Did well imo. If this video was done last month, the returns would have been higher, the market just recently had a pull back.

Wealthsimple Invest was my first account with them. I opened it during the summer of 2020 and wanted to use it as an emergency fund and had short term goals with it. After two years I barely had more than a 6% return when the markets were climbing to all time highs. Any little crash would easily send me down -10%. I waited as long as I could and finally withdrew my funds and closed the account at the end of 2022. I was still down $200 when I did it but I decided to just cut my losses and run. I opened my Wealthsimple Trade account not long after the Invest account and had much better returns over that time period. At this point I’d rather do it myself and know that I could get a better return rather than giving up that control and get mediocre returns. Overall I was disappointed with it but I know it can be a valuable service for people who aren’t as confident in their ability to invest on their own and it’s great for setting up automatic deposits and whatnot. I am interested to see what the returns are like over longer periods of time.

What type of portfolio mix & risk level did you choose? Btw never invest your emergency fund!!

I had the same experience with the wealth simple managed account. I chose a conservative portfolio and I was just loosing money daily so I decided to withdraw. Definitely will try what you did.

Studies show than lump sums often perform better long term but I don’t like that amount of risk so I prefer to drip into the market 😂

I got the app through your link, and they did gave me 50$, so I thank you for that🙏🏿. I don't know if you already covered this, but how do you choose an individual company to invest in? Do you go for the big ones like Microsoft? Also, do you think it's safer to invest in ETFs with high dividends🤔? Last thing, I wouldn't mind monthly updates, but if quarterly is better for you, that's cool, too👍🏿

Yes I typically choose tried and and true companies like Microsoft, Apple, BMO, etc. ETFs are generally 'safer' because your risk is more spread out. I have a video here that shares how I research: th-cam.com/video/PpbaI1vIj4E/w-d-xo.html

I recently downloaded the Wealthsimole app, after reading it is a fantastic tool for investing. Although I haven't started investing yet, I'm excited to dive into it soon. As an international student and a graduate student at YorkU, I'm eager to learn more about finances in Canada. So watching this to absorb as much knowledge as possible was great. Being in Canada for three months now, I'm determined to make the most of my time here and ensure a solid financial foundation. Wish me luck 😊

Wealth simple has a 5% collar on limit Buys so it is very difficult to buy the lowest lows. It's rare bitcoin moves up 5 % in a day. It makes for slow returns

Hey Reni can you provide a referal link for just open a Wealthsimple account. The current one that's between $5-$3000 just for opening a account with them?
