  • Dancers from all over Japan converge in Tokyo to dance to... Anime music? Welcome to Akibaccano, the 2-on-2 A-Pop dance battle phenomenon that is heating up the street dance scene in Japan. This is Anisong MOGRA mixed with the top dancers in Japan, and everyone attending is an otaku.
I made this video to introduce foreign friends to the A-Pop scene in Japan. Hopefully, they will want to participate in the future. Thank you to all the dancers, DJs and producers.
Special Thanks to Atsuki Suzumiya and the organizers of all A-Pop events.

I'm a bboy that is also a weeb. I love anime, manga, Visual Novels, and VTubers. In my country, I am the only one (as far as I know) who is a bboy but also a huge weeb. I kinda wish that this a-pop dance battle goes around the world, where not only limited to Japanese but also, foreigners like me. I always watch a-pop dance battles in TH-cam and I just love how open they were dancing and expressing with anisongs. It's like, it's not a battle but a place where even if you fail they always be supportive and also, I want to break with anisongs without worrying my surroundings. Even so, I hope someday a-pop dance battles travels around the world.

Thanks for the comment. There is definitely interest in organizing similar events in places like the US. It requires a lot of networking and grassroot support. Hopefully you can participate in person!

I came across an Akibaccano dance battle video by chance and was blown away. As someone who has been to big bboy events, the Akibaccano series of events carries a similar level of energy, but with the familiarity of anisongs. Thanks for this informative video! God I love anime.
