When they say Black Americans have no culture.. TUH baby we are the culture. The hair, nails, fits, music and swag is UNMATCHED. we pushed forward the culture and always come with the looks. I mean people are using our songs to sample from over 20 plus years ago. There’s so much beauty in our culture
THAT PART! They love running their mouths while actively sampling our artists and copying off of the trends we started and refuse to give us credit too
clock that tea! like that girl Cynthia mocking BA's while also playing a historical figure in a movie. OUR historical figure. If you don't like us so much go watch your own shows, listen to your own music, and play your own characters in your original accent and not a put on American one. I think they ha te the fact that we pushed through and persevered despite the odds, they love to claim we aren't American, we were born in this country, so were our grandparents and great grandparents, they won't say that to Whi te Americans but love to be xen oph obic toward us. I love being a black American and we BEEN the culture period.
@@petitelune5284 You came in here hot with things that don’t apply to most black Americans, now I can’t speak for all but I know for a fact braids indeed came and started within Africa, as well as some of the gold jewelry. Getting inspired and claiming that we have no culture is hilarious. WE ARE THE CULTURE, BEEN THE CULTURE and always will be. People look to us for trends, our music has been #1. i'm not black, i'm from latin-america (argentina). but i grew up listening to most of these groups and r&b music in general. wanna go back when mtv used to play these mv's nonstop. i just love & appreciate your culture sm ❤
Ugh I love black women so muchhhh! we've created so many trends and always ahead of the game with style, vocals, beauty etc. I want black women to understand that they've always been beautiful and how God blessed us, you don't need to look like anyone else. people like to take our things and then water it down, but we have always been innovators and like you said while they play catch up we're already onto the next thing creating and being creators. absolutely loved this video and how you always celebrate our icons, legends and culture. You always celebrate women and it's just refreshing
The girl groups back then were so iconic man. and the true definition of iconic too. the fashion was top tier!!! I still love all of the looks from the 90s even the tacky ones lol Tina doesn't get enough credit for her hand in the fashion trends from her dressing DC talent was so authentic and no shade to artists like Amerie, Christina Milian, Ashanti, Rihanna etc. because I love their music but once they came on the scene real raw vocals didn't matter anymore, and then there was JLO chile. you just had to have the "look" if you look at how the music industry changed once that type of singing came in you can see how music changed. performances became lackluster and just wanted to "sing pretty" or soft which is nothing wrong with, but it became oversaturated and drowned out real talent because labels only cared about popularity. The Tik Tok ban is going to show who has real talent and can last in the industry versus cute little dance trends and singing about s3 x 24/7
This is facts. that low singing caused a decline in real singing. Chloe, Coco, and Halle seem to be the very small minority that incredible vocals and sound the same live and even better with clarity. We need a resurgence of REAL singers with stage presence instead of constantly trying to eye f--- the cameras and always singing about bedroom activities. I love those songs too, but no one wants to only hear that and then the majority of your album is about that or bragging, like we need variety
I just got back home, and I know this is going to be a great video. SWV, TLC, and Destiny’s child are the groups that defined 90s fashion. Very influential in my opinion.
Loved this video through and through. We really be having that ish ON. beauty, talent, style and magnetism. and what you said is a FACT about the girls all of sudden wanting to be in "streetwear" when they were always talking about how it was ghetto and then them wearing long nails all of sudden but wait🤔 I thought that was "ghetto".... it just proves they're envious and, on the sidelines, wishing they were as innovative and creative as us.

You always eat with the visuals!!!! Which makes sense since you love Bey down and we know she always comes with the visuals lol… anyways Glad you spoke about the forced “talent” out now and use of bots. Half of the artists today wouldn’t be where they are if they debuted in the 80s/90s. There wasn’t any purchasing of fake fans online, Stan wars, inflated numbers and people had no issue booing you and LOUD too when you hit the stage lmao they didn’t care if you had on a cute outfit and were pretty. If you had mediocre vocals and couldn’t move the audience you could come out with a few cute little videos but eventually you would fade to the back because real talent was what won people over. And honestly the whisper/baby voice singing takeover is the reason for the decline of talent. A lot of them can’t sing live and use synthesizers in the studio to make them sound better. We need a Renaissance for authentic talent to come back lol
I love their music but they’re not the blueprint, the blueprint means people are copying them and they set the standards and they didn’t, they’re new to the industry and their looks/stye have been done way before they came on the scene. I will say they have that it factor that the girls of the 90s had
@@AngeBiampandou I agree somewhat, I think they need to carve out their own image and sound and not rely so much on the 90s/2000s sound and style but they have a lot of potential
I was talking to my mom about how there are hardly any black girl groups and boy bands in the modern age as there are mostly rap groups. Girl groups and boy bands of the 20th century will always be fire from the music.
En Vogue is literally mentioned and shown MULTIPLE times in this video. Did you even watch it? They’re even in the thumbnail like I’m genuinely confused how that flew past your head, ears and eyes. They’re not known for fashion trends for the most part.
