Very sorry for your loss, I can relate to this feeling when I had my Ford Fiesta man. Simply beyond my control, but only could do so much

@@blacktalonsport1262 I ended up getting a Infiniti G35, and I love it! Despite the car being a bit quirky to work on, it's an extension of my personality

It really made me a believer of just how good this motor is. I remember really liking this EcoBoost technology when I first saw it at the NYC Auto show years ago. Having this 18 Sport proved to me its a good motor. I feel like the way I put my mods together and how I took care of it made it last...also made a loyal customer out of me. I'm sitting here now trying to figure out how to get an ST...them things are expensive but hard to beat based on what it's competition has to offer.

💔 that’s brutal bro. Ive been through a near identical situation when I totalled my ‘18 Sport. Never even got to mount license plates on there. Fortunately I rebounded with a ‘19 Explorer Sport and started fresh asap. You’ve been a a great contributor to the Ecoboost Explorers and I’m sure plenty others are just as grateful for all the experience and knowledge you’ve generously shared.
Hopefully I can help with a little feedback on the BMWs you mentioned as potential replacements. My uncle was initially a general manager at Infiniti and then eventually at the BMW dealership next door. With the magic he wass able to reguulary make happen, we each racked up quite some milage in the larger BMW models such as X5, X5m, X6m, 550i Gran Turismo and just about every M-series car. Prior to BMWs, it was a similar situation on Infiniti’s. Over our few “Ifiniti” years, we mostly drove the FX35, G35, QX56, and a naturally aspirated Q50S
With that said, I Never thought Id end up in an. Explorer Sport! The first one I drove was a rental provided while my 550i GT was getting serviced and some body work. Needless to say, I never looked back at BMW after driving that Ford loaner. The BMW X5 is iconic with or wihout the M. It’s semi-comfy SUV that seems large but almost always disappoints whn it comes to storage space. the X6 is even worse when it comes to storage, it’s close to the useless trunk space youd find in an Infiniti FX35.
Here are the maiN opinions on what I learned once thoroughly exeriencing the above mentioned manufacturers and models.
The BMWs were very lacking as “utllity vehicles” and even morseso on crossover models. The 550i Gran Turismo is a great example of wht I am referring to. Although it had was a powerful 550i model, it was totally anchored down by the fact that it actually sat on a 7-series frame.
Any of our fellow EcoBoost Explorer drivers would agree on these pro’s and con’s
Explorer Sport Pros: BMW X-Series: The 11-19 Sport and Interceptors are deceivingly large and agile at the same time. The profile of 5th gen Explorers have always reminded me of the initial Jeep SRT-8s due to the ride height and overall shape/profile.
Explorer cons: Although Ford did a much better job of on the interiors of5th gen Explorers, interiors still can’t compare to the high-tech consoles and instruments that you’d find in a BMW, Infiniti, and many others. Only disappointments Ive had with my Fords have been related to several recalls and quality of service at some of the dealerships.BMW and Infiniti on the otherhand always outperformed them when it came down to quality of work, service, and efficiency,
Hopefully my rambling can actually help contribute to the decision on Bullet 2.0 , thanks again for your contributions to the Explorer community and glad no one was hurt. WIshinin everybody out there a safe and happy holidays.

Thank you! I'm glad to see my efforts to help the Explorer community are appreciated.
The trick of finding a SUV that can balance the needs of my usage is difficult. The many things I love about the X5 M's don't outweigh the cons...lack of utility as you correctly mentioned. Truth be told Explorer's seem to be the answer to everything (now minus work needs) I need to do with a vehicle. I'm still in morning and the shock of not having Bullet still hasn't wore off but in time I know I'll be ok.
I really appreciated your insight. It really just confirms I need to get into a ST and make it a 2.0. Those things are way more expensive so that presents its challenges. I'll do my best to make it happen.

Sorry for your loss, you should look into 20 and up Explorer ST, 400 hp & 415 torque with enough room for mods.
    Just a suggestion.

@@jaredholland6266 Thanks. An ST looks like my number one pick. I'm looking at how folks are modifying them as we speak.
They seem much more complex. I don't think I'd do more than an intake (on the fence about which one) turbo back exhaust (might go full 3' catted first) intercooler and a tune. Steeda and Bilstein for suspension. I'll NEED A/T tires. I'll see if I can get away with not lifting it if I can access the beaches I drive on without it. I might want a sick wrap, and oem speaker upgrades...that's about it I think. One major factor is how expensive ST's are. I saw an exact match to the spec I had on Bullet in a 2020 for $42k 🤯

Yup! Insurance said if I had the plate of the Blue Benz that cut me off it would be different but my dash camera system stopped working some time ago. I've been trying to work on a Colaboration with the company I use however they didn't respond to my last "counter offer" then this happens a few days later. Hard pill to swallow but I'm happy I didn't hit anyone, and I'm alive!
