What makes you think the #1 luxury SUV that’s been unchanged for 4+ years will suddenly lose any value it had once the slightly updated model is revealed? Removing the Duramax as an option is a poor choice on GM's part. It's a great powerplant for more efficient road trips and towing. Diesel is even cheaper than 91 gas (recommended for the 6.2) in my area so it's better fuel efficiency wise and fuel cost wise as well. Getting 20+ MPG on the highway with the Duramax is better than maybe 20 MPG with the 6.2L. It's likely the demographic that buys the Escalade that removed the Duramax. Thankfully, the Chevy and GMC SUVs can still have it...for now.

Their idea is that the Escalade is so luxurious (specially now) that a diesel is just stupid, they want people to buy the Escalade IQ if they want to save gas 100% or maybe there will be a plug in hybrid Escalade so a diesel is just stupid since most people buy the V8 version, it would have been worse to still have the diesel option but a V6 turbo as gas engine.

Nice. A question. That little side table or laptop stand at roughly the 14 sec mark, is that an available option/accessory, and will that work for the driver in the front row too? When parked of course. I was planning on a 2025 Escalade Sport Platinum with the improved diesel for its great mpg. If it is not available then I will likely not get an Escalade Too bad. Terrible decision Cadillac. And I have zero interest in an all electric EV, doesn't give me the flexibility I need. though I might have considered a decent hybrid like the Powerboost on the F150's. I do like the idea of an optional rear center console though, low so the pass thru for long items from the rear would still be there.

I don’t think people are confused about if *gm* is keeping Apple CarPlay, i think *gm* has made it clear their latest gen. infotainment systems no longer _need_ CarPlay but people like you are paid actors pushing the narrative that they do. I think folks who feel the only way they can buy a vehicle is if CarPlay is available are confused.
Those headlight modules aren’t from the Escalade _IQ_ this execution is unique to the gasoline Escalade and the differences are clear when they’re side-by-side. Y’all have never really cared to get the details correct on a Cadillac around these parts so can’t say that I’m surprised.

Do you work for GM? Because you seem to be pushing a narrative that suggests you do. Many (if not most) people do in fact care about Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The auto manufacturers should focus on building quality vehicles (something that is quite lacking these days) and let the technology companies like Apple and Samsung handle infotainment. We all know GM doesn’t have a good track record of quality infotainment experiences. And even if their new stuff is better, why would you want to be sucked into their paywall? Because that’s what you’re ultimately buying into. You want certain features? Better pay up for that subscription fee. And if not now, it will be that way in the future. Especially, if we continue to give the auto manufacturers even more control over the vehicles that we buy. Most people don’t want more fees, and would much rather use the phone they are already paying for. They aren’t confused. They’re actually quite smart. And there’s absolutely no reason they shouldn’t be allowed to have options. It’s not hard to just let people choose what they want.

@@TH-camr4Life4Ever Again, you’re hitching yourself to Apple simply because you’re trying to run away from a subscription plan you’re too cheap to subscribe to that doesn’t help you when your phone is lost/stolen or damaged by a spilled drink. A built-in more advanced infotainment system connected to the internet directly from the car will be more useful to families and people on the daily.
Where is the logic in trying to keep a company you just bought a brand new car from out of the way of your hard earned money when you just handed them the money to take their product home? Unfortunately for you, Apple doesn’t make cars and auto manufacturers don’t sell smartphones so they have to collaborate and that’s what *gm* just did. Now you want to boycott the auto manufacturer because it requires the same type of subscription Apple Music now requires with or _without_ transportation or a way around. Apple has you by the balls and you’re clueless, sweetheart.

What sensible reason are you referring to? So because GM says we don’t need CarPlay, we just roll over and agree with them? That makes zero sense. My point above still stands. Once we, as the consumers, bow down to corporate greed, there is no coming back from that. But that’s fine, you keep paying your subscription fees to access the features on your vehicle.
