  • Autoimmune disease affects 50 million Americans. It occurs when the body's immune system attacks healthy cells and tissues by mistake. Rheumatologist Benjamin Plotz, MD, discusses the causes and symptoms, and why some autoimmune diseases are hard to treat. Watch now via ‪@fox5dc‬. Learn more: bit.ly/3NBMFuR

People in the US are under lot of stress with full time work, no free childcare and housing expenses being so high, this may develop autoimmune disease too.

What if autoimmune disorders aren't really autoimmune disorders! Maybe there is something " antigens" or whatever that manipulate the immune system or that spread in multiple parts of the body " based on type of disease " and when immune system try to fight that foreign particles there happens the collateral damage. there are some points I thought of when trying to put that argument. 1. In 99% one is not born with the disease so the immune system was working properly then usually after the age of 20 it starts behaving strangely. 2. All autoimmune disease tend to flare up that when the damage happens it goes into remission before it hits back. My point here is that if the immune system is not functioning properly why it hits and then stops for a certain period of time before it hits again. 3. No matter how they try to suppress the immune system still there is flares! Damages continue 4. Why autoimmunity has a wide range of manifestation, some attacks the brain and CNS, some attacks the thyroid gland, some attacks the skin, some attacks blood vessels some attacks the liver etc." more than 80 autoimmune diseases ". Decades have past and no matter how they find new ways to suppress the immune system even with high chemotherapy doses like in HSCT the disease tends to relapse! I've always wondered when they are going to declare that suppression of immunity is waste of time and health of the patients and instead of that they put real effort to find the real cause and fix it? What do you think?

Do you find it interesting that women get it 2 times more than men? Wouldn't have anything to do with low testosterone would it? And the next thing is its in the Cells so has it been determined that it may be connected to Zice Deficiency? Healthy people do not need a doctor, remember that!

@@beckiwildeman600 yes. In many AIDs women are more likely to have it. The exception is Behçet's disease. Although it is yet for the doctors to decide if it is an autoinflammatory or an autoimmune disease ( we are in 2023 and they don't know yet so they say it is an autoinflammatory with autoimmune response to some unknown reasons) but it tends to be more serious in male patients and it tends to hit more men than women. The strange thing is that in many female patients, the disease goes into remission during pregnancy.

Research is changing and women deserve more respect and attention in all areas of research. Women aren’t men and medicine should be the first to be well aware- hormones, birth- when did women die generally about 100 years ago? How? What did we stigmatize them about then that we now know is not true….women’s hormonal health and health in general has been a major concern in need of respect in so many fields but hormones, along with other inflammatory factors, even including seasonal allergies, a spike then drop before menstruation, birth/ pregnancy, let alone the trauma we still face every day trying to cope and survive and feed our families.

They DO need to research and know themselves better than anyone or any test then, because feeling healthy does not at all mean being healthy. Pay for publications you have researched and trust, read and analyze every word and assume you may not know the depth of knowledge of the researchers, check funders (usually where we see research is when it gets funding and that rarelyyyyy if ever has to do with saving human beings, read and scrutinize and analyze and speak up and don’t ever accept an answer ABOUT you that you don’t have faith in. If you can, keep going until you get your answers and (kindly) push through til you get someone to SEE and hear you because no one knows what’s happening to you by a quick check in and by standing up for your own health you’re standing up and helping somebody else….women deserve better

It is interesting to look into causes of conditions which attack the body, since my experience with hemifacial atrophy I have been making sure to get adequate nutrition, vitamin d3 for example helps to regulate the immune system, and k2 can help reduce inflammation and protect cells from oxidative injury. I would also suggest watching intake of anti-nutrients found in certain foods as for some people, these anti nutrients such as lectins have been shown to contribute to leaky gut and inflammation, which are both linked to autoimmunity. Again, just sharing what helped me : )

Emotional trauma can also often be a trigger for a lot of these autoimmune diseases. I suspect that is what triggered mine.

I've just been catapulted into this world of autoimmunity and it's blowing my mind. The immune system not being able to do its job? Ok, so I go to my primary physician today and we set in motion A few processes. Blood work, mammogram, orthopedics, stop, for now. Connect those dots. I'm heavy. Dermatology says I have spinal nerve damage. I have Psoriasis. Another skin ailment led to a biopsy which led to autoimmunity. I am totally confused as to how to fight this! It can require a system of specialists that has to collaborate with each other to reach a conclution they don't have. Roll the dice! I have given most of this to the Lord, especially pain. I asked for comfort and strength and He gave me both. There will be a lot more of it needed in the future. I'm old. I'm ready. It's time to trust the Master.

IT IS SET OF BAD BACTERIAS IN THE GUT OF UNHEALTHY PERSON, IT CAN BE TREATED WITH ANTIBIOTICS BUT PHARMA COMPANIES WANT TO GIVE BIOLOGICS HENCE NO REASEARCH. E.G. It’s deeply psychological. Research should be done on people with suicidal tendencies and their eventual development of autoimmune diseases. It’s the same concept. Attacking yourself. Even if you have the willpower to resist suicide, your body will eventually do it for you if you don’t heal your heart.

I have septic gas smell in my basement and when I said I smelled gas , my family said no one else did, until I heard them saying that they found out what the gas smell was…I get it but really see now how hard people want to avoid extra problems to them- I had just spent a week in the hospital too and luckily survived but found out that next time it’s unlikely, so even when you think you’re being watched out for, sometimes people would just rather be right or something. It’s nice to know people do also experience some of this stuff because I can’t understand it but I’m not everyone and I’m not in their shoes- but one bad experience like that made me feel so alone and like I didn’t exist or matter so, just know how much you all really do and people are just really good at being so kind sometimes and really great at being fall to your knees hurtful sometimes. You matter though no matter what. You and we all do and if u smell gas don’t be quiet like me! I was ashamed. Im not anymore and I am just sorry people can be so cruel- sorry for me in that moment and really hoping if anyone else is in a situation like that know I’m rolling my eyes at whoever said something stupid and rooting for you to believe YOU first

I was born in 1955 and the hospital I was born in became a testing ground for Vaccines.
Now at age 68, I have been battling autoimmune diseases for 2+ decades.
I miss my life. I miss walking without extreme pain.
Strangely, most of my body is pain free now, (using carnivore eating plan) but from my knees
down it is horrific. I am sequestering myself more and more an gave up on M.D.'s long ago.
I believe the vaccines they experimented with my body are a prime example of your health versus my
      now extreme lack of health.
