Yes, Future should be in the conversation- look at how many new rappers try to imitate and he popularised the whole autotune Trap rap genre
Influence ≠ Excellence
Look at how many ppl h1tl3r influenced I guess he’s an icon 2
@@KalistoDreamswell said
@@KalistoDreamsidk why so many ppl believe that most influence means the best. most artists get influenced by someone else but that does not mean that the root of the influence should be considered the “best”
No 808s and Heartbreak, Wayne, or T-Pain, no Future. It's simple.
Just wanted to say, I’ve been watching you before you were even breaking 300 views… it’s been a pleasure to watch you grow. We’ve needed some new passionate blood in the rap commentary space for a while. Stay opinionated!
I second this, this channel is amazing
Same i third this
I feel like the problem with making list of the greatest rappers of all time is that people often have completely different ideas on how a rapper should be judged. You have people who will judge an artist based on their impact and influence on the overall genre of hip hop and then others who will only judge them soley based on their lyricism and poetry. Yes you can have rappers who are able to fit into both of these categories but it honestly just ends up undermining the legacy of many rappers because they dont necessarily fit into one these specific categories over another
imo the greatest rapper of all time should be your favourite rapper.
cause i know a lot of people that don't like future, thug or chief keef so where's the argument then?
music is subjective, numbers don't mean anything and influence don't always mean a good impact on the genre
so the only way to determine who the greatest is... is to name your favourite rapper
@@GlockkieI would say the word Great hold the connotation of who has the most influence.
I would say that how you are describing “Great” would fit closer to the word “Best”
@@MR._.H0L10Ŵz yeah but for example project pat has a lot of influence and I never see him in the goat conversation... same thing with yung lean, spaceghostpurrp, lil b...
would you call carti the greatest artist of the 2020s just because of his influence?
@@Glockkie I would say influence on a global scale, not just in the game. Otherwise Rakim would be the goat.
Normally what I do is look at other instances where people use “Great”. An example, Mohammed Ali isn’t the most influence boxer “in” the sport, but probably holds the most renounced boxer ever. He also isn’t the best boxer ever. You can also look at MJ, although being the best of his time, it’s really hard to compare NBA players through time, not to mention he probably was on the best team ever.
Also, this is all subjective. I just crafted my definition around how I see other people use “goat” and “best”. Not to mention I really started to consider this to argue Drake to be the goat
@@MR._.H0L10Ŵz well lean had a global influence since 2012 & like I said people never say he's one of the greats
carti also had a global influence
you could find rage songs in every language after WLR dropped

2010-2024 Future and Kendrick are both the goats for different reasons
As a Future fan I’m glad you put him in that category because I put him as an all time great. Undeniable hit maker. Future makes some of the greatest MUSIC ever. Regardless of genre. The only knock is traditional “lyricism” but every thing else he does is at the GOAT level.
Future be saying some things here and there. His aura overweighs the lack of lyrics
He do be saying some profound shi every now and then.
I've cried multiple times listening to Future and that does not usually happen to me while listening to hip hop.
Future actually has insane bars. His method of making music tho is heavily focused on melody. So he rarely displays his lyricism.
@@QaatilXIII bro it’s the feeling that his music gives u. I definitely done cried listening to his music. It’s hard to explain but his music on an emotional level is insane.
@@theysayisagorilla that’s what I’m saying! Also Future has a song for every situation in life for me. Getting money, getting over a break up, falling in love, high as hell, niggas snaking, etc. he has timeless music and his bars go unnoticed
Future
Drake
Lil Wayne
Kanye West
Kendrick Lamar
My personal (subjective) top 5 based on how much I've been bumping them since the early 2010s
Mine is
1. 2Pac
2. Nas.
3. Kendrick Lamar.
4. The Notorious B.I.G.
5. Mos Def.
6. Canserbero (a Venezuelan rapper).
7. Big L.
Kanye
Tupac
Kendrick Lamar
DMX
Biggie

2. Eminem
3. Kendrick Lamar
4. Big KRIT
5. Denzel Curry
My subjective top five, especially the last two.. very underrated but great artists that never disappoint
I’ve told ppl since he came out he’d be a 🐐 cuz I never got tired of listening to him. Now 15-16yrs later, I still don’t skip a song and stop everything to listen to his music

futures legacy cannot be denied
Pluto needs to see this 🐐🔥🔥
Never in my life have I ever heard a bad future feature, he doesn’t have a bad project & is well respected and his influence is insane
Nigga have you heard Superstar by Thug. That was the worst ever Pluto x Thug collab
And its also Wheezy's worst ever beat
As a future fan I really don't appreciate the fact that you did not mention any of his accolades it's crazy bro DS2 is 5 times Platinum I never liked you as double Platinum high off life is double Platinum future the album is double Platinum give this man some credit for the real work that he put in
Love this video bro. Future the real goat !
great video! used to not understand why ppl considered future as a goat but he dropped so many bangers this year and when i revisited his entire discography, i finally understood
btw 25:45 jcole is on red leather on wsdty
4:27 Future changed the Sound and DNA of Trap music with his 3-Peat (Monster/Beast Mode/56 Nights)
What a time it was to be alive and hustling during that run. All bags were being grabbed 📈📈📈
I wouldnt say Ye is the goat RAPPER but i would say he's the greatest & most creative hiphop artist of all time
3 seconds in and I agree
And no one questions his age 🐐
Pluto is the Hottest n Flyest n most influence they ain’t do what he still doing !!!

A lot of facts was spoken, especially the driver's license part
I see a lot of haters in the comments but can’t wait for Mixtape Pluto on the 20th it’s UP ANOTHER MASTERPIECE ❤🧙🏾♂️😎
its about time someone recognizes future as one of the best rappers to ever do it
On Future vs 50 Cent: Future is like a slow burn artist, he never oversaturates the market with his music or image, he doesnt do interviews, he never attempts a no1 hit single or a viral trend. He allows his reach to slowly expand through word of mouth and the way people talk about him as an influential, respectable and hard working artist. 50 Cent on the other hand came in with a blockbuster story in 2003 and let the whole world know about it. He got huge amounts of money and publicity, forcing everybody to learn about his background, but only 4 years later people became tired of him and moved on to new things (Kanye). This is because 50 came in like a storm and got all up in people's faces. It's not sustainable and it exposed him to people who are not even fans of rap, earning him a army of haters as well as fans. Future chose a very sustainable approach with the way he marketed himself, never "selling out" (selling outside one's main demographic). Fans of hip hop know and respect Future because they see him here and there, and non-hip hop fans might not even have a clue about Future
March Madness
Future is the MUZAK of rap, nothing to not like, nothing to get super excited about, very aux cord safe.
Cole has a verse on Red Leather by Future, it was on WSDTY
the conversation between "best rapper" is nebulous because what "rapper" means has evolved so much. i think theres a more fruitful conversation if you talk about "best emcee" and "best artist" with emcee being more focused on lyrical and technical content of the raps and the skill of spitting bars, versus the musical and technical composition of the music, production, arrangement, mixing, sampling, etc. (which some if not most rappers do not have skill on and fall squarely on producers and engineers)
Future and Kanye both can make argument for best and most influencial hiphop artist, but neither has any claim on best emcee
When he make projects it’s almost like you listening to a movie on audio from beginning to end he’s painting a picture w his words where you can visualize like you are there too he isn’t no bad lyricist tf ppl that say that you don’t really listen to him frfr ppl should start pulling up lyrics of his songs and he say things that ppl are scared to say and the way he talk about the Trap is unmatched and his style is out of this world!!! N he has diff alter egos that he switch I can go on and on ppl gotta do thier research
since when was lyrics such an important things, the sound, flow, production so much more important
It has always been a thing future is goat trap rapper but he’s not even top 50 best rapper when it comes to skill
Because that’s how rap started and that was the most valued thing as a rapper. If you don’t agree with that then we’re gonna be lumping Nas with OsamaSon in goat conversations
@@forest5306 but what's the problem wit that, like I wouldn't say osama son but id put someone like carti or travis over nas, what is so wrong with that discussion if people genuinely find more value in their music
His influence on r&b was intentional I think he said his favorite artist is Whitney Houston
when you do the 2010’s Mt Rushmore of rappers its Drake, Kendrick, Cole, And Future hendrix.
Agree with the take. Any 3 Future album/mixtape run in his career equates to 1 Get Rich or Die Trying and Future has about 4 of those runs
Future and Curry damn near had a 1 to 1 career ark. That was actually an incredible comparison to make.
I personally disagree with this take. He's a good rapper, he's not up with the greats. His style is repetitive & simple & can be replicated pretty easily, especially his whole persona of being toxic.
He's not as versatile or creative as other on mic either if we're talking about lyricism.
Future is the greatest hedonistic rapper of all times
use to hate future but as he's grown i like his later albums but top 10? nah maybe top 20.
future deserves his flowers, but he wasn't all that
Top 20 is crazy. But that’s your opinion
@@mikejones7617 if you told me this in 2015, i would tell you top 100 lol
Saw the title and felt “yeah I need someone to explain this sh*t cuz he’s frustrating to listen to”
Jcole got red leather with future
I totally agree
Ye as your GOAT is fair/valid. That brother made 5 classics with his 5 first albums

How about the fact that his greatest accomplishment is he has 11 platinum albums how many other rappers have that

No 808s and Heartbreak, Wayne, or T-Pain, no Future. It's simple.
period retwist!
I remember the first song I heard by him was “turn on the lights” I liked it but I was wondering what else he was gonna bring. I was like is he going to fade out after this song or blow up? Well we know what happened. I’m fan for sure.
of course he thinks future is one of the goats, he IS future
agree with almost everything
Valid take!!
Codeine crazy is one of the greatest songs the genre has ever seen
Future and thug have done as much for hip hop than biggie and pac
Kanye definitely in the conversation
i dont think future can be considered for the goat conversation, at least in my opinion, because he lacks lyricism. im not saying lyricism is the end all be all to the conversation, but it is a massive factor in being a rap goat. i believe future excels in a lot of factors of rapping, but i think a goat needs to excel in all of them, so for future to not get lyricism to at least a high level disqualifies him from my consideration.
Hot Take we need to start adding Travis Scott in the convo after Utopia
Future, Nicki, Big Sean always get left out of the conversation
Nici never does but them too get left off for a reason. Wtf is wrong with yall
You look like Future
😂😂😂
just realised are all your videos just one take? because if so good stuff! pretty nuts that you can make good points and succinctly deliver without any break or mistakes or trailing off into tangents.
They’re not one take.
He’s just good at keeping his head in the same place and not cutting mid sentence when he edits the video.
He’s up there with Kanye Wests, Travis Scott’s, Kid Cudi’s and Tyler the Creators in terms of Greatest Rap Artist but he is NOT up there with Nas, Jay Z, Kendrick, and Pac as Greatest Rappers of all time. They are not the same.
I'd say if u putting hendrix in that convo, then u gotta put thugger in it too
Maybe, we should clearly define what makes a rapper a rapper. Then we can see who’s great at it and who’s not. I guess it depends on the criteria.
Real slick
I thought this video was about Future then you went on for 30 minutes talking about Lil Wayne.
Y'all not giving mc ride enough credit
Why does bro look like future😭
It's HIGHLY ridiculous to put Future in the category,he's super overrated. I been listening to bruh since 2010 & he still isn't good at all,idk what folks hear in him & Thug, even drake is kinda overrated
17:58 ironically young thug tweeted that about future 😂
Say ong 😂😂😂
Facts
I’ve only listened to DS2, WSDTY, and Mixtape Pluto and found all of it kinda mid. Which projects should I check out y’all?
Edit: Also world on drugs w/ juice
Migos changed the game too
Yo I understand what you mean but I really feel a lot of the influence you’re contributing to Future can also be attributed to Young Thug as well. I personally think Thugs influence is maybe a bit more noticeable due to a lot it coming from how artist use their voice. I don’t know if you remember but the “baby voice” comes directly from Thug so many Artist experimenting with their voice is allowed now because of Thug. There couldn’t be a Carti or a Yeat without him. As far as influence goes I think the way hip hop sounds now and has sounded for the past 10 years can be directly traced back to these 3 people Future, Young Thug, and Travis Scott. Future for the way he structures songs and flows Thug for his experimental vocal inflections and unorthodox harmonies and Travis for his production style moody psychedelic sound and harmonizing as well. And the glue between all these artist is Metro Booming btw.
I really want some one to make a hip hop family tree video tracing the influence from Wayne, Kanye, and T-pain to how hip hop music sounds now. I’ve been a fan of hip hop since I could remember and I think if you took 2008 and wiped it from the history books music would sound completely different. I’m 25 and I’ve been watching Hip hop evolve pretty much since then and I find it so interesting. I might just have to make that video myself bruh because I don’t feel like anyone gets it right.
The Wzrd
SIKE!
If Kanye West is your favorite MC, the rest of your opinion on Future being an all-time great is tainted. Kanye is easily one of the greatest producers and composers of all time, but no one has ever considered Kanye a rap titan.
Future is a modern jay z imo
I agree with the hot take for sure and I’m not even a big future fan like that. 50 only had one album with real weight and impact, he’s overrated af imo. Future as an overall artist and in terms of impact and influence eclipses 50 in every sense.
