This is soo cute! My husband and I are in MO and are starting a coffee truck this year. Fingers crossed we are open in May 🤞🏼Once we get in the swing of things we want to add a cart as well. So this was very helpful to see just how easy the setup/takedown can be! I’ve been watching your videos since you were doing pop up events so it’s so cool to see your progress. Thanks again for sharing!! ❤️
we're a mobile coffee company in Michigan too! (Char'latte Coffee Co) just to let you know, if you take your line out of your water jug and purge your line, you can leave the water pump board outside, no freezing happens for us! if that makes it easier for you 🤷♀️. our line is connected to our pitcher rinser so we just put a empty cup over it and push down until it starts spitting to let us know the line is clear, so idk if that part makes a difference but yeah, we've left everything in our garage all winter last year and this year and no issues so far.
I work at a school and I am looking to create a coffee cart for my students. Are you still planning to create a video about the water system? If not, can you point me in the direction to find out more information? Thank you so much for your video. It was super informative.
I am from india. I am planning to start a coffee shop soon. I started searching for infra and other details. your video is really useful for me. I should have to admit that you look so cute...❤❤
It’s just four dish bins! 3 of them are on one table with a kettle that gets to a high enough temp and the fourth bin is on its own with a jug of water, soap, and paper towel.
@@steveprice5715 Each county can be a little different, so you'll have to reach out to yours, but it worked out for me and my roaster! You'll need to make sure the dish bins fit your largest piece of equipment, and that your kettle can warm to the correct temperature.
what kind of licenses or legal things do you need to have a cart/pop up ?? i am trying to figure it all out before starting my coffee pop up venture here in California, but it is so confusing !! lol INCREDIBLE JOB ON ALL YOUR JOURNEY !! it is so fun watching you &your growth ✨✨
I highly suggest reaching out to your local health department. They will be able to email you plans specific to your county - each state is a little different!
$500 per year in inspection fees and they come out twice!?!? Michigan is crazy! In Indiana it depends on your menu type but for my coffee truck it cost $79 for the year and there is only one inspection.
Wow! It's a $500 initial inspection for us and then $90 twice a year after that. It's definitely steep especially when we don't sell those high ticket food items that other mobile units do.
@@haileypolidori5824 is there a national food truck union? There should be something that makes it easier, cheaper, and makes more sense in operating a small business/food/drink service.
Hello. What brand and model of espresso machine do you use for your cart? Does it have a built in motor? My larger ship machine has a motor mounted below.
Everything heavily depends on your county. In some counties you can serve private events (cater) without being inspected, but in just about every state if you want to serve the general public at markets etc. you will have to go through an inspection. Don't be intimidated by them - the health department should send you a list with everything you need to pass! In Michigan carts follow the same inspection process that food trucks do.
How do you get around the plan of review for a 3 compartment sink and hand washing sink? I want to start a business like this but they require a 3 compartment sink and hand washing sink.
Some counties will let you use dish bins and a hot water kettle as a makeshift sink. You just need to make sure they are labeled - wash, rinse, sani and handwashing. It is always required that you also have soap and paper towels by the hand washing station and a bucket to dump your gray water into :)
Do you have to register for state business tax to collect/charge taxes for a coffee cart? Does a coffee cart have to worry about taxes at all? Any info will help! TY!
I am in the process of getting my coffee cart running. I am in the process with the health department and it has been a PAIN. Did you have any issues with your coffee cart being wood? The first thing my health department sent over was that wood was not permitted and my entire cart is made of wood and is collapsable.
Each county is a little different, which can make things tricky. For us as long as it was painted and sealed/a wipeable surface we were all set. Maybe ask if you can get a food safe sealer to coat the entire bar in?
Thanks for the selfless sharing. I love your logos. They are super cute.❤

Such a cool set up! I appreciate the sleek design and cable management details. Please keep posting videos of this cart and how it is set up

Hi Hailey!
Could you please do a video of how you set up your approved pop-up handwashing and dish sink!

Hi Hazel!
Do you have the dimensions for this cart? I’m thinking of building my own but not sure what width, height, and depth I should shoot for
Can you share what you came up with the three compartment sink for inspection?

Hello. What brand and model of espresso machine do you use for your cart? Does it have a built in motor? My larger ship machine has a motor mounted below.
We use a Lucca A53 direct plumb machine!
How did the cart do with inspections? I want to have a collapseable coffee cart in MO, but I was told that I have to go through health inspections.

The La Spazzale Direct Plumb Luca!
"Which saved us a ton" - yeah like 5 grand.
Great design! Rather than velcro - a french cleat would be perfect for this application
Thank you! I will look into it
What kind of permit did you end up having to get for your coffee cart?
In Michigan they are called STFUs (Standard Transitory Food Units) - each county is slightly different in how they handle them!
Do you have to register for state business tax to collect/charge taxes for a coffee cart? Does a coffee cart have to worry about taxes at all? Any info will help! TY!
I highly suggest reaching out to a local accountant (each state is different & I am not a tax professional), but we do! :)

48”x 30”x36” you’ll definitely want to make sure it can fit through a standard doorway!

Yes! You can buy the plans from the coffee stream - New Jersey!
Who built this?
A family friend, but we got the plans from The Coffee Stream - New Jersey.
Twice a year ? And they charge you 500 dollars each time ? Darn democrats
