With Starlink, we mounted ours permanently so not setting up modem or leads. But still take down during travel. Its mounted using Starlink roof mount bracket next to roof hatch. Easy to reach out and grab it as it just clicks in and out of bracket. Then it fits in a cupboard. Its up high, cant be flogged or broken and easy to put out. If you want the option to put out away from the van, just buy a second lead. Hope this helps you decided what's best for you.
@@brodieh7599get under the house and install insulation between the joists. Adding a thin layer between the existing flooring and a floating floor is going to do bugger all. These pair need to stop buying so much crap and think about what they're doing. It'll save them time, money and will stop so much waste. They just threw away several skip bins of stuff in Cairns and sold all their other belongings for bugger all. Now they're buying everything again. Would have been better to ship it all from Cairns to Gelong instead of overloading their vehicle, van and timber boat. Do some research guys and make plans. Stop winging it and wasting time and energy.
I know youve already made your decision on the flooring but if you hadn't id say "keep the existing floor boards" UNTIL you return from your around Aussie travels. Travel will change you as individuals and a couple/family and your preferences for the house might also change.
Are you fixing up a rental home as a job for the owner or doing it just for yourselves to have nice flooring while staying there? In the US most people would not do free repairs to a rental we’d make the owner do it because we’re greedy and cheap 😂
We went with 5mm thick vinyl planks..They have a woodgrain in them & feel great.

I would sand and lacquer the hard wood flooring,way better than flouting flooring.
