What is the resolution that the camera can output on the head unit? I'm looking for a HD, mostly 4K camera. Would be extremely helpful for my off-roading ventures when I can see in greater detail. If not, is there another option to buy a 3rd party camera with better resolution and optics to attach to the head unit? Thanks a lot, great product that I am most interested in.

The only thing i dont like is the mic has to be out and not in where the OEM mic is located. Is there any way around this?? Or any plans on creating something to be able to put the alpine mic in the OEM mic location.

Just had mine installed in a 2019 RAM 2500 Tradesman. Now I don't get the beep when someone is in my blind spot and I turn on my signal light, I do get the orange triangle in my mirror, but no chime. There were a few things in my OEM radio that controlled my daylight running lights, is that also something I lose with the radio? TIA.

There’s an entire generation of younger crowd that wish we could enjoy the same effects previous Alpines had such as the Alpine ERA dsp … please create an update for our Halo head units.

Hi. You say the unit features wireless carplay and wireless andriod auto. Can you confirm that this is correct? On the Alpine website it's stated that android auto is only supported in wired setup. Thanks for your feedback.

When using Apple car play or Android auto, can you stream Netflix? I currently have a different brand and Netflix used to stream but now it doesn't, the screen just blacks out on all streaming apps. I'll change over to this if I can stream apps like this, it's good for the mrs and kids on long drives.
In my opinion, in neither of the two systems (CarPlay and Androud Auto) is Netflix, or another video streaming app, allowed to be viewed on the car radio screen, as it is an app for viewing content, logic dictates that as long as you are driving you are not watching a film, you have to stay focused on the road, the only way is to use an aftermarket car stereo like this Alpine one to which you can connect an HDMI device (such as Apple TV, Chromecast, etc..) and view content like a TV, however at the expense of YOUR driving concentration. Surely it is a good thing for the other passengers of the car, the important thing is not to exceed the distraction for you driving the car.
Came across this video recently and was impressed with the iLX-F511. For us here in NZ, we get the 511E model, don't know what the real difference is, but looks the same. However, I have been disappointed in the unit, and though it has some features, some of the basics are just not there. For the radio, for one, this appears bare-bone, no RDS for radio info, name or music playing (my $199 plain jane has this feature standard). Cannot get Android Auto Wireless to work, even though it says on my phone it's wireless, and the GPS, what's the point of this, you have to manually set the offset to local time, this should be auto updating for standard and day-light times. Plus other issues. Long winded, but I would not be recommending this system, for what it is and the price.
I saw the literature for the Halo 11 the other day boasting "worlds first class D amp in a headunit", I had to lol, no it ain't, Sony have *2* headunits that are probably 5 or 7 years old now that are 40wrms x4 or over 70wrms x4 @ 2ohm
It looks lagy to me or is it just me? Would love to review one of these on my channel. Would look great on my imported RHD Toyota Chaser 1jz. I bet all the people importing JDM cars like me don't know how good these would look for a show car. 👍🏼🤙🏽

I would love something like this, but it would cover 5 important buttons in my truck. Traction control, hazards, auto stop/start and outside video camera control to name the most important. Sucks.
You guys need to go back to the design from the 90’s like you are doing with the #1 Status. Alpine was from another planet back then. The image is not lost, but you really need to do something. Besides this - I own a 96 Rolls Royce Silver Spur and I would love to use Alpine for my high end sound system. Look at what Blaupunkt is doing with their retro head units, they have huge success.
Just want to warn brfore you buy. I have a samsung s9+ and it does not work well with this units wireless android auto. The sound drops and lags behind commands making Android auto totally unusable.
