George Galloway: who is he and why should Labour fear him? | SpectatorTV

- George Galloway has won a resounding victory in Rochdale, after a chaotic and messy by-election in which Labour was forced to disown its own candidate after he claimed Israel had allowed Hamas to attack on October 7th. Former Labour MP Galloway - standing for the Workers Party of Britain - won on a single issue campaign, criticising the Israel-Gaza war and in particular the response of Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak to the conflict. What does George Galloway's return mean for Labour?
James Heale speaks to Katy Balls and John McTernan, former political secretary to prime minister Tony Blair.

Voting Labour or Tory is like changing deckchairs on a sinking ship
It's a very popular sinking ship. Immigrants are piling in and not many British people are leaving. I certainly intend to stay in this "sinking" ship.
Yet america has dems reps
@Beach_comber not many are dying more like we have high longevity like China and Japan

George is no mug, sunak /starmer(starver) are both scared ha ha 😆
George Galloway was favourite BEFORE Starmer disowned his candidate.
The result would have been the same regardless.
No one wants labour or Tories. Vote green!
he is a backstabber to Scotland and others
No he WASN'T. See, I can use capitals too.
Precisely. Starmer abandoned Ali in order to save face and create the impression that withdrawal of support was why they failed, when Galloway echoed the same sentiments on 7 October that Ali did only he went further and condemned the Zionist regime outright, subsequently winning in a landslide.
Galloway telling the US Senate re the Iraq war was amazing to watch
Yes, but it does not make me agree with everything

The cope from msm is funny😊
EFFING HILARIOUS!!! 😂😂😂
All Galloway needs to do is field candidates in Labour areas
And Tory areas….the other cheek of the slapped arse.
What they are not talking about is that the winning candidate AND the runner up got 60% of the vote between them and are independant from the two main parties .... this shows that the British people are fed up with party politics and the corruption that is rife in the Tory party and Starmers Labour (Tory light) party.
Well done George. I would like to see more independents and Greens win seats across the country as the current two-party system doesn't represent the UK people well.
If a party like the Greens gained power then watch people with brains and wealth leave the UK. Agree Tories, Labour inadequate but the Greens? Gees.
You simply do not know how many people want to see the back of Tory/Lab, more independent and Green but media like BBC, LBC, will not allow their voices to be heard!

Any problem you may or may not have with the concept of postal voting is a completely different issue which has no relevance whatsoever to the journalist's failure to know what the correct published election result figures were.
@@UtubeRwokeLeftiesAnd your arithmetic skills would be somewhat in the same ball-park as the said journalist then too eh - the difference between 5,500 and 8,604 would be 3,104 NOT 9k (So where's the coincidence then???)
Labour will be bricking it when he makes his opening speech as he can say what he likes and no one can stop him not even the tainted Labour loving Mr Speaker
He'll just get laughed at like Andrew Brigden does. They're all a bunch of self-interested tossers.

Would a big Political clear-out at the next election be a good thing seeing labour and conservatives come third and forth in the next general election ?

🤣🤣🤡🤡
Labour's ceasefire motion excluded the SNP rider referring to 'collective punishment'. The legal force of this would have obliged the British government to address their complicity in arming Israel.
Labour, people, drove a coach and horses through democratic due process by stealing the SNP's slot and substituting its own diluted ceasefire call. Labour trashed our democracy to prevent any breath of criticism falling on Israel.
Sunak and Starmer then joined forces to distract everyone with dog-whistle racism, insinuating that hundreds of thousands of peaceful marchers from many communities were violent Islamists.
George will not let that stuff pass again.
If we have 100% to stop the war. Do you think the war will stop. No .What we say make so different
Britain is a very close friend of Israel. It would.
100% the war will stop. Isreal is scared of England if England has his backbone back/up. Go Galloway go, show them the people's rights.
We're finally worldwide entering the age of the outsider in mainstream politics. Votes matter.
Reminds me of Soviet journalists bending over backwards not to offend the communist party, but now it’s English journalists and Israel. But Galloway is independent, fearless and breaks the pro genocide discourse
Why is Israel still allowed to compete in our UEFA football competitions? Eurovision etc? They are not even a European country.
But you can’t buy a friend in Russia a birthday card
Why aren't you moaning about Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan being in UEFA?
@@g111g In fairness those countries probably shouldn't be in UEFA, it's a relic of them being in the USSR.

"speak up for peace"?
Seriously? Does any rational person believe a ceasefire, let alone a symbolic but utterly ineffective vote for a ceasefire would lead to peace?
The conflict in the middle east will continue for decades more, and most likely centuries. Talk of peace is fantastical.
Not if weapons and vast amounts of funding stop being thrown at Occupying forces.
@@Titus9508 That will not stop peace.
Firstly, Israel will always be able to purchase weapons from somewhere. I'm quite sure they can manufacture their own.
Secondly, Hamas or their successors are too invested in their hatred of Jews to permanently lay down arms.
