Thanks. For me the most noticeable difference was the feedback I was looking for in my body, that I got from the horse and when taught I was expected to give my teacher all of which reinforced the learning and made it so much more reproduce-able. This makes it so much clearer when folks ask.

Riding with your mind is taking a pretty specific concept like adding more tone into the middle of my right board (waistline under right suspender) and deep practicing it physically until it is has become muscle memory. I ride with not enough tone if I am not concentrating pretty easily. If I think about adding tone, I will instantly add a "gesture" of tone, straight narrow boards, lower back a little more straight, shoulders back and elbows down, shortened centerline....etc. I thought about it with my mind, my body "made it so" in an instant.

A friend recommended your book several years ago. It took me awhile to get into "Mary Wanless," but now you're a favorite. Thanks so much for all the great info!

Fantastic! Thank you. I often get asked what exactly is RWYM and I've always had trouble explaining it. No longer =) I shall share this with my riding friends. =)

Its so, so interesting how absent-minded-ly people ride. How unaware they are of what is actually happening between them and the horse. How incapable they are of visualizing their intentions and goals. I've encountered riders who are so involved in their own 'perfections/imperfections' that they are unable to open their minds. They cannot see the wood for the trees. Those that are open minded are such a pleasure to work with and teach, their brains are like sponges and their bodies are malleable like clay. To break down the 'brick walls' in the minds of those that think they know it all is a true challenge.
