- I've seen different build figures quoted for this rare car, but my source says just 15 of these were built, and just 4 on Japan's roads as at December 2021. The F31 Nissan Leopard served as the base of the car upon which Zagato hand built an aluminium body. The Gavia followed on from the uniquely-styled Stelvio of which only 120 were built of a far bigger production run. Engine in both of these vehicles was the Autech-tuned VG30DET.

I would love to drive something from the 1910s or early 1920s just to see what the experience was like. With the timing levers and each car having their own methods for accelerating and decelerating, I think it would be neat if not panic inducing..

One of 15... repainted it to a color combo he likes better and is taking it out on a rainy day to let some guy drive it. That's all I need to know about the owner to know he is an absolute legend.

"Scuderia" essentially means 'Stable' in Italian, basically that implies a racing team/their builds. Zagato is one of the big coachbuilding/design houses rather than having an associated racing team any time recently though.
(Also that thing's pretty cool. Really what I imagined 'Cars of the Future That I don't particularly Want' would look like, but it has that look of what we might have expected would be baseline 'future' in the Eighties and early Nineties. :) )

One of my dads old clients was the owner of a 1 in 7 Ford Shogun, a mid engined version of the Ford Festiva with the 225 horsepower V6 engine from the Ford Taurus SHO. He owned an air-conditioner instillation and repair company out of all things but passed away years ago and I do not know where it is, but it's my mission to find it, and if I'm lucky, buy it. They were made to order by tuner Chuck Beck with 06-60 time of 4.3 seconds and only weighting 1911 pounds. When my dad rode in it he was holding on for his life.

Seems to be a mixup of flairs from; Alfa Romeo SZ, Alfa Romeo GTV 916, Nissan 180sx and a bit of the Z31 Nissan 300zx.

Autech Zagato Gavia looks like a "base spec" of Autech Zagato Stelvio but it actually looks cool
Yeah, the Gavia is way more restrained compared with the Stelvio. Still kinda jarring though

I see bits of Alfa 916 GTV and Maserati Shamal in the design - and door handles remind me of the Fiat Barchetta. Beautiful! A rare car I’d love to drive would be a toss up between the 1960s Alfa Romeo TZ2 or the far more recent TZ3 …so both Zagato offerings!

(As for special uncommon cars I might love, I think of the De Tomaso Mangusta. A hybrid in the old sense in that it was a mid-engined Italian car with American (Ford) V8 powerplant. Quad headlights, beauty, and , well, perfect apart from needing a little help with cooling. :)

Id say my dream drive is an HKS Zero R, 10 made, four (possibly) in the wild, one to the Sultan of Brunei, one to a GTR hyperfan in Japan, one was rebuilt in 2019 and ended up in Australia, possibly another in Japan.

@@wasabicars yeah, they were trying to release them as HKS manufactured cars but the Japanese government refused. It wasnt until years later that the government allowed them to be sold as heavily modified Nissan Skyline GTR, but by then HKS boss Hasegawa - san said they no longer reflected HKS as a company and didnt want to sell them.
They were 145,000 USD when new though, so quite a pretty penny.

When I saw the thumbnail (and pictures on Facebook) I thought this would have been a one off or prototype car. Looks so cool! And great to see it still on the road.
As for what unicorn I'd want to drive? Probably the one-off Lamborghini Miura Roadster. Or a bit less rare; Porsche 930 Turbo or a Ferrari 308 GTS.

I own a Subaru Impreza sportwagon V3 WRX STI V-Limited 555 #202/555. Which some say that there are only 56wagons in that numbering. But not confirmed. Currently being party restored.
I also own a Subaru Impreza Gt-turbo Stars 25 1/140 in Steel blue. GT-T is basically UK2000 / WRX GC8. But for the EU. Stars25 was celebrate 25 years of Subaru in the Netherlands.

Love seeing films of cars I knew nothing about. External door handles look very similar to the ones on a Fiat Barchetta? As to rare cars I would love to have a go in there are many but on a Japanese theme it has to be the Toyota 2000GT if I fit in one. As I’m the same height as Sir Sean Connery I have my doubts I can?

They are?? Not that they'd be on the cars I look at ;-)
Basically Mr.Ugo Zagato use to work in an airplane factory, then he created the Zagato brand that we all know. He took lot of inspiration from his old job and the first cars he designed had the chassis that looked like an airplane body, that’s to explain the airplane fan that you see. The problem is that it never existed something called Scuderia Zagato, he used to team up with other big brands to make race cars (like Ferrari). From my personal experience which is good, but not excellent I’ve NEVER seen that logo in my life, also checking pictures from other Gavias or Stelvios dashes I’ve never found that emblem. In conclusion my opinion is that it might be fake. For sure the letters font and style looks way older than 1991, it’s not coherent with the time this car was designed. Ad I said I might be wrong, informations about this subject are extremely few (even in Italian).

Yeah, exterior is Italian all over. Interior.... Sorry, I'm not up on my Leopards. Never got them in Australia, so they never ingratiated themselves
