Issue 12 was the issue that took Skybound’s Engergon Universe from great to being my personal FAVORITE Transformers story. I’ve always been a proponent of the idea that Optimus should have some pent up demons. He’s at his best when what he desires, and what he believes in, are diametrically opposed, and Skybound GETS that!
That Megatron Arm is corrupting his Brain Module. If that keeps up, it just might serve as an origin for this version of Nemesis Prime. It will need to be repressed later once the Autobots can craft an identical copy of Prime's original arm. That, and Shockwave effectively got his head crushed by a hallucinating Optimus Prime. On that note, the hallucinations may be pointing at a return of the concept of Cyber forming, a term we haven't heard since Transformers Devastation. Skywarp sounds like he is only helping them out of necessity and very limited respect. As much as he may hate the Autobots, he knows they didnt this to him, let alone go as far as his brothers did. I don't think he will fully rebel against the autobots when fully repaired. Rather, he will temper his rage as they were kinder to him. Thundercracker is probably gonna be a different story The only one of the seekers that doesn't know the full story of how Skywarp came to be is Thundercracker. Primus knows how irate and belligerent he will be when he does. Especially when he realizes Soundwave was an accomplice. As for Elita....this woman has been through a tragedy and a half. Forced to fight for centuries, watching comrades fall in so many blunt and undignified ways. Hell, Magnus was mentally scarred after being flayed alive! It's no wonder with all the chaos and fatigue that she just doesn't care about others so long as it means their planet is revived. Prime....I don't know if he did the right thing.
I can totally see this optimus prime ending up becoming nemesis prime. The megatron arm is only fueling that fire inside optimus' slowly reopening darkness's locked box inside his mind.
I haven’t watched the review or 13 & 14 yet because I still haven’t had a chance to pick them up and read them. I’m hoping to get them today or tomorrow. I really need to get my brother to read this because he’d love it. Have you been reading Void Rivals? Lots of Springer and Hot Rod in that one.
We're in a weird spot with Transformers right now where we just had a really good movie (albeit one that unfortunately didn't do well money wise), the comics are great, the toys are (mostly) good, and then Earthspark...is just sort of there.
