A stroll around Borough Market in Southwark South London

Do you eat? Do you drink? Then you’ll love Borough Market on the south side of the Thames at London Bridge (and contrary to the children’s rhyme, it’s not falling down. That was the first one. This is the third and it’s good and strong).
Borough Market nestles under the railway bridges of London Bridge mainline station in the shadow of The Shard just a street away. Another example of historic and present day architecture sitting side by side with each bringing their own elegance to the City.
There has been a market on this Thames-side site since at least the 13th century and it is thought, for long before that. The current buildings were constructed in 1851 with the boom in the railways and a new entrance (where we start this film) handsome & Art Deco since 1932.
It was started by wholesale food vendors but has evolved into the famously diverse and quality-driven retail space it is today.
We filmed on a relatively quiet day between Christmas and New Year to show more produce and less duvet coats! So enjoy a look at the pubs, restaurants and amazing displays of one of our favourite spots for a wander and lunch on a Saturday with friends.
