Thanks soo much for this video! I’m trying to build a base that’s partly on land and then kinda extends out to the water to make my raft more accessible. I was just getting really frustrated that I couldn’t build out far enough. And I do play on PS4 so maybe I’ll check out your server sometime

hey there question do u have to attach it to land? I was gonna make it only over water. and also how high do the pillars have to be in order to snap the ceiling over them?
zaya14 as long as you connect it to the land at the floor of the body of water you are good. There is no specific height that it must be before placing a ceiling.

For some reason, the game didn't allow me to place pillars on the seafloor near where I needed a wall built _(it was perhaps 10 meters deep)._

If one ceiling gets destroyed, would the whole thing not collapsed like if one foundation was broke? Or is that why there are pillars?
The more pillars the less will collapse but it counts as a foundation

When we build the house already , can we remove that pillar ?
That is a great question, unfortunately you cannot. The primary pillar and additional “grid snapped” pillars are your foundation. Removing an original snap point can potentially compromise anything snapped and placed from them. May I ask, why would you want to?

Okay I'm kind of building on land like on the shores of a beach but I ran out of room to build exactly how I want so now I'm trying to combine my land foundations and continue building over water with the foundation that I'm using
I have built a base over the deep sea using the same technique as yours but after I have put all the ceilings, now I can’t put any walls underwater except for one wall. Any tips?

Since you are on PS4. Do you know how to get rid of the tether distance when playing with your friends? It’s annoying having to stay close to your tribe at all times
When playing on a local server you cannot remove the tether.

You cannot do it.
But how to put foundations on the pillars and how to build double walls on the sides. they can destroy the pillars under it or get to main pillar right away??????
If they get to the main pillar then they are already deep into your base.
@@Incdrew ok. Tnx. But what if they go from under and destroy pillar in water? Are other pillars connected to ceillings or just main? I am not sure I can connect on PC?
You have the discretion to connect as many pillars as you’d like, you can connect them all for more foundation, this is similar a way of doing it quickly. You also can build walls downward to cover possible entry.

I really had trouble building. My friend started 2x3 on land and spreaded over water with ceiling. But nothing connected under in water. So it was tricky inventing some solution mid way to connect and secure all. Tnx

Does this not mean though that a raider could just take out the one pillar and thus break your whole base?
Nova Kiin yes, but in order to get to that pillar they’d have to go through your entire base.
@@Incdrew yea, I suppose in most cases it wouldn't matter. I was building in a cave with a water entrance making it somewhat difficult to protect
You can place walls around that pillar and -but some turrets

@@Incdrew I'm trying this on official, on Valguero and the body of water is pretty deep. There are also a number of boulders deep under the surface. Have you had any success building over water in that sort of environment? Thus far, I am running into a lot of areas where I can get the pillars to snap, or build ceilings across the pillars to force a snap, but the behavior at the surface of the water is hit or miss on if it accepts it as a foundation source. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

Doodle Sacks it’s still working for me. If you miss a grid snap, however, it will through the whole thing off.
I can't help to notice his voice seems to change alot according to the water somehow. Maybe not fully but alot when he submerges into the water. 🤣 like *talks then continues to talk even when enters water* 😂

why building in this game is so stupid, why no one could come up with options like in The Forest, first you set yourself a project that costs you nothing and then report the materials ... you know at least that something can be built or not. In Ark, always at the end of building or in the middle, it turns out that something is impossible or impossible to put up and half a day and millions of materials wasted omg

@@Incdrew what if I'm using it to shield for water tames like squids or megalodons?
Stefen, you can still have them in there, and a passageway might be good to build for removal until you acquire kryopod
