As far as City Slicker jitter, I discovered a problem with the factory tires and will do a video on it soon. Basically they have flat spots from sitting and shipping stress that makes the bike bounce. If you watch your first ride video forward camera look at the bouncing but the front forks don't move, suspect tire flat spots. I'll install new tires to test but it won't be anytime soon.

Hello Micah! I bought a new and bigger battery for my ebike. I know a fair bit about RC Lipo batteries but not much yet about batteries made with 18650 cells. Anyway, when I removed the old battery I noticed it has separate charging leads from the discharge leads. Question: does this mean its BMS cannot handle charging from the discharge leads? The new battery that I got has only one set of leads for both charging and discharging. I measured the voltages on the charging and discharging leads of the old battery: they are the same. I want to stick the old battery in my ebike in parallel with the new battery, but that will only work if I can recharge both batteries from their discharge leads. Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.

I have a battery powered EGO lawn mower. If my battery is "rated" for a number of charge cycles, if the battery is not fully exhausted, will a half charge still count as a full charge in this number of predicted charge cycles? Am I shortening the life of my battery if I charge after mowing and not waiting for the BMS to stop the mower motor?
    Thanks for your help.

Hi Micah, Two years ago I built a 36v battery using new Samsung 25R cells and Vruzend caps, 10s 3p. It powered a 350 watt front hub motor on a trike. It was ideal for going around our Retirement Village. Last year I increased the size using recycled cells to 10 s 5p. Everything is working fine but the battery now needs to require recharging more frequently. Do you have any suggestions.

I enjoy your you tube video reviews. I am 63 and I’m interested in getting a EBike to use on streets and mostly on dirt roads for joy riding and scouting for hunting seasons. I live in PA and I saw that we have a 20mph rule for ebikes. Folding ebikes seem interesting (portable), comfortable seat is a must, I’d prefer to use the motor than pedal and I have a budget in mind of say 500to800 dollars (not sure if that’s realistic). Any suggestions? No local bike shops near me even sell ebikes so I guess I’d have to buy Online. Thanks.

Hi. I'm from Brazil and have been very interested in EVs and their batteries in particular. I want to start a conversion EV's workshop in a near future to help to introduce the wonderful world of EV's to the people of my country. I couldn't help to notice that most if not all of their batteries are made assembling small battery cells in groups to achieve a desired tension and capacity. I understand that making and selling a bunch of 18650 cells are easier to the factories, and with the same cells you can achieve various tensions and capacities just by reordering the wiring system. But I was wondering, why doesn't exists, or at least is difficult to find a single cell battery that has, let's say, 48v and 13ah for ebikes. Wouldn't that be easier to charge, less prone to fail overtime because of the simpler construction and less number of parts? Sorry if my question is dumb.

You can hook up 48v, no problems, just make sure your controller can handle 48v. Motors are not rated for volts, they are rated for watts or power, so just don’t exceed the power rating. There is no such thing as a 36v motor, sometimes it’s simpler to speak in those terms but in reality motors only have a power rating, so if you go from 36v to 48v you just have to lower the amps. A 1000 watt motor at 48 volts is about 21 amps, if I run it at 52v I just have to get a controller that is rated for less amps, say 19 and not 21. If you’re going from 36v to 48v and you have a 500 watt motor, you would have to go from a 36v 13 amp controller to a 48v 10 amp controller to decrease the amps for 48v. This channel has a video explaining these concepts.

Hello great videos i have learnt so much from them, i have a question, i am making a battery pack with LG cells. the cells are LG INR18650-MJ1 3500mAh - 10A and i am building a 52v 14s5p configuration. This is my first time so i dont know much but i bought a BMS from vruzen rated at 52v 20amps. The motor and controller will be 48v 1000w. my question is the max current on the BMS is 20 amps (the 30amp one was sold out) will this be ok. I just checked that alot of controllers have a max discharge current of over 20 amps, will this affect the performance or effect the battery in any negative way? should i get a different BMS what would you recommend?

Have a question. I wont trust anyone else to answer. So if i have 2 electric motors both rated at 1 horsepower or 745 watts. At the same voltage and amprage will the power of both motors be identical. I know some motors are rated differnt power at differnt voltages. I am asking because i have 2 e motors rated at 250 watts at 24 volts. They are similar size & weight but feel differnt in terms of torque and definitely top speed is not the same. Help?$??!?!

I have a $200 hub drive kit from ebay and a $300 battery from bananza 48v 1000w it will do 25mph and I do not peddle ever . 3 years ride it 20 miles every day going great now only time spent on work stand was brake pads

Love your videos, very informative and well put together. Definitely need to make myself a 2x2 ebike as well. Anyway, really my only question, one that I keep asking myself, is why has everyone forgotten about scooter ebikes? Im not talking about those stupid razor scooters, but actual scooters. Those big, 2 person vespa style bikes. It seems these days, wherever you look, everyone just talks about modified bicycles as being ebikes and those silly childrens razor scooters as electric scooters. I have one of those big 2 person scooters, with the big trunk, large cargo under the seat, all the bells and whistles. Anyway, would love to know how we've all forgotten about those. Thank you for posting all these videos and please dont stop. :) Oh and Ive just upgraded my bike. Added an extra battery to boost it to 72v. New 1500w/50A controller, with the 750C display and a 1000w motor. Thanks again.

I love those scooters. I post about them all the time on Electrek. I ride a GenZe 2.0 and the thing is AMAZING!

@@EbikeSchool Ill have to check out that Electrek site. That GenZe is a very cool looking bike. Quite different from what you normally see in this class of ebike. Thank you for the reply. :)
Oh and if I may ask another question, one for another AMA. Are you originally from Israel or did you make Aliyah? If you did, how was your experience, and was it through Nefesh B'Nefesh by chance? Thanks again :)
