    I just watched almost all your videos. I’m glad you make them. I’m planning on opening one myself when I finish residency

    I second all your points. Especially: 1) Just go for it. 2) Don't save pennies and compromise on getting good tools. 3) Good boundaries, especially with early adopters of your practice. 4) Don't wear too many hats. Subtracting is often better than adding a bunch of things.

    These are very helpful tips. I would add that the process of opening my own psychiatric practice has been an emotional roller coaster. Thank you!

      Hire an experienced office manager, preferably one that has worked in every area of a medical practice and trust them when they tell you about compliance. Have monthly meetings but leave the day to day to your OM. You be the doctor and let your admin be the admin.

      Oh, and don't let your wife micro manage your staff especially if she doesn't have a clue. 😅

    How did you see the light when it came to the 'control issues'? Good points man.

      I bounce a lot of ideas off my wife and older brother. Both told helped me realize that I have to give up control and manage people to let them do great things to keep growing my practice.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences. How do you bill for text messaging questions/answers? Do you get paid per question? Is there an app you use for this or is it through the EMR you use?

    • @InvestingDoc
      @InvestingDoc  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We bill through our EMR. We can add on a charge to the portal messages. However, we stopped mostly charging for them because patients were getting very upset at getting a bill even though we told them ahead of time, and we were getting paid only like $4 for all the work of answering portal messages back and forth. It is not worth it. We change them to telemed appts and have a script that we basically say we will not respond any more about this topic that an appt is required.
