For ages the buttons have been between the o and the d and now it splits the d and it looks like shit.

Agreed! I hate Nike. I despise where there Corporate Office is based & I’m extremely displeased with their founder. Many of the things that has gotten me to raise eyebrows about Sports of any kind here in the US is mainly all his fault anyway.

Wow. Nike has really lost their way. Forcing changes to perfection is absurd. Change for the sake of change is the mark of insanity and really shows their ignorance and hubris in thinking that they know best about what needs to be.

The split in the "d" looks like absolute crap. As does the white perforated holes in the back number. I'll be sticking to the retro jerseys.

That awkward break, the lettering, numbering with the perforation and even the off white make the unis look cheap. I have a more authentic looking Mookie jersey than Mookie himself.

It's not about performance, it's about Nike cutting costs and trying to make the jerseys the cheapest way possible (perforated numbers as example)
As someone who has created these kinds of jerseys in my own business, I get your point and can't say I have a good argument against it, but the twill they use for numbers and lettering is SUPER cheap and to invest in perforating it will cost more in time to actually run the twill through an additional step... so in this case, I doubt it's cost-saving. The uniform material itself could very well be a cost-savings decision while also possibly being better for performance metrics. The change in the placket width is the whole issue with the placement of the lettering split. So that's really a bummer. It's also harder to sew lettering with a mid-letter split, so it's just weird to me that this would be a cost savings.
perforated numbers cost more
@@swisschaletsauce they don't, I work in manufacturing and those perforated numbers are stamped on. Easiest cheapest process to do, before was more expensive and better quality

Shohei was wearing the new one when he signed back in December but everyone was wearing the normal one during Dodger-fest. I hate the changes Nike made. They’re awful
The fact that the Dodgers wouldn’t wear the new ones at Fan Fest shows they were forced to make changes they didn’t want to, and that they hate the new ones just as much as we do.
I hate these jersey changes.
Next season, 2025, we better be wearing gold outlines on our jerseys for Opening Day.

Nike did this because they are cheaper to make than the previous version. It’s not about performance it’s about making more money per jersey sold to the die hard fans. Nike has a very powerful voice in all sports leagues. Packers only team that stood by their tradition. Dodgers could have stood by tradition but chose not to. I personally would never buy this jersey. I also would not buy a jersey with an ad patch

my favorite jerseys all time are the late 70'/ 80's Pirates Stargell/Parker era. Black /gold pants and Gold w/;black pants or gold/gold and black/black. just killer and their hats back then were awesome.
And the "Stargell Stars" on the pillbox caps!
Strange to me that an organization as massive as the Los Angeles Dodgers can't decide the manufacturing process and materials for their own jerseys. To think that Nike can just tell the Dodgers no is wild to me. Who's the actual customer? Don't the Dodgers buy these jerseys? Weird.

Don't really care about the meshy numbers since you can notice it only real near. Hate the change on the break placement. Makes absolute no sense that the teams HAVE to abide by whatever Nike wants....

When I was a kid I had a Dodgers uniform with that break in the letter D. That was when they were still in Brooklyn! I thought it was weird, but when I buttoned the shirt it fit in and looked really nice! The only thing I don't like is that the numbers on the back are too THIN!! They were a shade darker but that was because they were flannel
Nike is the king for ruining uniforms. Look what they did to the Lakers. They made it highligher yellow instead of classic gold. They did the same thing to the rams. Not surprised they are ruining the dodgers too.

Aw snap! So the jersey I bought was just under $200 and not the actual Nike Elite ones that go for almost $400. All good. I'm happy with what I have 😬😄
Sounds like a cost cutting strategy more than anything because Nike needed to up the per piece profit. Traditionalists are going to have a fit.

The white breaking through the blue is distracting but at least they didn't competely overhaul it. The Dodger, Yankee, and Cardinal uniforms are iconic, the best in baseball, and should not undergo major changes. There are some logos and emblems that are too associated to ever be changed dramically ; The Coca Cola Script the Chevy Logo. the CBS Eye NBC Peacock. immediately connect to the product no matter where you see it.
One thing that I noticed that you guys didn't mention is the the last names has a bigger arch, Go Dodgerssss!
Dodgers should wear pinstripes at home; White with royal blue pinstripes with the "Dodgers" written across the chest. How about a slight tweak on their wordmark, like dropping the loop over the O and having only one stem above the R and S on the Dodgers jersey logo. I see that happening in the near future.
I’ll only buy a new authentic if the Dodgers win the World Series and drop the gold ones. I don’t mind the off white that much, back in the Jackie Robinson days they wore cream jerseys

I'm more appalled by the pants. The few games I've seen this season in ST have almost see-through pants, you can see the shirt tails. For the teams that play Northern games where you still have possibilities of snow & wind in March & April, let alone rain...how are these going to hold up?

DMac I’m surprised you don’t have the KC Royals on the list, simply because their color scheme is highly similar to the Dodgers. The uniforms I like that like that’s not on your list are the Braves and the Rockies.

I don’t like these uniforms. But then again, I was never happy they got rid of the early 2000s uniforms. I miss the home “Dodgers” whites and away “Los Angeles” greys with white outlines around the blue cursive script and around the names and numbers.

Orioles is really clean. I've always been a little against the color Orange because of the the Giants and Astros. But they're right outside of my top 10.
I'm saving 300 bucks this year, I guess.
They even raised the price by 50 bucks. This is insane... The previous year's custom numbering cost around $380 after tax. Now we're looking at $470 after tax. Worst looking jerseys, yet the most expensive in history.

Nike straight up making bootlegs & calling them onfield, hilarious. The new uniforms share similar characteristics to the bootlegs sold on eBay. New uniforms are wack. Any pre 2023 jersey will definitely look higher quality over these new bootlegs from this point forward. The swoosh hit nothing but air.

The white is completely wrong and it drives me nuts 🥜. Having the wrong white is not a minor thing. Let’s change the Yankee blue a little bit, and tweak that Red Sox red because no big deal. It is the same thing here. The companies don’t own these teams but they owe something to the history’s of these teams. One day their mark will be replaced by something else but what is left behind is important. Dodgers should step in just like the Packers did and refuse these garbage bags. Bring back the beautiful, comfortable majestic template and wear the Dodger’s colors as they were meant to be worn.
I was so pissed off when I heard Nike was gonna take over the uniforms and look what they're doing now, Just like the NBA uniforms they all look like crap ! I'm glad I still have my Dodgers Majestic jerseys and I will never buy a Nikes jersey.

.Especially the "D" in dodgers is too thick or just not right... Looks very sloppy and cartoonish. Very 1940's era logo.. Not that big of fan of that...
This new look is not my favorite. It looks home made. However, the new Japanese base that will come onboard, may not know/care about the difference and will buy the new jerseys.
I've hated Nike, since they refused to raise thier 14,000 employees in Jakarta, Indonesia, from $3 a day to $4 a day.
After years of us screaming about how bad Fanatics is this is no surprise to those of us who have ordered jerseys from Fanatics. I'd rather buy a stitched $50 knockoff than a $389 Nike/Fanatics off centered lettering jersey.

Nike ruins uniforms where they go. The Majestic template should have never been messed with - it's now looking similar to the Star Trek 25% different rule - which is done for monied reasons, not the fans.
Though it has yellowed some, still have my 45+ year old Rawlings Dodger jersey 👍
