You need big Diesel tanks... ;)
We used a small diesel generator, when we were rebuilding some cabinets and building a transformer. 2 MW generator is really big...

Yes, get a closed transition transfer switch. Its a make-before-break transfer so you can switch loads without a bump.

Nice, that's what I used to do when I worked for Detroit Diesel Allison in Australia. Can't believe Basler Electric are still making Check Sync protection relays, those things were dinosaurs in the 80's. You've got some nice kit there, but I still prefer the EMD in the workshop over the 4000 series. :-)

Never found out why. It was a brand new alternator too.

All of the new gen sets being used for anything other than stand by power have to be IT4 or tier 4 emissions regulated. They inject urea into the exhaust to burn up any particulates that didn't incinerate during combustion. This is an after treatment and doesn't affect horsepower the way recirculating the exhaust emissions would. The IT4's have absolutely no black smoke when they take load, all you can see is the shadow from the heat of the exhaust.

0.08 Gallons per kw. It can burn biodiesel but the output goes down.

How much gallons of diesel per hour do these burn, how many homes can it power and can it run on biodiesel?

If this was on full load under 1 hour the power generated in that timespan would be enough to power my entire house for little over a year..

What are the systems eliminating CO, HC, NOx, PM from the fumes ? Is that simple filter or sth more complicated?
