Here in Finland it's free, you get money from government up to 600€/month for living expenses. I am very happy to pay 24% tax when I graduate because this country has served me so good.
@@umarkadir4760 you can come here as immigrant but then you have to do like some preschool or something and then highschool and after that u can go to uni. If u apply from outside of Europe unfortunately u have to pay for tuition and idk if u get any money from government.
I just graduated last year and I remember feeling kind of numb the whole way through. With my major being on the creative side, I think I definitely could have gotten away with not going, but those four years of nothingness are what pushed me to want much more, honestly. I don’t know if I would be where I am now if I hadn’t gone.
I can totally relate bc in high school i would see my friends applying to these rlly amazing schools, while i was already set on going to a community college. I did feel a bit inferior or sad that i wouldnt be able to go to a prestigious college right from the get-go like them bc of money and transportation. But when i actually began my first semester of college, i saw soo many of those ppl, who had applied to those great colleges, at my college! So i feel like alot of them realized that the 2 free yrs at community college is way better than going into student debt 😅 not saying that it was an obvious choice bc they could go to a 4 yr if they wanted to, but in my opinion i feel like its worth it to try community college even if it isnt the super prestigious 4 year university that everyone feels the need to go to from the start. :)
That is super similar to what I ended up doing and oh my god am I glad I didn’t end up going into a ton of debt. I can’t imagine my life rn w $100k in loans. But it’s so hard to understand that as an 18 year old w no concept of money and debt
Stuff like this is really the only reason I keep TH-cam. Good to know there’s others sharing the thoughts I felt alone in especially with the idea that college is many people’s excuse to let themselves peak in their early 20’s.
Thank you for your video. I agree, I think people have an expectation that college sort of GIVES them something important whether it be a grand purpose, success, or a permanent friend group, when in reality, college is another opportunity to have both amazing and terrible experiences. On the flip side, people tend to WAIT for these experiences to magically happen when it takes effort on the person. This creates resentment as many folks feel bitter that they did not get that College Experience (TM) when A) As you said, college is another experience B) Attending, or not attending, College is not the end all be all, and C) There is no "wrong time" to start college. I did see part (but not all) of your existential video and I support the journey in finding purpose or whatever but also remember the people around you. Many people who perhaps feel unmotivated after college tend to wait for a purpose to come along and inspire them, but in reality it's both planned and spontaneous; it's part luck, part context, part work, part location, idk it will never be "perfect." But that fixation on obtaining that perfect moment, or waiting for it, not only takes a toll on the person themselves but the people around them. Remember to check in with your support systems. Sorry for the semi-rant and unsolicited advice, I teach at a university and this subject matter is so important for students and teachers alike.

Nothing wrong with corny shit once in a while. I mean without corny shit where is our wit? Where is our our flirting? Where is our humor? Where is our personalities?
Before I even go any further in the video, if this is about getting a job after college, forget it. College does open your doors to the workplace, but it's challenging to actually get to that point. Remember that it's not only what you know, but "who you know." As intelligent as you might be, you must network. It wildly varies your chances of success depending on your intended major and occupation. The job market isn't the best at this very moment. Even the highest demand careers are not what they claim to be. Yes, they're in high demand, but there's a reason the supply is low. Employers can be quite selective with recent graduates. (Plenty of recent graduates but too few hired) Your best course of action is to find a reasonably priced college degree that has a promising job outlook AND volunteer with your skills for an organization (I can't stress how important this is, but most won't bother and then life slaps them on the face). You won't be paid, but you'll be so glad you did... Trust me on that. BUT... Have a Plan B at all times to make the money at least temporarily! Be aware that just because you graduated from college doesn't mean you deserve a job. Nobody owes you anything at the end of the day. It's up to you to prove it. Easier said than done though.
@@coastthemost8097 Nobody's telling you how to live. This advice applies to college graduates or those seeking to be in college. Are you one of them? If not, then why are we talking?🤦♂️
Not to mention post grad is hell because we leave this so called “ kid resort “ and have to face moving back home and finding an adult job with adults surrounding us compared to always being around people our age :/ it’s a confusing time after college
Good point, when I started my corporate job I felt so out of place, it literally felt like I was in a video game and this was the next level. But not in a good way
does anyone really think college is as good as it gets like lifestyle-wise? i feel its really only about having the highest freedom to responsibility ratio that ur ever gonna have. like were all dead broke we know were gonna be way better off when we start working but something about finding yourself w other people u enjoy having in ur life is deff prolly as good as it gets socially ngl. im doing an internship at a big tech company n everyone has their life together, but there is that youth aspect that is completely absent which makes me wonder whether these ppl are truly as happy as us broke kids.
That’s a super good point and it’s the part of college I miss the most. I felt such little pressure from myself or anybody else to have it figured out. And I definitely miss that freedom
You seem to be very articulate in the way that you not only structure your thoughts meticulously well but also the way you are able to translate them into verbal expressions. With that being said, the constant cussing sort of pulls away from the essence of your, what seems to be, a very highly refined personality. Please don’t take this the wrong way, just something I hope you think about. Love your videos btw, you’ve helped me deal with my social media addiction. Take care :)
@@jacobdreamsasmr Just a perspective i’ve harboured over the years that people who cuss repeatedly usually have a terrible vocabulary. You on the other hand seem intelligent and thorough in your line of thought which is why I said what I did
@@batoolalliVery interesting. I’d like to share a different perspective. I honestly didn’t take much notice of the cursing as I was focused on the content of the message and not the words themselves. I typically find it very pretentious when people call out other adults cursing. If you found him well spoken otherwise then what is the issue? I’m genuinely curious. What is the harm in cursing. I find that it helps to emphasize and I see no harm in using it in a casual setting such as this. I’m interested to hear your take on that.
I’m in college and sometimes I’m like, what the fuck am i doing with my life
Same here ur not alone
Read my previous comment. College is just a small part of what your success entails.
i’m doing that in high school
