If you put arrow wraps on your arrow first and glue the fletchings to the arrow wrap when it is time to renew the fletchings you don't have glue on the arrow shaft to scrap off

Doesn't that mean you still have to clean the glue off the wrap or replace your wrapping when you are re-fletching?

@@thebarebowbrummie take fletchings off and peel off the wrap. Easy to make your own wraps using oracle 651 sheet. Clean shaft with rubbing alcohol, let dry and put new wrap on and then refletch.

How do you know / work out, how far back or forth from the nock to place the fletching on the shaft?

That's an interesting question. ideally, you position your fletching as near to the nock as you can bearing in mind you need to place your fingers between the fletching and the nock. But there is a little bit of trial and error involved, so it's not a precise science. I tend to measure the distance based on similar arrows with the same size fletching and then adjust them to improve stability until I find the right position.
I hope this helps. Enjoy the archery journey.

I got so fed up with fletching, I decided to just shoot without fletch.
My rationale: I’m at a stage where I’m far from a beginner and far from being “good”. I’m “competent”. Fletch is a waste on my at my skill level.

Hi Peter. I think you need to reconsider. Your fletching creates stability in your arrow flight. Without them you may have very little consistency, and the slightest fault in your release or the tune of your bow could mean a bad miss.

Got to be a reason why people don't shoot without vanes or feathers. It's worked for several thousand years.

I'm really annoyed with your videos mate.
I'm new to archery and have just spent the afternoon binge watching them and am now in trouble with the mrs. It's all your fault😂
    Cheers from Australia.

@@coobye I feel your pain. Imagine what my wife is like when I spend hours in the workshop filming. Still, it's worth it. Welcome to the archery world. Enjoy the archery journey.

At 63 I've probably should have started years ago but it's never too late to start a new hobby👍.
I'm still to shoot my first arrow and your videos are helping immensely. I'm trying to learn the right technique etc before I start with any bad habits. I'm worn out already😂.
