“when I thought that I was supporting a small business, I did NOT think that I was going to be getting a small bookshelf” - hahahahahaha I am so sorry but that is incredible
i’m gonna get “man’s search for meaning”. in my Human Experience class last semester we read one of his exerts and i found so many quotes that resonated with me that i loved, “when a man finds that it is his destiny to suffer, he will have to accept his suffering as his task” - Viktor E. Frankl. I love this quote because i feel like we all run away from our responsibilities and are afraid to fail or suffer. you could apply this quote in many ways, if your afraid to suffer you won’t grow. and when you find the beauty the struggle you can fully appreciate life.
"In your reading era... as the girlies would say" loved it xD. Great recommendations! I am also returning to reading and wanted to explore self improvement, Man's Search for Meaning seems cool, might start with that :D. Also I love the lights 🌟🌟
Just discovered you and you’re brilliant. Your advice is incredibly sound, you’re evidently very learned and intelligent and bookish content is always welcome. Very excited to settle into this one.
i’m gonna buy “man’s search for meaning.” we read some of his exerts in my hmxp class last year and i found so many quotes that resonated with me. “when a man finds that it is his destiny to suffer, he will have to accept his suffering as his task” - Viktor E. Frankl. i feel like so many people run away from responsibility, and are afraid of failure and suffering. ik growing up i’ve had a constant thought pattern of, what’s the point of all this when i never get a break, i get one thing done and three things fall at my doorstep. but once you accept suffering as your task, your destiny, your “human experience” life becomes that much easier for you. it kind of just switched my perspective on things.
omg i literally thought today that i just finished my previous book so would be nice to hear your recommendations and opinion on some. thank you so much for such an amazing video as always 🤍
I watched the first episode but I have this terrible issue where I can’t handle conflict in shows, and cuz I know what’s gonna happen I’m too stressed. But yes I need to keep going cuz the first episode was great
I’m almost finished reading Vengeful by VE Schwab and the series is so good but it’s only two books so I’m really sad it’s about to be over 😭 I’ve been avoiding that fact by just not reading the ending though 😂😂
@@jacobdreamsasmr it’s basically about two pre-med students who research this phenomenon of people having super powers, and they realize that they might be able to cause it on purpose, but they’d have to die and come back to life. So they try it and get powers, but other bad stuff happens, and the one character sets out to get revenge on the other who screwed him over lol. The way it’s written is really interesting too because it bounces back and forth between the past and the present, so it’s like two stories going on at once
Haha thank you for the good laughs and the great video! How do you find yourself re reading a book? I have a hard time reading a book I’ve already read
I have to take at least a year off between reads but it’s mostly cuz I feel like I take something new away every time I reread. It’s kinda like your fav movie or show
i never read the book but i’ve seen the show that’s interesting that it doesn’t have quotes i’m trying to write a book and i’m using quotes bc it’s seems easier to do
@@jacobdreamsasmr yeah!! It must be a stylistic choice for all of her work - same goes for her newest book ‘beautiful world where are you’ but I haven’t read that yet!
Dude, you got screwed! That’s a crate, not a bookcase. And it doesn’t even look finished. It looks like something I’d have made in Boy Scouts. That aside I liked the overview of your books. Etsy…damn!☮️
I adored Normal People 🤍 even the screen adaptation, I felt it made great justice to its delicacy. I have a feeling you might also enjoy High Fidelity by Nick Hornby and Norwegian Woods/Tokyo Blues by Haruki Murakami. They are novels rich in musical references, coming of age aspects, and existential-ish insights, even though the first has more of an ironic tone while the second is quite melancholic from the start.
I’ve read Norwegian wood and really liked it, I’m actually looking for another fiction book rn so I’m gonna check out high fidelity. Thanks for the rec!
the subtle art of not giving a f*ck is right up your alley.. it’s pretty basic but you’ve mentioned constantly on your self improvement game. read it when i needed a little direction and it helped put life into perspective 🫶🏼

You're so intelligent, I absolutely love falling asleep to your videos and vastly growing my knowledge in the process
You don’t have to pull away when you breathe. Breathing on mic is quite relaxing ✨
It actually reminds me of the 'Chocolate Rain' video :)
This was perfection the range is book choices is impeccable
I saw Normal People and immediately said "TASTE" 😂
I've been wanting to read more lately so I'm looking forward to watching this one. Really love the long videos.

Thank you! That’s a heavy book but if you’re into existentialism and the bigger picture stuff it’s great

Hi Jacob. I don't comment much but I really appreciate your uploads they're very relaxing. Thank you! ❤️
Thank you ❤️
just started following your content and i really love your commentary on things, its all so interesting
Hi Jacob, Thank you for the nice videos 🙂.
You need to watch the show of Normal People after reading, it’s *possibly* better than the book…best on screen chemistry I’ve seen maybe ever.
I watched the first episode but I have this terrible issue where I can’t handle conflict in shows, and cuz I know what’s gonna happen I’m too stressed. But yes I need to keep going cuz the first episode was great
Love the content bro I’m a young man & you inspire me to do better keep grinding brother!
