More fun & games in transformer winding land, where up is down, and down is out. Cut a lot out also the video editing software was playing silly buggers, so apologies for glitches.
I was going to say the same thing. Andy, I hope you don't effectively have a big fat shorted turn in the electrostatic screen. Don't worry about the thickness of the copper foil, window space is more important. It's really as the name says an electrostatic screen to screen noise on the mains. If there is a fault to it then there are bigger problems and the primary fuse should blow anyway.
wow talk about hand winding reminds me of seeing people hand looming big bloody rugs !
Couldn't weave a rug but then & again with a bit of effort & having a go anything's possible. TFW.
When you wind on the “electrostatic shield” AKA screen, you have to insulate it from itself where it overlaps. Otherwise you have a shorted turn.

Missed this comment, for the record I did insulate the ends of the screen so it didn't create a shorted turn.
Good progress Andy, I know what you mean re window space disappearing in front of your eyes bringing on anxiety! : )
Aye, it's freaky and very worrying, still, who dares wins.... hopefully. TFW, Andy.
