Timex should do what seiko did and start a Grand Timex line where they make more premium pieces for those who want them 😎I actually compared different gmt alternatives to this specific watch and Timex priced it so fairly compared to other microbrands with same movement/similar specs 👏 Worth it IMO
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Actual question.. with the GMT hand and/or the 120 click bezel, can I track a half hour time zone? For example, India standard time is off of GMT by 5:30. Does 120 clicks give me that ability? I've never owned a GMT, so I just don't know we're having played with it yet. Thanks
I like this a lot. Great design, solid price for using titanium, great markers & lume, and the Miyota GMT movement over yet another Seiko movement. Really good release IMO. I can see the Sinn ques people mentiob- but it looks way more like the Maen Hudson GMT to me.
Just got this watch as a gift and I absolutely love it. Don’t know how to set the GMT hand or how to wind it (don’t want to overwind it). Can anyone help?
I'm a fan of the Miyota 9075 for making flyer GMTs more accessible, and TImex has done well here _apart from the bezel that won't turn clockwise_ (which is the direction you will want to turn it). About regulation, if you do get a watch that's running at +20 spd or something dumb, take the opportunity to get to know a local watchmaker. It shouldn't cost much to give the regulation a few tweaks to bring the rate into a reasonable range. When I got an SW200-1 that was losing about 15 seconds per day, I literally gave a fine adjustment screw a minor tweak and I was done (runs +2-+6 since). On a new movement there shouldn't be anything actually wrong, so regulation shouldn't spiral into a bigger job.
Love the price. Love the specs. Love Timex. Don’t love the styling and size of the watch near as much. The case is too round and chunky. I still think that there are many great things about this watch, and it is definitely a solid offering for Timex.
The last few years really burned me out on watches... what used to be a fun hobby combining design, engineering, and history nerdiness around weird little mechanical objects turned into a blitz of dizzying, deafening self-important social media lifestyle hype. Every now and then, though, a thoughtful, subtle surprise sneaks through and reminds me that there is still enjoyment to be had. This watch is a great example, as are your videos. Thanks!
Just got mine, waiting on delivery. The 24h rehaut for 3 time zones is great, as is in design overall, big fan of neon in the right places. And I must have a light watch, steel on bracelet is too heavy I find, even with a 18cm wrist. Guess the closely spaced holes make the strap fit better? It's a great watch, and the timex and James logos work, a clean look with the busier bezel etc. looking forward to it. Cannot get the knife with the neon pip over in the EU though😐
Great review. What’s the size of your wrist in the clip? Just trying to get a perspective of size. Also, you said it’s 13mm thickness. The Timex spec says 11.5? Also, lug to lug? Thank you
One of the most interesting and entertaining video. Even if someone who is not completely into watches will also appreciate the witty dialogue delivery in this video. Very nice my friend.. very nice 😄
If it's 120 click unidirectional, I think I would have preferred a timing bezel since it has the inner 24 hour chapter ring. Like the recent offerings from Longines and Seiko. Having said that, many people (including myself) have used the GMT bezel for timing, and the design of this one having all the numbers and 120 clicks plus unidirectional may mean you get the best of all worlds here as you also maintain the ability to track 3 time zones.
@@henrylee8510 It was a joke. The bracelet doesn't taper at all. Because it doesn't taper, it looks very bulky. Had they simply tapered the bracelet, even a little, it would have looked much better. Otherwise, it could have been a fine looking watch.
Great review! Ordered one. Should be in tomorrow. Really interested to see how “light” the watch and bracelet are. Exciting design. Given the present Ti price points, looks like a bargain.
Very nice. I travel internationally often and could use a GMT. Been waiting on my RAD for a long time with no horizon. This could be a good one for me.
Really have to applaud the clarity of this design. I'll just come out and say, perhasps too many numbers at close quarters for me, but I find it quite likeable. I don't see Unimatic that clearly, but the very comfortable draping bracelet definitely underlined that Sinn vibe. This is less overtly toolish and more inviting and rounded feeling, which is closer to some of the more modern graphic Sinn designs and various micros. I thought thay with the Giorgio Galli Tines was pushing it's corner of the market a bit, but this at 750 goes consdoerably further still. That is arguably not something this eatch conveys at first glance, but rather justified by the movement and the material used. With the Galli it is more obvious that you're not just wearing any watch.
Great video as ever, and I agree this watch looks fantastic. I just wish the date window was at the 6 o'clock position instead of the 3 o'clock position. The Miyota movement's accuracy is also off-putting compared to a Tissot or Seiko in the same price bracket. However, I am sure this watch will sell well
nice.. I almost bought a jack mason stratotimer. I still might but I like that I can sample the miyota 9075 with a name brand at a cheaper price. thanks for the review. 🍻
We will need to know more specifics James. What are the circumference measurements of your ankles at 200 feet above sea level? Secondly, when you say "white male", what are the specific euro hereditary origin derived percentages that we're talking here?
Veru cool, like actually really cool, kinds surprised they used sapphire, but definitely double the price it could be. When you see microbrands doing same kinda shit for 4-500 and you know timex have way better economy of scale in their favour.
I wish it had a dive bezel rather than an 24 hr bezel since it already has the 24 hr track. Few people really need to track 3 time zones and I think the dive bezel looks cleaner
In the knife world, James Brand products are almost always overpriced af (coming from someone who's enthusiastically spent $300+ on multiple knives.) I'm new to watches so I can't accurately judge the value proposition here. Im not interested in the watch, but curious if this is a compelling offering.
GMT, titanium, sapphire sandwich, w/ bracelet and rubber strap for less than $800? Makes you think why people gives seiko a pass whenever they throw us a $500 watch without a sapphire crystal and a ton of QC issues.
and who tracks 3 timezones... that bezel is unidirectional because it's a dive bezel -- they could've just kept a 24-hour chapter ring for GMT purposes and made a dive-style bezel. By doing this, this watch would have 2 distinct functionalities: tracking another timezone by chapter ring and keeping track of the time by the bezel.
@@Neyo12135 I Agree, 99% of people who buy dive watches are "desk divers." And I said nothing about diving in this watch. I have a diver GMT watch with a 24-hour chapter ring with a dive-style bezel. I use both functionalities almost daily. The GMT hand is set to a timezone (country) where my family (parents, brother)/some friends live and I time track many different things with the bezel, like when I work on something, read a book a few times a day, cook something, when I go for a walk, etc., so I do not need to use my phone. Look at Longines Hydroconcquest GMT or some modified Seiko GTMs with dive bezels.
I prefer ceramic bezel inserts, I have both types, my ceramic one is perfect, my aluminum one has a few scratches. Yes, I know, it adds character, but I am a character, don't need to add to it! 😁
Boy they really didn't bother regulating that Miyota 9075 did they? My Stratotimer has the same movement and it's been regulated to -0/+5 per day. If I was a confident watch boy, I'd try to do it myself. But I'm not.

Jeez Timex has some of the best designs on the market right now.
They're doing well but their jumps in and out of actual quality specs need to be done on their own rather than with these weird brands if you ask me.

Hoping a Stainless Steel version drops soon!

I’m impressed with both the review and the watch itself. Placed an order this morning shortly after I read the email from Timex.
You're quickly and easily becoming my favorite YT watch reviewer. Love your content style and the watches you are reviewing.
A seriously nice watch, well done Timex! Another solid review, thank you.
Beautiful watch! I'm a huge fan of Titanium watches. At last count I own 11. I may have to seriously consider this one.
Your buddy Sam did an awesome job with the design. This is definitely tempting.
