@@jamiegreen8065 That is going too far to say big hands mean nothing. I have small hands and had to jump about 4 inches higher to dunk because of that. There were a lot of plays in games that were layups instead of dunks, because I had small hands.

Watching Giannis pick up a Basketball like I would pick up a baseball will never cease to amazing me. When he does it to pick up a ball for a fast break it's absolutely stunning. This is why almost nobody can block a Giannis dunk because even if they get a hand on the ball since Giannis still has a grip on the basketball to be able to finish the dunk. The fact mid flight Giannis has the ball up higher then the red square above the rim makes it even harder.
Nominating Connie Hawkins for this list. I shook his hand as a kid and he just swallowed me up. Later I remet him when I was in my 20s and it was like I had never grown.
Really? Literally THREE QUARTERS of the "hand size" videos on youtube are Jordan fan videos. It's some particular fetish of theirs. Weird. th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=Jordan+hand+size
Jordan and Dr. J both around the same height/leaping ability/hand size made for the NBA's 2 greatest dunkers of all time. Since they so easily palmed the ball mid flight they could just move the ball around the big man arm trying to block their shots. Giannis is only guy that does that stuff today.
I'm right at 8 1'4". And it's surprising how much that matters and hurt my game in high school. Just another half inch would have been extremely helpful for holding on to the ball and gripping it for dunks or catching passes.
Not as simple as it sounds. As hand size increased, ball control decreases, which is why Kobe and other small hand players are much better shooters than your MJ to Shaq level players. My backup pg has hands. Biggest on the team, and he could easily palm a ball. It just doesn't help unless you also have the athleticism to get to the basket, and you are just trading an ability to dunk away from a good layup package. It's all about defense. I was all about defense but this guy could get steals I just couldn't, that hand always seemed to get a finger on the ball. He wasn't just trying to make me uncomfortable like plebs did, every time he attacked the ball there was a serious threat, that's what big hands gets you. The idea that you'd just be like Mike is not true, Mike was also 6'6 with amazing fundamentals and technique, he would've given up that mitt he had for Kobes in a heart beat, Michael always had an awkward clutch in his shot from the ball being palmed and not resting properly on his shot. Kobe wanted the MJ gloves because he was often a mismatch on defense with no counterclaim. Just be who you are, get your teammates involved, lead the spirit of the team. This is what made all the best players except Shaq to becoming great, and even Shaq left several rings on the table from being selfish
I call BS on this list There's a clip, here on TH-cam, of Kawhi Leonard on "Inside The NBA". put his hand up against Shaq, and their hands were almost identical in size
Craziest thing about this video is I actually went to high school with Noah Vonleh (Haverhill High in Massachusetts) I remember dapping him up in the hallway and his fingers hit my damn forearm and my hand disappeared. Never I'm my life have I ever felt so small
@thecliffold5879 Yeah pretty much, I mean we were both in high-school and it was his freshman year and my sophomore year, I probably grew another inch or 2, he probably grew another 6-7 lol I'll just never forget how massive his hands were and how awesome he was as a person, great dude.
@thecliffold5879 It's even crazier to me now measuring my hands like they show (pinky to thumb) and my hands are over 9 inches and his hands swallowed mine 🤣
Always thought hand size was supposed be measured from base to tip of middle finger and my hand is only 8 inches that way but if the with is the measurement, seems to come closer to 9 1/4. Guess that's pretty avg for someone at6'0
Small hand compare to Finlands tallest man ever and probably top 3 atleast in recorded human history. 253cm 8´3 tall Väinö Myllyrinne. His hand was measured 15,8 inch. He has probably slihly bigger hands than Robert Wadlow. Or atleast same size. th-cam.com/video/wbVAF7VnU5w/w-d-xo.html
Yeah. But bigger doesn't always mean one can palm the ball. Jordan obviously could palm the ball. But Julius' freakishly long hands made a difference. Jordan once said that Dr. J hands were so long, his thumb from his index finger gap was so far apart. It made it easy for him to palm the ball off of the dribble. There are guys who have bigger hands than me. But I have freakishly long hands, longer than theirs, where I can easily palm the ball. But they can't.
Phil Jackson was asked the difference between MJ and Kobe. His response was "the hands"
Also MJ was more athletic, he was faster and could jump higher
And had a quicker first step and was much efficient
Based on some of the names on the list, hand size means absolutely nothing.

I'm surprised George Muresan wasn't on the list. The guy was a giant
he “swallowed you up” huh??…… diddy much?
GOAT Boban
Connie Hawkins should've been on that list. He was 6 feet 8. Had hand size beyond a center.
Number 1 wears the # 51 in order to commemorate the Area he broke out of
I never realized how big Jordan's hands are
He just had it all.

I'm at 9" and I can't palm a basketball.
I find it hard to believe Taco’s hands are that small he’s 7’6”. I’m only 5’11” and I just measured my hand span at a little over 9.25

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t think this list is legit. I can see Wilt’s hand being bigger than Shaq.
Should have put heightd too for perspective. Looks like Wemby has baby hands
MJ had the luckiest body frame + hand + vertical leap + toughest mindset GOD ever gave to any human to play basketball.

Sorry, but if Spencer Haywood and Connie Hawkins aren't on this list and at least in the top 10 then it's bogus.
6'11 here 11.9 inch handspan 9.8 inch hand length
No Mark Aguirre or James Worthy???
How tf does Xavier Tillman have bigger hands than wemby 😅😅
Guessing they weren't measuring everyone in The 80s because James Worthy made the ball look like a grapfruit
Robert Pershing Wadlow had the largest hands in the NBA, his hands measured in at a whopping 12.75 inches

Kawhi also has like a 7’4 wingspan

Yao Ming obviously didn't make the list. Lol 😂
You know what they say about a guy with big hands
Where is Connie Hawkins in this, the Hawk had huge hands.
Wemby does not have 10.75 inch handspan bro his hands are much bigger
This list seems bogus, Pippen's hands were as big if not bigger than MJ's ...
Do you see how they are measuring? It is the spread, not the overall length.
No Chris Webber 🤔
They are measuring spread, not length.
I didn't see Magic Johnson.

Do NBA measured hand size? Or does players just tell them. Or do anyone care. Its not like its height.
I'm 6'2 and have 11.15 in hands
6'8" white guy: 9.5" 😂🤦♂️
I am 10.1" and a full foot shorter than Rondo. I couldn't shoot for sht but could palm a ball and barely dunk IF I didn't have to dribble.
Sure Mr 5-1.
in the nba, you wouldn't have to dribble,
5’10 10” hands and 10” D!
