Today we have a request and it is to put the Hestia against Riker's Zheng He!
Both of these ships are made for one thing, battle. Will the USS Hestia be able to defeat the Inquiry Class?
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Kobayashimaru.
Thanks for watching!

"There's no 'Port' Left in the bottle"
⛵
@@terencesmith9404 😂😂😂
That deflector grid makes it look like a toast rack
Revised remington shaver
FYI, Left = Port : Right = Starboard : Rear = Aft : Front = Fore/Bow : Bottom = Ventral : Top = Dorsal. Then for movement in three dimensional space you have roll either port or starboard in degrees e.g. roll to port 45/90 or 180 degrees or any increment in between, Yaw to port or starboard in degrees then pitch up or down also in degrees, this allows an aircraft or starship to change direction in three dimensional space.
Another term for rear is "stern"
Easy way to remember, port and left both have the same number of letters. Port=left. Another way to remember, starbird and right both have the same number of... never mind. Port is left.
I always remeber this thanks to an old Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Coming inside, glaring at each other after a disastrous sled crash, Hobbes jabs his finger at the Dictionary and says "See? SEE? I was Right! Port is *LEFT* , Starboard is *RIGHT* ! 🤣😎
The way I always remembered is that there are more letters in the word right than left and there are more letters in the word starboard than port.
Kirk yelling "evasive starboard" while turning to the right in The Wrath of Khan is the only way I can remember.
@@kellyevans3254 that same logic also works for formation light colors
I always remember starboard because of a huge mistake in Titanic, the captain yells “hard to starboard” and they turn to port 😂
The hestia's sheilds seem like they auto-distribute the damage.
@@pyronuke4768 there is Tech scripting in KM that allows for that, if the modder enables on the ship Plugin.
It can be helpful (or annoying, if such a ship is your opponent) 😅
It's crazy how different these ships are from their remastered versions
@@handlesaredumb9 the Inquiry in Remastered was scaled against RE stock ships (for v1.2).
At present, Hexa hasn't released the Hestia RE build, though that version will be using the balancing/scaling of the KM build (as with most updates that I do, I keep the original modders design and rates as best as able)
PORT = LEFT
STARBORD = RIGHT
So, you were right))
You mean he was starboard?
@@clintmatthews3500 precisely! :)
In battles like this the smart option would have been to target the sensor arrays. Especially when the target ship has the weaponary advantage. You can't target what you cannot see.
1:36 the USS Zheng He has ablative armor, not plot armor
I struggled with this for decades!
Now i remember it by the ship always has the port side on the left.
Then the other side is the side open to the sea and stars, the starboard.
.....that and Star Trek 2 😂
Another way to remember it is, "Port is Left on the shelf while Starboard is always Right" (PLSR)
How about the Hestia vs an Excelsior II? That might be interesting.
@@ThatMetalheadMan i concur
I'm itching to see a Hestia Vs Eclipse showdown STAT 😬! Please make it happen, RBG 😁!
@@phillipwalker916 that would be interesting!
I was just thinking... you're right.
In the first battle, that was a lucky shot 😄.
But I wanted prisoners! (Pulls out my disruptor and kills my gunner). 😆
Ooooo good fight! The Prometheus definitely loses though, realistically in specs it stands zero chance, both amazing and powerful ships though
The aliens in star trek resurgence had 4 warp cores
I believe I saw some pictures of the Inquiry Class with a standard Deflector Array and not the grill style like pictured in the video, me personally , I thought it looked a lot better, As always Retro, Great video, thanks for all of the First Class Star Trek replays 👍👍
@@steveperuski5547 would love to see that version of the Inquiry.👍😃
Thanks Steve! I tried looking that inquiry class up after your comment, it looks so much better! 🖖
In my headcannon, the Zheng He is akin to the Luna class cruiser from 40k: can be built anywhere and by anyone in the Federation. It could have then been used to keep the various member worlds from leaving after the destruction of Utopia Planetia as a "here's a ship YOU can build for your own defense forces". It would also explain why there were so many, as, not only was Starfleet building it, but also Vulcan, Tellar, Bajor, Denobula, etc.
Torpedo count is the number of the battle of sector 001 LOL Ty for the video and LLAP!
Bro! You did it! Thank you! This is awesome!
So from what I understand of the Prometheus class is that it had one main warp core. That warp core sustained the ship when whole, and split into 2 warp cores for the middle and botton sections in seperated flight mode. The saucer section had a smaller horizontal warp core on deck one that remained inactive until the ship seperated, at which point would activate and supply the saucer section with extra power for combat and to the smaller extendable nacelles that were likely only designed for low warp considering their seemingly secondary nature. The main warp core, because it can be seperated into two, means it has 2 dilithium chambers, with one being the main one, 2 engineerings with one being the main one, and redundant m/am tanks, conduits, etc. This explains why, along with its combat systems, a ship a bit bigger than Voyager had a minimal crew and almost no mission specific scientific equipment. Also, the sheer amount of over engineering it would take to to make that ship plausible would explain why we never see a similar ship again.
Port and left are both 4 letter words. Thats how I remember they are the same side.
I have to agree in terms of looks for a regular Starfleet ship the Inquiry Class doesn't cut it for me. It just looks…blah. Now as you said if it were a Section 31 ship I could get behind it.
I was surprised how quickly the Hestia took out the Zheng He. I had a feeling the human way for the Inquiry side would make it win. I wouldn't doubt if for the Hestia they took ideas from the future tech Admiral Janeway brought back with her.
I agree the Hestia having three warp cores and working in unison together yup totally agree with you.
Should do a recreation of the Wolf 359 battle but use all the STO ships you have then split the rest between a Galaxy X and throw in some Intrepids too. Dear Hexagonal, continue to throw in some more STO ships from that era in
I agree with you on the inquiry class.
The Hestia kind of looks like a Prometheus refit
The Hestia is a multi-vector ship like the Prometheus Class
I don't like the Inquiry class's looks either. The ugliest thing to me is the deflector 'dish'. It looks like an old car grill.
Lol it looks like it was built by Ford
@@markmullins8622 Maybe if it had a Starfleet hood ornament...
MOST POWERFUL SHIP EVER MADE AT THE TIME HE SAID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lmfao!
@RBG Easy way to remember it, port & left are the same thing and they both have 4 letters.
the number of warp cores shouldn't really matter. power output of the vessel is based on the fusion or antimatter reactor (or whatever power generator alien ships wind up using). Although the ship can siphon back some of the spent power from the plasma, the warp core is just for warp.
I dont think the Inquiry Class as a Section 31 ship would work, imho. So far, it's safe to assume that Section 31s fleet was dismantled after the events of DSC season 2 (think of those what you will).
The Inquiry class as a Starfleet ship makes sense tho. This is a Starfleet that survived the Dominion War and militarized even more (Starfleet has always been a military!). A Starfleet, that has realized its needs for dedicated warships to help secure Federation borders. And especially: This is a Starfleet, that has lost its main production facilites and around 20.000 ships around Mars according to latest canon sources - even if most of those were transports for the Romulan Evacuation. Starfleet dialed back its exploratory mission focus, dialed back its "we are the police of the quadrants" policy and is instead focusing on trying to hold receding borders with far less personel than it requires.
The Inquiry is perfect for that. We do know that by the time of Prodigy and later PIC, that the Sovereign is kinda taking over the role of the Excelsior Class. The main line Federation cruiser. The Inquiry however is said to be a lot faster. The copy and paste fleet makes sense, because it seems to be a rapid response fleet. Why then should slower ships be part of that fleet? It would slow a RRF down a lot. It can definitely be reasoned that for a while, Starfleet stopped producing exploratory vessels to instead focus on building a fleet of defense ships. We do know that Starfleet scrapped at least one exploratory ship type that was supposed to go into full production shortly after the Synth attacks.
And of course, the question is: Did Riker even tell the truth when saying that the Inquiry is the toughest, fastest ship ever put into service? During the whole run of TNG, he was known to be bluffing a lot. We see it during his poker sessions. Is the Inquiry really that powerful or was Riker making a point to the Romulan General?
Edit: Look up the Inquiry class from seasons 2 and 3 of PIC! The grill like deflector is gone and replaced by a lot sleeker version! Looks beautiful!
What an epic 2nd fight! I was rooting for the Zheng He but the outcome didn't look certain, especially when the forward shield collapsed 🖖
The Inquiry in Bridge Commander looks very lack luster and I mean literally. The glow on the nacelles and spillway are part of the presence and the shape itself looks off. It's weird I see the dark timeline ships or the pre canon enterprise G and or the enterprise M and they are beautifully textured I feel like the inquiry has been getting shafted since day 1. So I will tell you the one thing that would make the inquiry better... it needs to move on to the final form known as Answer.
They can make c+p class good in canon by having the next villain stomp them by exploiting their very nature.
The inquiry class is ok, but another Kurtzman mess up of making a bland little ship the quote “fasted most powerful ship in the fleet” 🤦♂️
😲WOW.. This was a battle Admiral.. love both ships, the Hestia is major nice and powerful, gosh.. and don't care what others say I like the Zheng He, if this ship was in Picard 3, huh.. the Shrike would have got shredded just saying.. funny in Picard 1, had it and said most powerful ship and Even Patrick Stuart, said Picard 3 was as he put it ''Sh*t'' anywho,, still love the ships and power of them.. yes I saw that too.. I side or the other , winning or the other than even lol. Amazing battle as always Admiral..!!😊🖖
Interestingly we do see an inquiry class in spacedock behind the Enterprise G. The Inquiry class would have been amazing against the Shrike. The Shrike was pretty messed up though, like an extreme version of that Scimitar 🖖
@@RetroBadgerGaming I thought the same thing, The Shrike.. almost like a mini Scimitar, but going to replay that in Spacedock to see, so it was there, funny wasn't used hmm🖖
Nice second battle lol well won enjoyed that one 👏 great as all ways RB 👏
Thanks Ric 🖖
Depending on whether you go with STO's launch date, or something from PIC, then the Hestia is the newer ship with 10-15 years more development. If it's from STO's timeline, then it's meant to go up against iconian ships, so... yeah, the Hestia should canonically stop all over an Inquiry. Now, if it was a Hestia against an Arbiter (which has been folded in as a next gen version of the Inquiry and the '6th generation' version of it), then it ought to be a very even fight. I'm just waiting for more of the STO ships to come in. I want to see a Lexington take on the Gal-X from Hell. Now that's a proper dreadnaught beast.
Where _is_ the Zheng He/Inquiry Alpha?
For that matter, where's the one that doesn't have an air conditioner for a deflector dish? As much as that thing might make sense as combat armor for the dish to prevent a Viridian 3 and borking the shields, the I-Beta actually has a pleasing shape.
And _someone_ please get those bussard collectors the right color! _Red_ is the color of the collectors. _Orange_ makes me feel ill.
0:58 I believe the word you're looking for is "Starfleet-y". 😉
The AI doesn’t seem to know how to use the Hestia class. It seems to default to using the ventral phasers probably because it doesn’t have real torpedoes. The “torpedoes” it does have aren’t used until you move away more than 25km. Probably the same type of torpedo setup as the quantum torpedoes on Sovereign classes. Womp womp 😑
I’m sure it’d would wipe the floor with the USS Dustbuster if it had a proper setup
One big AI "hiccup" in BC is not having a "Torpedo System" on the mod. You can have a turret/disruptor point, but if you do not have a torp system, the AI gets confused and does odd things.
In the case of the Hestia, there *is* a torp system, named Computer Core. When updating the Hestia for Remastered I ran into this, as it calls for a projectile that wasn't accounted for and needed to be modified for RE compatibility 😅
So you're going to trust poker playing bluffmaster Riker that is the most powerful ship? 🤔
see how many Prometheus class ships the Hestia is equal to
i reallllllyyyyy want to know what this violet beam is or should do. thx for uploading it.
How about the NX01 VS the Vulcan ring-ship?
Hopefully not the 3 Ring Vulcan Ship...😂
@@MSR-1701 Just the regular one; Like the one in "In a Mirror Darkly"
@@Jay-xr5tm Lol, was mentioning in jest, the 3 Ring Vulcan ship is a Future Craft, and would nuke most mods of the NX.
For the single Ring Vulcan, I do recall one or two mods, though I wish I could remember the name of the one that I found that was somewhat underpowered, needs some love to get it to 22nd/23rd C Vulcan levels
@@MSR-1701 What about the T'plana-Hath?
@@Jay-xr5tm was there a mod for that one?
The mod name that comes to mind is the dkyr I think?
I like the Zhgen He, other than its deflector. If the 'star drive' section extended to a more rounded area, and had a normal deflector she would be a beautiful ship.
Picard S2 has a revised model with a more pleasing shape, which is included in the Legendary Inquiry in STO.
@@housecoatgaming In fact, Thomas specifically designed the new revision for STO and had to wait until Picard showed the new version to put it into STO.
Uss tempest
Nearly all new ships introduced in Picard & Discovery are lazily designed, lackluster and disappointing. Ent-F was good and they killed it.
Hey, very impressed with your ships, where can I find the files for these mods to add to bridge commander?
Everything is on Gamefront 🖖
R the inquiry still the most powerful after Ross class and others were rebuilt ?
Uh oh
Wat system do u use
It’s an i5 11th gen, 24GB ram, 4GB GeForce 3050ti, 2 SSD’s.
I hate the design of the Zheng He.
I have to disagree. The Hestia is formidable, but the Inquiry is a total beast and you won the 2nd match by a wide margin.
Where are my viewer requests I gave up asked you several times and didn't even reply I unsubscribed because of despite enjoying your videos for the most part
Bye bye NCC Copy & Paste
Ok @MSR1701 @Graystar @hexagonal_nexul challenge for y’all.
Let’s have the bridge crew call out Forward/Aft/Port/Starboard/Dorsal/Ventral instead of left/right/top/bottom etc. CAN IT BE DONE???
Auto-shields are OP. Having 3 warp cores may also explain how power can get diverted to automatically balance the shields. The AI lost only because it piloted the Hestia like it didn't have auto-shields.
