@@glennjthompson332 There was little chance they'd make significant changes to the body, but detachable things like capes, accessories etc. is possible.
@@PowerChordEPS bro fr Mcfarlane is inconsistent as hell with deciding when to give wired capes and when not. Sure, let's give a wired cape to the exclusive figure that only looks good if you're aiming to recreate a comic book cover because otherwise it looks like sh!t and has no other purpose, but the incredibly detailed and comic book-inspired edition that can work for a lot more poses? Yeah, give it the awfully stiff rubber cape that heavily restricts the figure.
I did a black wash on mine with details on the wounds, this is a great repaint with two great head sculpts, but needed a wired cape. Now if we can just get a Mutant Leader 7", that would be great.
I like the lamppost, I might get this set for $10 if it makes it to Ollie’s or clearance and sell the Batman figure. I gave the build a horse version of this to my daughter with the Superman, Robin, and Joker. The goofy long legs seem better here, it works OK for sitting on the horse.
That’s pretty good. McFarlane does a lot better when the actual design of the figure is exaggerated. It hides that they suck at sculpting to be honest and the paint job upgrade is decent.
The lamp post is important because its the same lamp post where Bruce's parents were murdered under, if you watch the animated movie you will see Batman's eyes go wide for a split second as he watches Superman walk towards him from under the light. Its almost a character of its own even being featured in DKR statues. Its a great figure with really nice paint apps minus the miss on the batarangs but that's easily fixed. I cant wait to see the Mutant leader! Thanks for the review.
Ah yes, Buttcrackman! Those headsculpts and paints are nice, shame indeed about the wonky eyes. I wish they would go the extra and add a touch of that light blue shading and black comic line work shading to the rest of the blue sections.
I haven't verified this myself, but Brad the DC Universe Geek said this figure was molded in black plastic, so cleaning up the battle damage would require painting over the painted parts. Again, I'm not sure about it myself, but just exercise a little caution before just rubbing the paint off!
Lamp post should have came with the armored Batman, but happy to have it. Now PLEASE can we get a Mutant Leader, since he's the reason this Batman is "battle-damaged" in the first place?
laziness and whatever left over parts they have in large amounts at the Chinese warehouse. Seriously. that's what affects how a figure is released. If it has new parts and molds then it will be a better candidate for a wired cape or, like this one, it has thigh swivel becuase he was meant to ride a horse. or a vehicle like the legs midnighter reused from that other batman and thus sportsmaster got thigh swivels because they had left over legs. It's all laziness
I bought this because it’s tribute to Frank Miller. I am not a Mcfarlane fan at ALL! But I like the color and detail of this figure. I think it’s fine. Thank you frank🙌🏾✨✨✨
I think I'll get this and acetone the "battle damage" away, this is far and away a better release than the original figure if because of the added parts. Also I noticed they got rid of the card display base which is a plus, if it means we get little dio pieces like the lamp post more often.
I got the original figure from a Game Exchange for free. The cape was ripped off and I asked the price. I brought the damage to the sellers attention and she sighed, "Just take it..." The funny thing is I was going to add a cloth cape anyway. The sad part is that set me on a path of actually buying McFarlane DC Universe figures even though they are 7 inch scale. I'm a 1/12th scale collector. At least the figures I get should scale with each other.
Sorry, this trend with the battle damage tampo irritates me beyond rational thought. It's so blatantly lazy and uninspired. Idk why I expect anything different from this company though - "We didn't sculpt battle damage, but here's this bullsh*t lamp post!" Ugh.
McFarlane kept ignoring the body Proportion of different version of Batman. He gave them the similar body build , super long leg like Male model on the fashion catwalk. Mafex is the best.
theres no comparison to the mafex version because theres nothing to be gleaned. this figures isnt even good at its own price. the mafex is really good at a much higher price.
I do like the blue and gray costume. Though not that blue. I like when it is baby blue (like the Variant of the animated version...reason why I bought it and not the original) and the blue used like in the Knightfall figure. If someone could tell me the name of that particular blue. Though I don´t know hot Batman changed so drastically his costume from the original black and gray (his first appearances) to that. And although it works...when one stops to think about it doesn´t for the character he is is and how he works at night/shadows. Still, I´d like DC to create a character that makes use of that color combination. PS I also adore the colors of Bat-Manga version. Another color combination that should be used in a character. ...can someone also tell me what colors are those?
I would prefer pintless joints on McFarlane DC figures over ML maybe it's the slightly larger scale or something, but this figure made me realize it bothers me a bit where as ML I don't really care
Missed opportunity to give a wired cape.
With double jointed elbows..🙄Not the single joint arms again..😆
It's still a good figure from frank Miller.😄👍

I burst out laughing when you mentioned George Hamilton.

the crevace line killed me
Aight Anthony, McFARLANE Toys has just revealed their Christopher Reeve Superman and the BvS wave; it would be cool if you would review all of them.
IDK. Definitely not interested in any other than Batman

Yes, the blue/grey/black works well and it's accurate to the iconic cover of the Dark Knight Returns comic.

George Hamilton as Bruce Wayne......interesting. Once seen it is impossible not to see it.
I've seen people keeping the cowl on this guy but throwing the unmasked head on their armored dkr batman and I think that looks really nice

I'll check tomorrow but there's definitely not black plastic in some of the joints. Grey all the way through
@@AnthonysCustomsso can we use alcohol to remove the battle damage or no.? If we can, what percentage or ratio of rubbing alcohol to purchase?

Yeah. But be careful. I've heard there's black underneath. Haven't tested yet

The light gray suit parts are painted black plastic, so if you try to remove the battle damage, you'll remove the light gray too.
@@OGTrilogy Probably could just paint over it then?
Just shows how different everyone’s needs in the community are cuz that lamppost was the only thing I perked up at lol

When Batman works himself out of crime to fight, all that he has left is pumping iron and working on his sick tan.
Do you still have some stuff to sale ?
U getting the new beyond figure? How about the superman batman fusion
Is it just me or is his buttcrack shaded? It looks a lot darker more than just shadow
It's just that deep. Seriously
Are you gonna review Cammy from jada toys ? i think you will be pleased with it
of course.
Bat Thong!
Unless really want it, add a wash to it?

Not keen on the blue and grey for this figure tbh.
Meh, still can't get over the strange body. My Mafex DKR still stands strong.
Looks like another batman to me 🙄 but hey i gave you a like anyway

No real bicep swivel for a 20+ dollars dc figure, completely pass on this.
Thats why he has the grimace on his face, because of his wedgie.
Did Joker design this figure's arse crack? 🤡🤡🤡🤡
The MAFEX version is way better
Yes. That's not a helpful comparison though
First!
I feel ever time you review a batman figure it looks worse and worse. 🤷 Glad am not reviewing the same figures over and over for a job
That crack is whack…
