Hi Jason, I’m really looking forward to this build series. Always interested in something new. I appreciate the time you spend for the beginner in this hobby.
Great introductory video. I've been looking forward to this series. I know its aimed at beginners but I find ,it doesn't matter how much experience you have, you can always learn something new.
Jason, A well detailed and unbiased view of the tools required in order to begin your first build……really enjoyed it and most useful…….looking forward to the next instalment….👍
I have a Wooden model in m'y stash for about 30 years. Started it all wrong but feel like i van reopen that ans give it a try with your help. Thanks a lot ans keep Up the good work. Going that eau we should expect 20k. 😂
Hi Jason it’s Richard (AXLE) Griess across the pond. I guess I’m going to have to put some modeling projects on hold and squeeze the SHERBORNE in. So, I’m new kid when comes to building a wooden model ship (built boat load of rc planes and gliders in my day). I will have to wait for payday midmonth to order the kit ( it’s hell having to pull this sea chain around, hahaha) But I’m game, the models likes it is well manufactured. Looks like a great series. Axle
Jason! What a fantastic idea! The kit looks wonderful - I will be checking the build as the vids drop. Never built a ship model so you have really got me interested. Maybe one day I'll get the kit and knuckle down. 😊
Jason, I purchased my HM Sherbourne this morning from Age of Sail here in the U.S. The adjustable pin pusher was more difficult to find. I was able to get it from the U.K. Amazon site with shipping for $30.00 U.S. Most of the other tools you recommend I already have. I’m looking forward to this adventure. I’ll probably start in the spring. You should have a good number of videos on the build by then. Have a good week.
Hi Jason, first of all congratulations on the 10k milestone. I came back to modeling in the pandemic and mostly done plastic 1/72 with some 1/35 armour. Then a few weeks ago you (on the best model show in my mind) announced this project build. I've never built a wooden model (a bit remiss since I'm ex Navy) but I got my hands on the sherbourne (3 times more than I've ever paid for a kit) and watching this project part 1 of the build I'm really looking forward to getting under way. Keep up the good work & may it soon be 15k.
Going to watch this this evening after work with a beer 😉 I have this kit as a first model and completed the first planking. I had to have a second attempt at this as after 4 planks one side was going a bit odd, so I stripped it off, got some more strips and started again. This time I had more success. In between the two attempts though I got the Polaris by Occre and following the videos by Home Harbour am well on my way with that.. Currently up to making the masts. I will follow this build with interest.
Excellent series as usual. Have bought the HMS Sherbourne and expecting delivery on Monday 7 Oct.. I think I am right that you have purchased the Proxxon DB 250 mini lathe. If so, is it possible you could demonstrate turning a mast and yard on the Sherbourne. I have one and need a tutorial on how to do it and the tools required. If anyone else can help with advice also, I would be most grateful. If aware of a channel already featuring my request, this would be a great help. I am a complete beginner and hope Jason’s build is aimed at the likes of me. Ben from Midwest Models is also on with the HMS Sherbourne build though I guess all will be aware of this? Best wishes to all.
Your choice of words sometimes make me laugh Jason, good job I know what you mean. 1:10 The aim is to get someone who has never build a wooden model ship and get them to do one LOL
Christmas money spent and Sherborne on order
Looking forward to following this series
Hi Jason,
I’m really looking forward to this build series.
Always interested in something new.
I appreciate the time you spend for the beginner in this hobby.
Vanguard give the modeller the opportunity of downloading the instructions, which I have done and will be very handy while I am following your build 😊
Are you going to be building along?
'Fraid not! 😢
I am sure this series will make me take the plunge into ship modeling.

I know this will encourage many people my self included to give it a try. More power to your elbow. Great video.

Hi Jason, Great video! I'll be looking forward to seeing part 2. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
A great start to the takeover. And a few new tools to buy 😂

Great video, Jason. I've done a bit, but I've learned two new things already.
This might be your best series yet.
Your camera-blower is the bomb!

Great start to what I'm sure is going to be a very informative and interesting build series.
Cool tools. 🛠
I've taken the plunge to build along with you... Sherborne, pin pusher and clamps ordered... I have all the other tools available from other modelling

I use my lathe on the Endevour mast so keep your eyes out for those videos
Not to argue with you Jason but perhaps the earliest models were actually models of the human body. They have examples going back 10,000 years!
Your choice of words sometimes make me laugh Jason, good job I know what you mean.
