Great vid, im building a trailer close to this one, but I'm curious about the weight and pulling it with my jeep. It will be pretty minimalistic, a single cot, my small wood stove and a small counter is the idea. Well insulated, which is why I want to use 2x4s. Any updates on how it handles? Update '24: used 2x2s, diesel heater instead of wood stove. Marine windows instead of rv. Live edge counter top, running water, and outdoor shower. Auxiliary 110 power supply, main power is 12 volt. So much for simple lol but it's perfect! Survived the rockies💪
Nice idea for a camper! I wish I had your skills and tools. Have you considered using that pink color 1" Foamular Insulation from Home Depot underneath your subfloor and side walls It's totally water proof and supports a lot of weight 4 X 8 sheets cost $30. It's light as a feather.
30 bucks a sheet now? Holy thats alot now. I remember when it used used to be 10 bucks a sheet or you could buy them smaller too. 16 inches like when u build a house. Crazy prices now. Maybe they are cheaper other places.
That tarp won't last long. But it's better than nothing. I would have wrapped it in a couple of those tarps. Or better yet, paint wood and tarp on both sides of the floor.
I know someone who used black tarps on walks n wood built in a bush from scratch n it lasted a long time. Rubber tarp type for roof. You'd be surprised how long they last 😮
Just thought of this idea. What if you built the cabin part of the overland trailer then rented a uhaul and strapped it to that. Drive cross country with a trailer that is insured and maintained. Just a idea haha had to share
You are doing exactly what I kind of was thinking, I want to build a removeable camper for my 5 and a 1/2 foot by 10' trailer that I used from my sxs, I would like to be able to take it off the trailer easily enough when I need to use the trailer, and then just have some kind of ratchet strap on each corner to secure it to use as a camper
You will be rebuilding your floor in a few years, there's no way that insulation will stay dry, when you are going down the road in the rain, Forget about it! Lol . Sorry but that's my opinion.

Awesome video can't wait for more
How did you secure the floor to the trailer?

Doesn't start until 3 minutes into it!!
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you, I get board quick.
😂 thanks
Hey Brotha! Good vid, good content, and good beer! Yeeee! One word of advise, if I may, … Your “INTRO” is wayyyyy too long. Otherwise … 👍🏼😎
What is the size of your trailer and sq. footage of the area?
Tarp was a mistake. Paint bottom with bed liner to last longer.
Wonder the end weight of this build
Tarp will not hold up. Everyone I have ever had will come apart in a few years.
Clicked off the video at 1:33. Wasted time period get to it next time.
Lmao but u took the time to comment?
How much did this cost you just material?
Could the camara be farther away?

That would be certainly one way to do it lol !

Did you use 2/ 3 or 2/4 studs

2:15 is way to long for an intro…. Almost clicked off.
how high are the studs for the walls
Yeah, worst thing to use in the floor. Foam board would have been better. Especially with a open bottom. I would rip it out and start over.
Sorry but there's a lot of missing information on this how to build part 1
I often wondered what became of Huckwizard.
Wtf..start the video
Stop saying idear it sounds stupid. Nice trailer though.
