    Im trying to decide if I should buy the big Triton router, or if i should spend twice the amount and get something really nice like this one.
    They say buy the best you can afford, but that's tricky when buying a new router means less money to spend on other tools and projects.

    • @GTWoodshop

      Hi Mikey, its really the lift that demands the money being spent, the router itself I feel is less improtant, even disposable. I ran an Hitachi with a woodpecker l;ift for years it it was superb. Just remember regardless of others beliefs or advice, you gotta live with it. 👍👍

    oh how i wish i have this in my workshop.
    I currently have bosch router table fitted with 1/2 " hitachi router M12SC. Table is not perfectly accurate and router is very noisy. Wish i could replace these with Incra AUK or Jessem AUK soon enough.

    Hi Graham. I just ordered my Incra lift and it will be here in about a week. It will be paired to a 3-1/2 hp Milwaukee router. My accountant (and bride) of nearly 42 years gave me the go ahead since my birthday is near. Your video helped me decide on which lift to buy. Thanks for your review. Did you know that Incra now has a metric version of that lift?

    Amazing set up! I really wish my inserts had the cut outs for dust collection. I also find it so interesting to hear phrases from petite in different demographics... I say snug as a bug in a rug all the time. Now I am wondering if I picked that up from my relatives who came from England or if that is just a phrase everyone uses all over the world 🤔 great video!

    Nice video, sir! Subscribed and liked, thanks! Question???? . . . I'm just now setting up the same Incra Router Lift (JessEm made) on a new Incra router table and noticed you used the small set screws or, "grub" screws as you called them, for leveling the router plate instead of using the pre-installed plate leveler screws that are built into the router table plate opening which the instructions suggest to do if installing the lift on an Incra router table. When I tried leveling the plate per those instructions instead of using the packaged set screws as you did, I did find using the pre-installed levelers a bit clunky. Did you use the small set screws/grub screws inadvertently or was that by choice and, as these grub screws seem to be a better, more stable option vs. the built-in levelers, have you any issues with the grub/set screws?

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Richard, by choice, I found the grub screws much easier to use. 👍

    Hi Graham
    Have had mine about a year now - no problems with one exception. I have the Incra Cleansweep under the router table and my one criticism with the AUK is the dust extraction can be quite poor out of the cleansweep, particularly if you are using a short bit. The router has to be set quite high and the space available below the rings gets quite small, hence poor extraction. I have to open up the cleansweep door and get in there with the dust extractor hose. It seems the "sweep" in the cleansweep doesn't. My previous basic incra plate (without the lift mechanism) had much better extraction. I will be keen to hear how you get on with it.

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Craig, that's good to know thanks. I'll keep my eye on it. 👍

    • @calumbettison742
      @calumbettison742 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Craig, I'm also tempted to buy the clean sweep setup. Just wondering - are you using the clean sweep magnetic insert rings with the holes in? As far as I'm aware these are necessary to maintain the volume of airflow necessary for proper extraction.

    • @craigturner2756
      @craigturner2756 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @@calumbettison742. Yes - the holes in the insert plates improve the extraction. My problem now is not the cleansweep system, it's the router itself. I used to have the Triton 3-1/4hp router using the basic Incra plate and the cleansweep inserts. When I changed my router to the AUK I also changed to the router lift plate version. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cleansweep system, but be aware that the type of router you use *may* reduce its effectiveness, as I have unfortunately found.

      Not ideal, but just a thought - would a collet extension help in this situation? Of course this would be at the expense of cutter precision.@@craigturner2756
