I found the Game after this boss easier... Not easy but not as hard... or maybe that Boss Just made me harder... kind of much creepier, yeah that for Sure.

King of Puppets (fake big form) has such a cool design. He is somehow both robotic and extremely expressive. Just look at that intro cutscene! I also love his tune-arms so much!
Once i started to treat the second phase of this boss as a bloodborne boss it really clicked. I really do have a love/hate relationship with these bosses. 😂

It doesn’t matter how many times you fail as long as you beat it in the end! These games are brutal but feel so rewarding to beat. I love lies of p and bloodborne but absolutely hate demons souls, could not get into that game at all. I need to give dark souls 2 another try
@@leonc9760 Why brother? There is only one souls game that I consider the most difficult, and that's demon souls. The PlayStation 5 remake is beautiful and challenging, and I think it's one of the best games ever made.
I loved that you kept the dancing to the record in the video! The records are a vibe. I put on my most recent record to play while I did my thing at hotel krat, got some good dialogue from NPC unexpectedly and the music in the BG made it so magical next level feeling!
Not even future, just what they did now. They essentially made a mid-80s game on Metacritic that runs smooth as butter with beautiful graphics with a smaller team. That's incredible.

Finally caught up to you on this game so I can watch all your videos as they come out! This boss took me FOREVER the other day. Barely beat first phase in my first attempt with zero healing left only to see that menace come out after…. Absolutely heartbreaking and amazing all at once
Mati, check out shot put. It's a theowable item. When the enemy gets the staggerable health bar, just throw a shot put at him - immediadely staggers him.
I actually loved this boss. The first phase is great for parrying and staying close to him, while the second felt really easy if you just... dodge. Some parries here and there. Don't play the game like it's sekiro. I made that mistake for a little bit. Also, wish he used that dancers saber he got last episode. I'm using it and it feels really good and is great for a technique build with some motivity. Pretty good damage
I always find it interesting which bosses are harder or easier for others. This boss with my build for some reason was a breeze, but I really struggled with others. Regardless another amazing entry into this series.
Strength build slaps all of them. Feels like Eredim from Mortal Shell. All can be cheesed with throwables, stack damage, & properly leveled weapons/arm & related gear.
It took me about 17 tries but when i finally beat Romeo I absolutely DESTROYED him. Took almost no damage. I don’t usually impress myself in games like this but i have to admit it felt pretty damn good.

ah this game is so good! cant believe you figured out the check ground thing i had to google it was driving me crazy. Also the move that kept knocking you up into the air in the first phase you have to stand right next to him and the wind doesnt get you xD you said "dont stand close!" but thats exactly what you had to do haha

@@FSVR54 agreed. I would’ve preferred the traditional souls boss rush rather than just climbing and mobs. It became a little tedious. Especially when you pretty much have what you need to beat the game, the late game items didn’t so much for my build. Still, I really enjoyed it far more than I thought I would 👍
That whirldwind attack when the King of Puppets swing their hands in a tornado form. You suppose to go towards it and inside the circle not outside. Basically just hug him. That's why you got him so much by it.
Mild "Spoilers" a head in terms of Tips for the Boss, don't read on If you want to find the best strategies yourself. Got some Tips for those still struggeling, the Attack that Mati never avoided... you have to stay close to the Boss. You can tell if to stay close or far, if you pay attention if the Boss crouches down or stands up straight while sucking in Air. Low-get away, high - stay close. And another Tip, for Phase 2, and discovering this to me felt nearly like a Cheat - Dodge to the front and left, between 10 and 11 o'clock. This takes away so much pressure from the Boss, and sprinting to the Boss after dodging enables you to consistendly hit the Boss 2-3 Times... the Dodge to the front is a good way to fight a lot of enemies in this game I found. Good luck and have fun.
47:57 - in case anyone is struggling with this, you have to get close to the boss in order to avoid getting hit. The other AOE is immediately around him and has a short range, the tornado has a huge range but a safe zone immediately around the boss. Took me way too long to figure that out, but it's counterable once you know how it works. In fact, the first time Mati encountered that move in this video, he avoided it by being close.
I think there was a safe in the room you didnt check in the Opera house, right after you fought the 2nd bi-gender usher after the Trinity room. I missed the cryptic vessel in the Opera House, it was the last one I needed so thatnks for that.
My favorite boss in the game,also a pro tip, If the bosses health barturns white you can stagger it using a shot put, I didn't know this until my third playthrough.
My boy Romeo went to the "Malenia Blade of Miquella School of Spinning Around Like a Top with a Sword" I was actually typing this right as you gave Malenia a shout out in the video too 😂
Nice job on this boss! One of the best bosses in the game imo. Although it's pretty unintuitive, to dodge that tornado attack you kept getting caught by, you need to stand right next to him, not run away
@@conniefan123 Hard agree, Waterfowl is bullshit if she uses it close up but this is way more balanced and has more forgiveness for dodging. I still maintain that Malenia is a boss meant for Sekiro or BB.
Hands down my favorite boss in the game, for story and combat reasons! In my ng+ run, killing him made me sad lol. Kinda wish they gave you the option not to in ng+, but your character doesn’t know the truth yet again, so I get why you can’t. Great job, enjoying watching your playthrough!
Got past this guy recently. Could really wreck the first form but second phase was crazy. The speed, damage, and constant attack really wasn’t expected. But like any Souls game, you just get that one fight where everything clicks and what was a roadblock gets beat easier than you thought. Enjoy watching you slog through this. We are at about the same spot in the game. Looking forward to what is next! EDIT: Despite how brutal this fight was, this is my favorite boss so far. Second phase reminds me of Orphan of Kos, which my favorite from Bloodborne.
IMHO, the reason this game is harder is bc bosses are 'human sized'. I always struggled with human sized bosses, which this game has more than its share
This boss is awesome, up there with laxasia and swamp monster on the difficulty. Simon and nameless puppet is ridiculously easy tho. However for ng+ the last 3 bosses got buffed pretty hard. Last 3 bosses was pretty challenging on ng+.

"I have to kill you to stop it all. there's no other way!" "It's all going up in flames . . . Bright, white flames." "the laws of the grand covenant bind us. we're his puppets" "I'm burning up!" "Who's the puppet? you or me?" "It's gonna be okay, as long as I'm at your side, carlo." "maybe this is what real freedom feels like. thanks, carlo . . ." Romeo seems to have some history with P here. He talks pretty casually at first, and calls you "Buddy" and stuff. That little performance before the boss suggests that Geppetto made you by taking a heart out of a real kid and placing it into a puppet body, which would explain why you're so special, why Geppetto had such a strong reaction to the picture of that kid, and why he seems so enamored with you in particular. In addition, Romeo's necklace has the initial C., and he referenced someone named Carlo in his dialogue, seemingly talking to P. Geppetto also inexplicably appeared after the boss fight for no apparent reason. In addition, we have some references that what they're doing is in accordance with the Grand Covenant and beneficial to humans. All in all, Geppetto is looking real sus in my eyes. Also also, I like the "burnt-white king" name cuz it sounds like DS2's Burnt Ivory King.
The pain is real with the King of Puppets!!! I wanted to reach into the screen and decommission his ice-skating ass with my own hand.🙄 I think the DS way works better in this fight - dodge, slash, dodge, slash and dodge, slash.
Wouldn't it be cool if you had the "option" of not attacking any puppets in the whole chapter and when you reach romeo, you can actually befriend him? That would a nice detail not gonna lie just like djura from Bloddborne
I have to say, watching til now, playing at heavy (even slightly) load REALLY makes the fights more difficult, because of the slow stamina recover. He did beat the game already, I know, but could've been a little "easier" at some parts. Anyways, great gameplay, as always ^^
I struggled with this one but not because I found it hard. It was because pre-nerf phase 1 had more health and with my build it took forever to kill, which ended in me getting bored of repeting it every time, and going all in to get it done faster, losing more Cells on the process, thus having less healing for practice phase 2 😅😂
Btw awesome vid! Congrats on the victory! And also remember you can mix weapons. Since you only used that weapon because of the electroshock damage, you could have switched the handle to get a better/more comfortable moveset, better range or better scaling for your stats!
I found even late game this area is the best spot to grind ergo. maybe it's cause there's multiple bigger enemies, in the spider lady and the wheel guys. But i always come back here to grind ergi for throwables at the black market. If you ever need items mati, go to the area before the boss room, and makes the round of the area where the boss is, you'll get loads of ergo.
So when does the game become easier? Asking for a friend...

This is totally the answer, he's too fast to reliably perfect parry without spending forever learning his moveset.
For some reason his attacks were easier to parry for me than the puppet fodder enemies, his firefowl dance was a lost cause tho

Agree, for me e.g. the archbishop was incredibly easy but Fuoco burned me a ton 😅 but ah well, all bosses can be mastered :)

This takes away so much pressure from the Boss, and sprinting to the Boss after dodging enables you to consistendly hit the Boss 2-3 Times... the Dodge to the front is a good way to fight a lot of enemies in this game I found. 47:57 - in case anyone is struggling with this, you have to get close to the boss in order to avoid getting hit. The other AOE is immediately around him and has a short range, the tornado has a huge range but a safe zone immediately around the boss. Took me way too long to figure that out, but it's counterable once you know how it works.
In fact, the first time Mati encountered that move in this video, he avoided it by being close.
I think there was a safe in the room you didnt check in the Opera house, right after you fought the 2nd bi-gender usher after the Trinity room. I missed the cryptic vessel in the Opera House, it was the last one I needed so thatnks for that.

My favorite boss in the game,also a pro tip, If the bosses health barturns white you can stagger it using a shot put, I didn't know this until my third playthrough.

Nice job on this boss! One of the best bosses in the game imo. Although it's pretty unintuitive, to dodge that tornado attack you kept getting caught by, you need to stand right next to him, not run away

@@conniefan123 Hard agree, Waterfowl is bullshit if she uses it close up but this is way more balanced and has more forgiveness for dodging. I still maintain that Malenia is a boss meant for Sekiro or BB.
Hands down my favorite boss in the game, for story and combat reasons! In my ng+ run, killing him made me sad lol. Kinda wish they gave you the option not to in ng+, but your character doesn’t know the truth yet again, so I get why you can’t. Great job, enjoying watching your playthrough!

Got past this guy recently. Could really wreck the first form but second phase was crazy. The speed, damage, and constant attack really wasn’t expected. But like any Souls game, you just get that one fight where everything clicks and what was a roadblock gets beat easier than you thought. Enjoy watching you slog through this. We are at about the same spot in the game. Looking forward to what is next!
EDIT: Despite how brutal this fight was, this is my favorite boss so far. Second phase reminds me of Orphan of Kos, which my favorite from Bloodborne.

IMHO, the reason this game is harder is bc bosses are 'human sized'. I always struggled with human sized bosses, which this game has more than its share

This boss is awesome, up there with laxasia and swamp monster on the difficulty. Simon and nameless puppet is ridiculously easy tho. However for ng+ the last 3 bosses got buffed pretty hard. Last 3 bosses was pretty challenging on ng+.

Romeo seems to have some history with P here. He talks pretty casually at first, and calls you "Buddy" and stuff. That little performance before the boss suggests that Geppetto made you by taking a heart out of a real kid and placing it into a puppet body, which would explain why you're so special, why Geppetto had such a strong reaction to the picture of that kid, and why he seems so enamored with you in particular. In addition, Romeo's necklace has the initial C., and he referenced someone named Carlo in his dialogue, seemingly talking to P. Geppetto also inexplicably appeared after the boss fight for no apparent reason. In addition, we have some references that what they're doing is in accordance with the Grand Covenant and beneficial to humans. All in all, Geppetto is looking real sus in my eyes.
Also also, I like the "burnt-white king" name cuz it sounds like DS2's Burnt Ivory King.
The pain is real with the King of Puppets!!! I wanted to reach into the screen and decommission his ice-skating ass with my own hand.🙄 I think the DS way works better in this fight - dodge, slash, dodge, slash and dodge, slash.

Wouldn't it be cool if you had the "option" of not attacking any puppets in the whole chapter and when you reach romeo, you can actually befriend him? That would a nice detail not gonna lie just like djura from Bloddborne
I have to say, watching til now, playing at heavy (even slightly) load REALLY makes the fights more difficult, because of the slow stamina recover. He did beat the game already, I know, but could've been a little "easier" at some parts. Anyways, great gameplay, as always ^^

Idk if it’s my build but I found this boss pretty easy though I absolutely loved the fight in general, both phases feel incredible!
Finding that cliff treasure took me forever!!! 😅
I struggled with this one but not because I found it hard. It was because pre-nerf phase 1 had more health and with my build it took forever to kill, which ended in me getting bored of repeting it every time, and going all in to get it done faster, losing more Cells on the process, thus having less healing for practice phase 2 😅😂
Btw awesome vid! Congrats on the victory! And also remember you can mix weapons. Since you only used that weapon because of the electroshock damage, you could have switched the handle to get a better/more comfortable moveset, better range or better scaling for your stats!

And i had horrible time with this boss, but Tyrant murderer's dagger was the weapon for me. Tech updated handle and "dex" almost 40 😊
I found even late game this area is the best spot to grind ergo. maybe it's cause there's multiple bigger enemies, in the spider lady and the wheel guys. But i always come back here to grind ergi for throwables at the black market. If you ever need items mati, go to the area before the boss room, and makes the round of the area where the boss is, you'll get loads of ergo.
I feel you on this boss, he was so hard, but nevertheless it was fun
