The biggest problem isn't that she's "overdancing." It's more about her not syncing with the group, which makes it look messy and bad. Synchronisation is extremely important in dancing. She has a bad habit of not dancing like the rest. It's not her being more talented. It's her basically adding more energy into moves that don't need it.Any amateur dancer knows this.
As a dancer myself, overdancing is real and it is an issue. In this case, there are six people in 'perfect' sync with good facials, and then she sticks out like a sore thumb which ruins the balance of the performance. It's important to blend into the group when you're dancing, standing out too much isn't good. While yes, she's serving and still doing well, she shouldn't be looking that different from the other members. It's just part of being a good dancer who dances with a group.
Her main issue is her moves are too harsh and sharp which makes her look like she is mad while doing the dance. There is idols who dance sharp but some songs including like that she don't need to do that

when you’re in a group, it’s important to have your movements in sync with others to make the synergy flow smooth. ahyeon does overdance. it’s nice watching her fancams, but when it comes to whole group performances - she seems to outshine the other members pretty clearly. she’s a talented girl, but signing up to be in a group means you gotta calm it a bit. I don’t think she is over dancing but her dance style is kind of messy. She reminds me of Rose. I don’t like the way either of them dance. Their dance style causes them to be messy and sometimes makes the choreography look weird (weirder than a YG choreography already is). I think (personally) Jihyo has a good balance. Her moves are sharp like Ahyeon but yet (maybe it’s because Twice is 9 and not 7) she blends in and balances Twice out.

I think Ahyeon has good stage presence, but it really looks like she is doing too much, I think it's because she is a rookie and wants to show all her skills maybe in the past of the time she discover her comfort zone and start to look comfort on the stage. I love Ayheon's dancing!!! Specially in Like That. Besides, this is YG. They dont follow the "by the book synchronicity" in dancing. About Ahyeon - it's not about pushing her as an all rounder, her performances are really hyping and it's no coincidence that this is used by the producers. Sheesh has done a great job rapping and it shows in the live performances. In Forever, the idea is exactly to be melodic rapping so that there is not too much rapping for such a style of song, it is on purpose, not a problem with Ahyeon's rapping technique. And of course people love performers from both worlds, it's no coincidence that Asa is very popular.
2: YG needs to keep Ahyeon away from rapping because let’s be honest, she isn’t that suitable to be in the rap line. She more suitable for the vocal line. She is more skilled in vocals than rapping. YG needs to stop forcing her in to the rap line atp.

Im a trained dancer and i think ahyeon is overdancing. Let me explain, the song and choreo are chill but ahyeon puts too much energy into it which makes her dancing look messy and messes up the harmony of the choreo Everyone has their own style in dancing but dancing is still teamwork because every dancer has to be in position and in sync so ahyeon dancing with too much force makes the performance look not polished
imo its the fine line between energetic dancing and overdoing every move. Ahyeon slightly leans to the latter. So it creates the illusion of "overdancing". I remember Hyunjin SKZ - his dance is out of this world, but he knows when to make the moves powerful and when not to exaggerate the moves. Maybe she'll learn with experience. I really enjoyed Ahyeon's rapping in Forever. While I liked it in Sheesh as well, her rap part in Forever seemed to have a nice flow to it, less "screaming" due to being faster and it was also separate from Ruka and Asa's part, so people who prefer them as a duo can get that from the song as well. It was nice to get more of Ahyeon's vocals in Forever as well, though.

If the situation was really that bad the first thing that would happen wouldn't be a shortage of trainees but a lowering of standards in vocal talent, dance talent and more importantly visuals. We'd have plus sized idols, SEA idols, Indian idols and African idols. Also if the situation was really that dire they'd loosen the restrictions and raise pay and better treatment just like any other job that had not enough applicants. She may be physically tiny, but I think Soyeon is the gutsiest woman in Kpop because she knows what she's talking about and doesn't give a shit whether you think she's being too tough or not. That's Lisa and Soyeon. They're not preparing you for a song, they're preparing you for battle, and the ones that listen to them are the ones that survive.
1. It’s seems like 5th gen girl groups or girl idols are facing this unreasonable hate. It’s so gross, sometimes I can’t enjoy the music because someone is being hateful. This includes Ahyeon and many others. 2. I thought I was the only one who wasn’t impressed by Ahyeon’s rapping. The blame is not only on YG, but the fans. They’re hyping it up, when Asa is far better, and Ruka has a nicer tone. I think as a vocalist she shines more. But if that’s what she wants to do, then she probably improve. 3. I’m glad the Trainee system is collapsing, the Kpop bubble is bursting. These past few years, the idol life has been romanticize, the reality is that out of the hundreds of trainees right now, only a select will debut and only a few will be successful. The industry is competitive and saturated (high risk, high rewards.) Plus, it’s clear that not all trainees are getting the same attention. Going forward, it seems like the truly dedicated will purse such a career. I hope this situation forces company’s to change. 4. I’m new to StayC but they’re on dark concept. Last year was their cute concept, so it’s understandable that you were disappointed when you were expecting the previous sound. When it comes to the “Cheeky Icy Thang”, it took a few listens, but it’s growing on me. But I can understand people’s general disappointment. The other songs on the album are good, so I do think it’s worth a listen for those who care. 5. I’ve got to be honest some survival show judges are just not good at their job. I’ve watch a couple and man the favoritism is so rough. Like yes it could be production, but generally those “judges” are either rude for no reason or sugarcoat. Both methods I feel are ineffective. Soyeon I think was breath of fresh air because she was both honest, but gave good advice, for some reason some judge can’t do that.

i find ahyeon VERY refreshing!! an idol actually performing and not just the deer in headlights look that most idols give off. i think ahyeon is the next "IT" girl, like i hate how everyone throws that word around but i genuinely think this one is accurate! also ahyeon's rapping is fine! rapping isn't hard (let's be fr here) if all members rap or no members do, it's not a big deal!
the problem with ahyeon is that she does not sync well with the other 6 members. I remember aespa being hated because they out of place, same is the case here. I would not say she is anymore talented than the others [sorry to say but she is not the ace of group, does not mean she has to]. As a group you need to sync together because that's why you are called a "group". Ans lastly her moves are not energetic and sharp they are harsh. The biggest problem isn't that she's "overdancing." It's more about her not syncing with the group, which makes it look messy and bad. Synchronisation is extremely important in dancing. She has a bad habit of not dancing like the rest. It's not her being more talented. It's her basically adding more energy into moves that don't need it.Any amateur dancer knows this.

As a dancer myself, overdancing is real and it is an issue. In this case, there are six people in 'perfect' sync with good facials, and then she sticks out like a sore thumb which ruins the balance of the performance. It's important to blend into the group when you're dancing, standing out too much isn't good. While yes, she's serving and still doing well, she shouldn't be looking that different from the other members. It's just part of being a good dancer who dances with a group.
Her main issue is her moves are too harsh and sharp which makes her look like she is mad while doing the dance. There is idols who dance sharp but some songs including like that she don't need to do that

YG is trying to push the all rounder title onto Ahyeon. She has great visuals, dance, and vocals. Rap is the only thing left. So YG just gives her rap parts so they can go “LOOK! She’s an all rounder. She can do it all.”
Issue is that her rap doesn’t flow as good as Ruka’s or Asa’s, so it comes off as her just rapping for rapping’s sake rather than adding to the song.

when you’re in a group, it’s important to have your movements in sync with others to make the synergy flow smooth. ahyeon does overdance. it’s nice watching her fancams, but when it comes to whole group performances - she seems to outshine the other members pretty clearly. she’s a talented girl, but signing up to be in a group means you gotta calm it a bit. BM stans need to stop taking everything as hate; it’s very annoying.

Exactly it's one of those songs that make you happy. And in my opinion it's perfect just like it is. I rarely see music that brings out such happiness in people. You can't help but smile while watching the video or listening to the song, and i think that's what he intended as well with him going to be in the military, he wanted to bring joy to the world. The song is like a warm hug and I loved it. I listen to it when I feel down. It also reminded me of wizard of the oz/sgt. Peppers lonely hearts club band by Beatles.

I don’t think she is over dancing but her dance style is kind of messy. She reminds me of Rose. I don’t like the way either of them dance. I think Ahyeon has good stage presence, but it really looks like she is doing too much, I think it's because she is a rookie and wants to show all her skills maybe in the past of the time she discover her comfort zone and start to look comfort on the stage. But right now, all that overdancing is doing nothing to her, when I saw their videos I can't barely look at her because the dance looks too messy and the facial expresions looks like she rehearseled on the mirror before the performance, it's too much.
I love Ayheon's dancing!!! Specially in Like That. Besides, this is YG. They dont follow the "by the book synchronicity" in dancing. About Ahyeon - it's not about pushing her as an all rounder, her performances are really hyping and it's no coincidence that this is used by the producers. Sheesh has done a great job rapping and it shows in the live performances. In Forever, the idea is exactly to be melodic rapping so that there is not too much rapping for such a style of song, it is on purpose, not a problem with Ahyeon's rapping technique. And of course people love performers from both worlds, it's no coincidence that Asa is very popular.
2: YG needs to keep Ahyeon away from rapping because let’s be honest, she isn’t that suitable to be in the rap line. She more suitable for the vocal line. She is more skilled in vocals than rapping. YG needs to stop forcing her in to the rap line atp.

I don't have much idea about dance so if many professional dancers are talking here about over dancing I can believe it but still Ahyeon has the most stage presence let's be real. She was the first one I noticed in Babymonster and she did become my bias. Im a trained dancer and i think ahyeon is overdancing.
Let me explain, the song and choreo are chill but ahyeon puts too much energy into it which makes her dancing look messy and messes up the harmony of the choreo
Everyone has their own style in dancing but dancing is still teamwork because every dancer has to be in position and in sync so ahyeon dancing with too much force makes the performance look not polished
Even lee jung which she's a professional dancer dances so hard and if ahyeon dance normally people will not shut up
imo its the fine line between energetic dancing and overdoing every move. Ahyeon slightly leans to the latter. So it creates the illusion of "overdancing". I remember Hyunjin SKZ - his dance is out of this world, but he knows when to make the moves powerful and when not to exaggerate the moves. Maybe she'll learn with experience. Plus its not a bad thing at all, unless she's doing it to stand out from the group and seeking all the attention.

It's getting worse, but I really hope the trainee system either fixes itself (which may unfortunately not happen) or kids these days continue to realize the consequences, especially living in a world with the internet at their fingertips. And to consider my age is the limit and I BARELY became legal? So much exploitation and manipulation is already present, and I can't describe the pity I have to see the amount of kids near my age who dream of nothing but the glorified idol life.

I really enjoyed Ahyeon's rapping in Forever. While I liked it in Sheesh as well, her rap part in Forever seemed to have a nice flow to it, less "screaming" due to being faster and it was also separate from Ruka and Asa's part, so people who prefer them as a duo can get that from the song as well. It was nice to get more of Ahyeon's vocals in Forever as well, though.
Yeah their rap verse in Sheesh is a meh didn't truly showcase her rapping skills which in this song showcased a little bit of what she's capable of and of course hater gonna hate her nothing surprising about it but musta wu showcased Ahyeon rapping skills in here which suits the song very well. If the situation was really that bad the first thing that would happen wouldn't be a shortage of trainees but a lowering of standards in vocal talent, dance talent and more importantly visuals. We'd have plus sized idols, SEA idols, Indian idols and African idols. Also if the situation was really that dire they'd loosen the restrictions and raise pay and better treatment just like any other job that had not enough applicants. If you trace the source of the story its one YTN article and news report. I'm not saying they're necessarily wrong but one news report does not mean its 100% the case. I remember how people before Twice debuted in Japan that Kpop was over in Japan and then BTS, Twice and other groups had monster Japanese debuts. So I'm not saying fewer trainees isn't a permanent trend but I'm just saying one news source saying that which was picked up by Nate Pann users which is how it got picked up by the standard Kpop news sites (Pannchoa, Allkpop) doesn't mean its the word of God or something. I've also noticed K-media loves spinning the most negative angle on everything related to Kpop in between the worship of groups like BTS and Blackpink.

Like Mentor Lisa, Soyeon is a survivor of some hellish times and she isn't going to sugarcoat anything because she knows what's ahead for them and wants to make sure they're aware of it and prepared to face those challenges. She may be physically tiny, but I think Soyeon is the gutsiest woman in Kpop because she knows what she's talking about and doesn't give a shit whether you think she's being too tough or not. There's a great line in the Roman epic, "I, Claudius" where Augustus asks how the troop are taking his training, and he's told the soldiers say his drills are bloody battles so their battles are bloody drills. That's Lisa and Soyeon. They're not preparing you for a song, they're preparing you for battle, and the ones that listen to them are the ones that survive.

1. It’s seems like 5th gen girl groups or girl idols are facing this unreasonable hate. It’s so gross, sometimes I can’t enjoy the music because someone is being hateful. This includes Ahyeon and many others.
2. I thought I was the only one who wasn’t impressed by Ahyeon’s rapping. The blame is not only on YG, but the fans. They’re hyping it up, when Asa is far better, and Ruka has a nicer tone. I think as a vocalist she shines more. But if that’s what she wants to do, then she probably improve.
3. I’m glad the Trainee system is collapsing, the Kpop bubble is bursting. These past few years, the idol life has been romanticize, the reality is that out of the hundreds of trainees right now, only a select will debut and only a few will be successful. The industry is competitive and saturated (high risk, high rewards.) Plus, it’s clear that not all trainees are getting the same attention. Going forward, it seems like the truly dedicated will purse such a career. I hope this situation forces company’s to change.
4. I’m new to StayC but they’re on dark concept. Last year was their cute concept, so it’s understandable that you were disappointed when you were expecting the previous sound. When it comes to the “Cheeky Icy Thang”, it took a few listens, but it’s growing on me. But I can understand people’s general disappointment. The other songs on the album are good, so I do think it’s worth a listen for those who care.
5. I’ve got to be honest some survival show judges are just not good at their job. I’ve watch a couple and man the favoritism is so rough. Like yes it could be production, but generally those “judges” are either rude for no reason or sugarcoat. Both methods I feel are ineffective. Soyeon I think was breath of fresh air because she was both honest, but gave good advice, for some reason some judge can’t do that.

the problem with ahyeon is that she does not sync well with the other 6 members. I remember aespa being hated because they out of place, same is the case here. I would not say she is anymore talented than the others [sorry to say but she is not the ace of group, does not mean she has to]. As a group you need to sync together because that's why you are called a "group". Ans lastly her moves are not energetic and sharp they are harsh.
