I grew up in Austell and lived there until moving to Woodstock GA in 1983…hearing the horns of the locomotives was my norm (I loved hearing them)…I actually went to work for Norfolk Southern in 1980 in the mechanical department…until my retirement from disability 34 years later related to an unmarked B/O boxcar door falling onto me while closing it in Chattanooga TN (I took a transfer from Atlanta in 1989)…I truly miss my railroading days…they were good times (except for the 825 lb. boxcar door bouncing of my head 😳😳😳).
@@v12productionsI’m a railfan from southeastern Oklahoma and have always wanted to see a heritage unit and would like to know if sometime you’d come up to the cpkc Shreveport subdivision around Heavener Oklahoma and railfan with me
great video , i live in Winston ,GA off of 78 no shortage of rail traffic , i hear trains all day . between breman , temple . villa rica , douglasville and austell there are lots of places to railfan
I wasn't sure if you've been to Dalton but they have a good bit of traffic, it was enough to where I was able to make a two hour compilation video of everything I caught
I have not found a good place to see the Dalton diamond from a high place. Any suggestion? Depot St. under the bridge is almost too close to the tracks.
Great video as always. A lot of stuff seen here seem eerily familiar to me. Like I was there as well. LOL. Austell and Mableton are my favorite locations to railfan here in Georgia. There is no shortage of action and trains to see and film.
All this horn-blowing would drive me nuts if I lived there. Must be typical American. Here in Belgium you hardly hear any of this. I live near to a busy railroad crossing with lots of freight trains.
Another in a series of well-done videos. The videography (including with the drone) is excellent. I saw a picture of a very unusual-looking crossover in my local newspaper a year or so ago. It appears that one train passes directly across the other set of rails. It appears that there is some steelwork built into the track that raises the train as it prepares to cross. It also appears that the flanges have actually worn grooves in the rails being crossed. Obviously, the up-and-over tracks must get very little use since there is no coss-over being used. Have you ever seen anything like that?
Love the camera footage and clarity, are you at liberty to disclose the video camera you use? I have a cheaper 4k camera that somewhat does ok but fixed lens not much for zooming in at all...
I’m sure the Railroad Employees enjoy seeing the Railfans take such an interest in their work. 👍

Austell is one of the best places to catch NS trains in GA. There is always something special to see there! Great video!
Agreed. Thanks!

Live in Mableton which is 3 miles east of Austell. Love watching the railroad traffic.
1:54 that K5HLA tho😩😩 and at 4:03 sweet catch of 4830 with its K5HLA!
I go there everyday and once I caught the Pennsylvania heritage unit

@@v12productions need to squeeze Bremen into your next trip. Popular dispatcher spot to set up meets and the NS cedartown district crosses downtown
0:12 that’s a good amount of trees. That’s the amount we need
Nothing Better than a Meet. 👍
Last time I was this early the Piedmont service didn't exist
Excellent content. Loved every second of it.
Thanks!

Thanks dude! That was quite a day of railfanning!
Me and my dad railfan there Since 2008
I haven’t caught 1071 yet
Nice Video, How many trains go through there per day?
Absolutely crazy, on Saturday 5/15/21i caught this same train, minus the 2nd engine in Tennessee. It was just 4259, and NJC .
That's really cool! Interesting seeing where these trains end up.
@@v12productions indeed I was like omg hey I post my own video of this train a few days later! Great work man

Awesome stuff I’d love to railfan there. Is there one spot in Austell to see it all?
I agree with you
Amtrak goes through there all the time
0:52 wind caused it or trains going by created like a vacuum?
Love the camera footage and clarity, are you at liberty to disclose the video camera you use? I have a cheaper 4k camera that somewhat does ok but fixed lens not much for zooming in at all...
I use a Sony NX80 camcorder. I love it, but it's a little pricey.
Awesome I’m visiting Austell sometime soon just curious to know how long do you have to wait for these trains?
Cool! It really depends. I've had good luck later in the afternoon.
Went to school there
That was a good train video.
Have you been to adel Georgia
Do you know virtual railfan
