- In today's video I'll show you how to rescape a mature aquarium without completely tearing it down and starting over. We'll reuse the soil and some of the plants and create a brand new hardscape layout. Finally we'll add new plants to enhance the aquascape.

Love the video bro! Tank looks incredible too!
The rescape looks great bud! I’m a huge fan of uns products especially controsoil! Also suspending the light is a game changer! I want to try that yo-yo retractable cable that Jurijs did a video a while ago on! It’s so cool! You connect the cables to the ceiling and the light can retract up down for maintenance! Plus no light stand bar to see so it looks like the light is floating!
I remember editing that video for Jurijs' channel. It's a cool system
@@LoganRandoAquascaping yeah I will be getting it eventually when I set up the 60u! I just need cables long enough for a 9 ft ceiling 😂
love the new scape!
A re haul on a project can be so cathartic 💚. I just installed the last plants in my 29 gal Iwagumi last night and it was so satisfying to get my hands in that tank again after about a month to finally finish it off. It's like I got a brand new tank again. Congrats on the refresh to your personally life as well👍 Great video!
Cathartic indeed! Hope your 29 gal develops nicely with those new plants
love your video bro! keep up the great work and wish you the best of luck!
Appreciate it!
Thx for sharing your true😮 sometimes it happend
Definitely. Happy to share the ups and downs of this awesome hobby
Good to have you back Logan❤ Sorry to hear about your girlfriend. Love your honesty about fighting algae, and looking forward to more content
Glad you enjoy the algae commentary. It's something I want to talk about a lot because we all deal with it in some capacity
I love your video style and it's nice to see you posting again! Speaking of algae...
I bought a 7.5 gallon for shrimp to that I scaped with some dragontsone, and Mopani wood. I then planted java ferns, rotala rotundafolia, and dwarf hairgrass, let it cycle for several days then drip acclimated shrimp but...all the shrimp ended up dying a month and a half later. Ended up rescaping it another month after that and took out the mopani wood. It's been 2 months since then and there's tons of algae, so I dropped in a two albino cory catfish and a nerite snail. I'm thinking about getting two more catfish and another snail, but I don't know. I really don't want to start over again. Ugh. Thoughts?
You've gotta address the root cause of your algae which is gonna be an imbalance between lighting, ferts, CO2 or a water quality/maintenance issue.
In tackling the diatom issue, did you need to do anything to your filter? Very useful video...I always appreciate learning about how to deal with 'problems' that arise in a tank :)
Really just ensure the filter is clean/flowing well and not extremely dirty or clogged
nice rescape. looks great. didn't have much luck with p. helferi in my tank, think it prefers harder water.
The water is quite hard here and seems to be thriving. It's blown up in growth very quickly. Eleocharis is a bit stunted at the moment
I’m proud of the improvements your making - both in your personal life & aquascapes 🫶🏼
Thank you, I appreciate that
what you do with old aqusoil ? how can we reuse old aqusoil?
Just add lots of root tabs to it and a bit of new soil on top
Replenish nutrients with root tabs every 3 to 6 month or so. I did that off camera
