    E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 How important is a mid-drive motor in your considerations when shopping for an e-bike? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

      @ElectricBikeReport how quiet is the motor?

    I love mid-drive systems because they allow the motors to use the transmission of the bike. That's why quality mountain ebikes always use mid-drive systems. This bike may be my next; in addition to the mid-drive the swept back handlebars are more comfortable, and it has fenders.

    I like my Atlas, my only complaint is the cord coming from the screen to the bike, inside the post. When turning sharp the cord gets too tight and it comes unplugged. It needs to be about 1 inch longer. To correct this, I brought it out from the cord wrap/organizer. This gives it just enough length to not come unplugged. Looking at the bike sitting next to the reviewer in this video, I see that the wire on their bike is also tight. Evelo should address this.

    Does anyone know if there is enough clearance on the fenders for snow chains? Alternatively can the fenders be easily removed and reattached?

    Will they add automatic shifter if you ask for one I know it be more money but the option would be nice this bike I like would consider to buy it😊

    I am a fatalist. If something bad can happen it will. For that reason I like the hub motors. If the battery dies you can pedal, if the chain breaks you can still drive it home.

      I have ridden bikes all my life and for many thousands of miles and did have 1 chain break, but it was my own fault. The belt drive this bike has is extremely unlikely to fail.

    • @_skud

      Not really problems for a bike that has more than a kilowatt of power storage and a belt drive that lasts 4 times longer than a chain

    With a throttle for a mid-drive does it mean that it is automatically turning the crank?

    My wallet only allows for a budget friendly bike, so I got the Ride1Up LMT'D. If I had no limits on a budget, this would absolutely be the bike I would get. Mid drive with a belt and internal hub shifting, along with the comfort, this might be a perfect e-bike.

  • @arevee9429

    Bet it weighs a lot. Yes, weight matters. Even on an eBike. Especially when doing stop-and-go commuting. That hub is nice but heavy and between that and the optional rear-mounted battery, it's a lot of weight in the rear.

    • @emma70707
      @emma70707 ปีที่แล้ว

      66 lbs w/ one battery, 76 with two. Chonky for sure but I have the Evelo Aurora which is like 72 lbs with an 11 lb Kryptonite chain that I keep on top of my rack and it's actually fine. I might upgrade the brakes at some point (prefer hydraulic) but I also never need to slam them.

    • @MyLifeInTheDesert
      @MyLifeInTheDesert ปีที่แล้ว

      My current e bike is heavier. I don’t have any problems in stop and go traffic. And I commute 22 miles round trip

    • @arevee9429
      @arevee9429 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyLifeInTheDesert You may not notice the weight unless you try a lighter bike, it feels much better - more like a non-eBike. It isn't that the heavy bike is "hard", it just lacks the same feeling of effortlessness that a lighter bike has.

    This is the second e bike I would buy but it cost too much. I like it because it doesn't have those ugly fat tires. The only other e bike I would buy is the Aventon.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's got a higher price, but it's quite the premium ride.
      Which Aventon?

    All the Enviolo hubs that I know, just provide max 100Nm ratings, even the heavy duty. To pair this with a 120Nm M600 sounds not that ideal.
    The second thing is, this bike is spect with a lot of nice components, but the brakse are the cheapest hydraulic ones, you can think of. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had similar questions on the brakes, but the performance from our test was impressive enough for us.

    • @emma70707
      @emma70707 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cargo ones can take the higher torque. Not sure if this is that one but I'd call Evelo. They're usually happy to answer questions like that.

    • @gary7vn
      @gary7vn ปีที่แล้ว

      In order to make their price point companies will cheap out on 'some' components. A truly "premium" bike (this is not one) will have top quality for each and every component, but you will pay a LOT of money for that, twice with this one costs.

    • @stratostear
      @stratostear 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ElectricBikeReport It's underwhelming performance on your control climb. With a claimed 120 nm it should have posted the fastest time by a large margin. More torque equals faster climbs.

      @arevee9429 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's got a lot more wattage than the usual 250 or 350 watt motors, so it's quite possible it does make the number. And it certainly makes more than Bosche or Brose motors. But power isn't everything. I'd trust a Bosche or Brose system more than I would the Bafang.
