As a former shortstop who retired for 12 years, I listen to you from time to time to keep my unconscious loaded with good habits and I THANK YOU for that opportunity-as I’m only able to play a few weeks every 4 months. I truly wish you would do a Halloween edition in which you emulate Paul Bearer, I’m telling you it would be a total gas and reach so many! Love your open mind and how you put thoughts into words. “Playing with reckless abandonment” is a goal for us all, as stress is the lack of control and open freedom can allow us such a liberating and empowering time at the table.
This vid creeped up on my just in the knick of time as my alignment has eluded me...but after this video, I will be back at the table tomorrow after work ready to 'LOCK'' and load!! Thanks heaps from New Zealand!
This lesson has immediately brought me back to pre-Covid form, possibly even better. I’ve suffered balance issues since getting the virus and couldn’t naturally see the angle of the object ball anymore. Your “chin lock” and and “approach” technique before my practice strokes and “set” has has given me a surefire way to know I’m in alignment even when my brain is telling me different from the Covid side effects. Thanks!
Thank you for always adding to my practice drills. Great drill to help solidify your alignment. Awesome drill no doubt, Thank you and Happy New Year Anthony!!!!!
Many thanks. Your right eye set up at address was my missing piece of the puzzle. I had been setting up from the center of my body. Now, I literally don’t miss and getting real dangerous.
Glad it’s helped you to improve! Love to have you in my online class. Call me for a free consultation: 606-669-8401. We are currently running a March special.
Great tips. I'm a very solid player, (8-9 speed) but I am rusty because I took a 10-year break. And I'm finding things just don't always feel right, so I'm having to go back to the basics. This was very helpful. Ive found the front foot needs to be pointed parallel or close to parallel to the shot line.
My record is 55 balls without a miss and no ball in hand (closed eyes). Just play from the position. This drill is best for those who can't stand still during the shot. When u close ur eyes and shoot u never move ur head up. This drill 30 mins every day helps u standing still. It helped me a lot 👌
Try it again with the blast shield down, reach out with your feelings, week the shot go in the pocket, you have just taken the first steps in to a larger world. 😁
I am 66 years old and I wish I had this info and the benefit of this instruction when I was younger. I am currently a 7 in APA Nine ball but I feel like I am a weaker 7 than most. I have only shot APA for a year. I would have been a strong 7 and maybe even a mid level 8 when younger even though I lacked this knowledge and consistency. I only found your videos 2 weeks ago and already it has improved my game. Thanks much.
Great! Thanks for the sub! If I can ever help you with any personalized instruction let me know. Tomorrow is the last day of my March online course special. Be glad to give you a free phone consultation. Give me a call: 606-669-8401. I appreciate your support!

Love this video. I'm a golf coach & instructor so don't get to play pool as much as I'd like to. I'm right eye dominant. You talk about putting the right side of your shoe on your shot line. What if you turn your feet out a little? My right foot would be across my shot line not parallel to or alongside it. Thanks for your help!
It’s a very precise thing. Vision center is the best answer. You have to do several tests and then work on your foot placement to be sure your vision center is on the shot line. Everything I posted in the video is general information. Will not be perfect for everyone. Love to have you in my online class. Call me at 606-669-8401 for a free consultation.
I missed the part where you said to close your eyes just before the shot to test your alignment. So first time watching you shoot I was wondering what the heck you were doing 😉
Thank you for your excellent video instruction. I am right handed and have a natural tendency to swing the butt of the cue to the right during the stroke. Is there an easy fix for this problem?
Yes there is... I can resolve your stroke problems at Virtual Billiard Academy... if you would like a free consultation call me at 606-669-8401 or visit poolteacher.com for more information. It’s a process but I can help you.
Make sure your stroke is appropriately long for each shot and that your grip is far back enough that it’s not restricted in Y-axis movement. That Y-axis tension with a straight aiming line and follow through will keep your stroke from deviating
I also noticed that when you were shooting the 15 balls, at address, your forearm wasn't hanging vertically from your elbow therefore your right hand was in front of vertical from your elbow. Yet, it works for you. I'd like your thoughts please.
Do you give in-person lessons? Recently got back into pool after a 15 yr break, I'm having difficulty with consistency and getting back to the level I once played at (B+/A- range). I think it's mainly a fundamentals problem.
Your videos are always helpful, thank you. I’m right handed with a very dominant left eye. If i aimed with a slight head tilt would that effect my delivery as I find pushing my whole heard across my target line uncomfortable
Shift the aim point in the direction of the throw. (On object ball). Outside English, thinner hit. Inside English, thicker hit. Speed will change this, only practice develops your feel for it.
@@nghiton08 yes it’s actually not a square stance. It’s designed to allow someone who has the opposite side eye dominance in relation to their grip arm. I go into specific detail in my online class and address all that with photos and diagrams. Love to have you in the class. Call me for a free consultation: 606-669-8401
that 15 ball is to easy for you. need to run then in order LOL. I see the point though. your really focusing on mechanics and alignment and its harder to do if your having to play a ton of position on the cueball like rotation.
I’m just showing what most people need to do. Modeling the correct drill for most players. Yes, with 100 percent focus mechanics and alignment. Thanks for watching!

Gives new meaning to "I can't believe I missed that shot - I should've been able to make it, with my eyes closed!"
I missed the part where you said to close your eyes just before the shot to test your alignment. So first time watching you shoot I was wondering what the heck you were doing 😉
Great video! Does vision center not come into play? Not everyone's vision center is under their dominant eye.
Correct. Watch my video on lane diffusion
Do you use edge of shaft on only side pocket cut shots
I prefer to focus my eyes on the resting point of the ghost ball. That - I can see.

Would you mind to reiterate you insights & or suggestion here... thanks.
Try running your cue across your chest lightly when you stroke. If you hold the cue in place against your chest the stroke should be true.
I also noticed that when you were shooting the 15 balls, at address, your forearm wasn't hanging vertically from your elbow therefore your right hand was in front of vertical from your elbow. Yet, it works for you. I'd like your thoughts please.
I’ve played a lot with the slip stroke and that’s an adaptation for cue release that I still do on occasion. Great question

on the 10min 39sec something happened?
Yes, I knocked the camera over. LOL
What about a problem like kicking your arm out( chicken wing)? Is there a drill you recommend to do to stop this?
I’m right handed but left eye dominate? What do I do?
Sir, I could follow your video until you says "I am just gonna shoot and the ball goes into the pocket".
Your videos are always helpful, thank you. I’m right handed with a very dominant left eye. If i aimed with a slight head tilt would that effect my delivery as I find pushing my whole heard across my target line uncomfortable
Most people’s center line of vision isn’t directly under their dominant eye though… otherwise we’d all be shooting pool with one eye closed! 🤣
How do you adjust for English, or spin?
Shift the aim point in the direction of the throw. (On object ball).
Outside English, thinner hit.
Inside English, thicker hit.
Speed will change this, only practice develops your feel for it.
Are you using a back hand pivot on some of your shots?
Yes and tuck and throw.... I teach both
What if you are right handed and left eye dominant, which I am
You will use more of a boxer style stance.
@@poolteacher can you clarify more of what that means?

do u look at object ball last or cue ball last ?
Object ball! You should never look at the cue ball last. It will hold your game back.
Not meaning anything political by it, but I bet you do a heck of a Bill Clinton impression. Your voices are almost identical.
You are not the first person to tell me that! 😂🤣

Strange I have a 400 dollar microphone that I use now. You must be watching an old video.
