should be major push for EV cars. In the last 10 years, Chinese city sky are much cleaner after the adoption of EV cars. There are no noise and no honking. And so gas smell. It is a perfection solution.

      Western mindset old fashioned and their infrastructure doesn’t support enough charging units throughout their country.

    • @darkcloud5830
      @darkcloud5830 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Easy. EV is expensive. The Western countries are not capable of handling all the EVs. We still get occasional blackouts. Charging takes too long, Westerners are always in a rush. ICE is easier and cheaper to fix.

    • @tkh2944
      @tkh2944 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      @@darkcloud5830EV is expensive in the West because of taxes. Meanwhile, the reverse happens in China EV is cheap & ICE expensive.
      Also, it needs the government's strong resolve to push & encourage the people to adapt for a cleaner environment.
      Therefore, because of China's systems & societal culture, the country can move rapidly to set up the infrastructures to adapt accordingly.
      So EV is cheap & easy to adapt quickly for the government/people there.

    When you encounter difficulties in China, you can ask people around you to help you, unless they don't understand what you are saying, so you need good Chinese language skills or translation software. Maybe China is not yet able to make travel comfortable for foreign friends, but China has been making progress and changes. As the same saying goes, if you have difficulties, ask the people around you for help. Chinese people are willing to help others and like to help foreign friends.
    I came across Google Translate, but I don’t know if the translation is correct. As a Chinese, I hope you have a happy trip.😊

    There are more cameras on the streets of London than there are in China. No one is looking for cameras on the streets of London? Or being watched in London? For me, this question is shocking. Cameras can protect ordinary people from the intrusion of criminal activities, and enable people to enjoy the freedom to walk the streets of the city no matter day or night! This, China has done, at least, I don't worry about being stolen or robbed when I walk on the streets of China, or worry about someone breaking the window of my car parked on the street.

    Shanghai has a population of tens of millions. If someone is following you and monitoring you at any time, the Chinese police will stop doing anything else. These recordings are only recalled when you encounter a problem. If you ever encounter a robbery or other unexpected incident in Shanghai, you'll be thankful for these cameras. As a Chinese, I'm not worried about these cameras at all. On the contrary, it gave me a sense of security. In fact, there are numerous cameras on the streets of every country. 😓😓😓I hope this trip can help you break some stereotypes, such as cameras. I'm tired of often saying that having too many cameras means not being free and infringing on privacy. The truth is that London has the world's largest number of cameras, but its security is not even comparable to that of ordinary third tier cities in China. The police on the street don't care about what you're doing as long as you don't do anything illegal, such as robbery or hurting others.
    Also, before traveling, you may want to check the weather at your destination. Wearing summer clothes while walking on the streets of Shanghai is not a wise move.

    99% of cameras are not real-time surveillance cameras, they are just video recorder cameras used to look back while an incident has occurred. In addition, London has the largest camera density in the world, not Shanghai or Beijing.

    Hi, I am planning to apply for the transit visa for a two days layover in China. I have booked seperate tickets for entering China with Singapore Airline and leaving China with Qatar Airline. Just wondering if you could share more about your visa experience? Did you have separate tickets as well? Did it work? Some Chinese Websites states 'interline tickets' are needed. So I am confused about the visa conditions. How much does it cost for the visa application at the airport immigration? Thank you heaps.

    Your experience would be better if you researched the destination more. Relying on google and mobile services to fill you in upon arrival is not always a great idea. We once almost got lost in a national park in New South Wales. After driving for tens of kms without any mobile signal. Lucky the car had offline navigation.
    The first street you visited in Shanghai is arguably not a great choice for those who don't know Shanghai. Prices are high and there are English speaking scammers (suspiciously towards end of your video).
    But overall Shanghai is a very easy place for foreigners. Enjoy! 😊

      I don't think it's the cameras, tho. Over a decade ago there was a movement named "baby come home". Mostly grieving parents trying to push the police to do their job. I can see how much it has improved.
      Kudos to the police force that work hard to keep people safe and government that made all these happen!
