If you really want to maximize your potential for loot when patrolling the Plaguelands. You should put on Memory of Gheleon for that enhanced radar to give away chest and material locations, a class item that grants increased Vanguard or faction reputation and/or a Vanguard reputation booster, a ghost that grants glimmer for killing Fallen and Spinmetal for picking up engrams, Ether Seeds for even more bonus glimmer when killing Fallen. And if you are a Warlock, put on the Alchemists Raiment for EVEN MORE bonus glimmer on primary ammo pickups. Also, you can buy planetary materials from the Vanguard quarter master with legendary marks and buy heavy ammo synths from Variks in the reef with Ether Seeds and glimmer. P.S. If you are low on exotic shards and have max glimmer and want to upgrade some weapons or armor at the same time, buy Dragons Breath from the Exotic Kiosk and put on a rocket launcher focus class item as well as a heavy weapon telemetry, then put on any armor or weapons that you need upgraded so you can use your motes to their full potential, then use five motes to bring the Dragons Breath to max level. Do not upgrade any of the perks, dismantle it and continue the previous steps until either you have no glimmer, all your weapons and armor are upgraded to max, or till you get bored of this game and realize I am making this WAY too complicated.

Great job, I really like the layout of the information. I do a very similar run on a smaller scale, mostly when I am waiting on my fire team to get on. I would suggest one small change, on step 5 once you return to the tower, see the gunsmith 1'st because as you decrypt and dismantle engrams you will get a small amount of glimmer so I spend some up to make certain I am not at 25K already. YES, YES, YES!! This is almost *exactly* what I have been doing for months. I keep telling people that PATROLS are *the* way to go for leveling to 330, and now 390. Before RoI release I would run Earth patrols on a loop from the spawn point in The Stepps through the Mothyards, Forgotten Shore, Grottos, Refinery, Rocketyard, The Divide, Dock 13, and back. Round and round. leveling up and up. Now I run the Plaguelands because of the quarantine patrols.

excellent logic and explained very well. One thing that I use for similar purposes that you may have overlooked, Variks (house judgment in the reef) sells heavy synths (250 glimmer and 1 ether seed), unless you are using the ether seeds to attain more glimmer during the patrols.
Seems like a good package farm. I farmed a bit before RoI in the 28 PoE cause it was the most effective way at the time, I farmed for about 40-50 days and the result was about 200 faction rank ups, reached 386 within the first 24 hours of RoI. And with this method that I used I could farm exotics at the same time. At first from all the materials I gathered (strange coins, motes, weaponparts,..) I got about 150 pakages and then + 50 from boosting (20 from exotic class item + 30 from package materials). Next time I might use this strategy.
387 was the highest anyone got before the normal raid, bungie messed up somehow with the "385 max" so people could reach even higher light, it was very possible for people like me that saved up resourses before RoI, my 387 before the raid was a bit carried by my 389 sniper i got from dead orbit, very lucky there :P
OK so here's how I turn roughly 30 motes of light into 70 and max my glimmer after doing a huge patrol run. I save all of my blue armor and weapons in my vault then put them on. Make sure to use primary, special, and heavy weapon telemetries. Use 2 or 3 motes to level up the gear until it's passed the first tier then remove and scrap it while putting on more blue gear. this gives you about 80 more glimmer per scrapped piece and a weapon or armor part more. You also come out with more motes because every SINGLE piece gives you a mote of light back. Then spend the glimmer on weapon and armor parts.
By first tier I mean the second column of perks for your weapons or armor. if you have all fresh armor and use motes then the second that armor shows green for an upgrade; scrap it for motes and basically the same with weapons. weapons level faster. Also when the weekly boss for the court of oryx is kagoor, be sure to farm the ogre for black wax and silken codex and leave kagoor alone. let the time run out and you get your rune back along with 9-10 black wax. You can tell I LOVE to farm but don't have the means to post any content explaining it.
What i do to farm glimmer, armor material, weapon material, etc, is just farm the Siva Offering public event. In 30-60 minutes i already have an inventory full of engrams. You just gotta start the public event and everytime you finish look for more offerings from the guys you killed. 50/50 chance you'll find one. Keep doing this until you no longer find any siva offerings or get bored (obviously go look for some more offerings around the plaguelands if you want.) If you find people that already have offerings, thats even better. After you're done with all the farming, go to the tower, encrypt your engrams, dismantel everything you dont want, and you're good. Like i said, i usually get an inventory full of engrams, + around 4,000 glimmer out of this. And you get to level up the cryptarch at the same time which is a bonus.
Great video, brotha! Level 28 Poe has been my main source of Strange Coin farming, but after around 30 minutes, it begins to drive me insane. I'll have to try this method as it seems much more entertaining.
I don't know if anyone else said this, but another thing to maybe mention is you'll likely get a shit ton of ether seeds which you can use alongside 250 glimmer to get Heavy Synth from Variks. This could speed the process along even more.

EVERYONE! Your ghost is your best asset as well. He spoke of how it gives you more glimmer per kill on which ever enemy you have it set for. BUT! Their is also away to get the planetary materials as well! Your ghost has three Functions. 1: It detects the materials for you. (which can be replaced by the Gheleon artifact which works like that one nightstalker perk, it will show you where the chests and the materials are! ) 2: While "looting" Engrams on whatever planet you are on you will get the materials, that means when you see a engram pop out an enemy and you go to pick it up you that is when you are "Looting" it and will recieve the engram plus the planetary material. You can knock out 2 birds with one stone by doing this. And the 3rd is just giving you more glimmer. I highly recommend you pay attention to you ghost perks cause there are perfect ones that will be super beneficial. Say you want relic iron but your ghost gives you glimmer for killing fallen. there are better ghost that will give you that relic iron while giving you glimmer for killing cabal! just put your ghosts' secondary perk on that way when you kill those cabal and the engram pops out and you go to loot it up you will get all three things glimmer, engram, and planetary material all at the same time! plus if you got one and its intellect, Strengh, or Discipline are maxed out, meaning you got one with the Intellect at 35 and discipline 25 and are able to swap it making the intellect 25 and discipline 35. Then you my friend have The Most Perfect Ghost in the game that can drop. I have two perfect stat ghost and i love them. i hope this helps as well as this video.
oh when I said this over that I mean when you arrive an in area do quarantines as a priority before kill and collect etc... basically 1 before 2 2 before 3 3 before 4 is the same as 1 over 2 over 3 over 4
The way I farm rep is exactly how I farm exotic engram, I just to the Iron Tomb mission and farm there while popping ether seed every time, In just a few hour I already have 50~ motes and full glimmer in around an hour, and that's not adding the Wolves Banner for those 200 glimmer than buy heavy ammo from Variks. But I dont really rank up my faction that often.

Yes. Killing fallen gives you Ether Seeds drops and those can be used to pick up heavy from Variks. The gilmmer per rep cost is 10 vs 38 with heavy and 16 vs 40 with special ...if you don't consider a cost for Ether Seeds. Prioritize Variks heavy synths over those from the Banshee.
I would like to add to this to keep some glimmer and go to the reef. Hand in all your ether seeds and some glimmer to varix for cheaper heavy synths. also I got lucky with spinmetal extractor and extra glimmer for fallen kills on my ghost shell. Almost every engram is extra spinmetal.
in this dlc just get heavies and special synths from variks, i dont even use ether seeds and i have had no prob with glimmer this dlc. rep packages will only work til you hit 390 after that you need to do the forge nightfall banner trials the raid and hoard chest that you open with a skeleton key

You forgot to mention Iron Banner. Just playing a few hours every day will land you with around 120-150 strange coins per week, and a similar number of motes of light. As well as many faction packages. What also of strikes/Nightfalls when combined with glimmer buffs? How about exclusion zone with a glimmer buff?

after just one run like this method says i went up about 5-8 strange coins about 8k glimmer 17 armor (from engrams only) and about 380 in weapon parts just the one run but i can see if you grind it enough you will greatly benefit
to give you perspective on what that equates to thats roughly half a packages from just the stuff you got. Not to mention the rep given from the patrols themselves

CoS Gaming honestly it was a good video...however I don't feel like grinding patrols etc just for strange coins when we're not even sure if scs/motes/our characters are going to transfer over to destiny 2
I will say this...I understand the dislike of patrols and hopefully if you are here in the next few days my new method will spark you interest

go to iron tomb, kill 2 wipe repeat for house banners and ether seeds. heavy ammo synths. for 50 glimmer
chris lane I used to do this method for the last campaign level. high enough light you can burn down 2of3 bosses; wipe, repeat
Prince Beauty School iv been doing this too but also using three of coins before killing each boss then wipe and repeat
I will 100% admit that iron tomb is fasterfor exotics , but you know it, i know it, and bungie knows that thats not intended functionality. So I attemptedto create a route that wasnt an exploit

You forgot to mention Iron Banner. Just playing a few hours every day will land you with around 120-150 strange coins per week, and a similar number of motes of light. As well as many faction packages. What also of strikes/Nightfalls when combined with glimmer buffs? How about exclusion zone with a glimmer buff?
Here's the short version, spend all glimmer on weapon and armor parts, hoard blue engrams, spend weapon and armor part at faction vendor, repeat.
Wow lots of work went into this video and a question, how long in hours did it take you total to grind all that loot?

I goto The Reef for heavy ammo synthesis I think it's only 250 glimmer and ether seed but when I run out of ether seeds I will go to the gunsmith and purchase some from him

I'm lost, do you only do one patrol in each area. So like 1 in lords, then 1 in giant, then 1 in archon, then 1 in lord, then 1 in rocket, then 1 in divide?? Once done if you haven't got the secret mission do all the rest of the patrols??
you can buy heavy synth for 250 glimmer in the reef which is much cheaper than going too the gun smith
also using ether seeds will increase your glimmer gain by almost double

I have ether seeds and a ghost that gives me spinmetal with engram's and extra glimmer for killing fallen, thanks so much, I always used to run out of glimmer but now I have almost too much
don't forget you can buy heavy synth at the reef for 250 glimmer instead of 950 with an eather seed.

after just one run like this method says i went up about 5-8 strange coins about 8k glimmer 17 armor (from engrams only) and about 380 in weapon parts just the one run but i can see if you grind it enough you will greatly benefit
to give you perspective on what that equates to thats roughly half a packages from just the stuff you got. Not to mention the rep given from the patrols themselves
yeah plus the horde of engrams i saved up for the patch was almost a level by themselves

Why not use Various and his 250 glimmer and 1 ether seed for one heavy synth? would that not be more beneficial seeing as you are murdering Fallen left and right?
