      All of that was alluded to in the first book. After rereading it I was amazed how many sequels they made using a little info each time from one novel.

    I absolutely love when they're talking about Hammond, and how Katie goes, "He's just a smiling, grandfatherly face to make the public feel better." And then they show the most absolutely terrifying photo of him in the entire movie.

    Now I know this is going to freak some folks out, but I'm about to talk about the book here for a second. You guys made a point that I thought was spot on, two acutaly about the food and the poop. Turns out that Michale C addressed both o those issues in the book. The fact that they took out the Compy's from the first movie is where they lost the issue of how the poop is dealt with. Compy's are created as dung eaters because the larger dino droppings weren't biodegradable due to the bacteria needed to break it down was dead along with the dinos. The Compys were "supposed" to be only there to eat the poop because their waste was biodegradable. However, the Compys were the first ones to start to breed without the teams knowledge, and they were a whole lot more of an integral part of the story than they were made out to be.
    As for the food for the dinos they stated in the book that they literally had to ship in a metric fuck ton of food every two weeks to keep them fed. It was one of the first times that Hammond said spared no expense in the book also.

      They probably cut them out of the first movie because they didn't want to adapt the scene where they escape the island before Grant's beta test tour even starts, and ate a baby alive. Also, InGen thought it would be brilliant to use _cobra DNA_ to patch up their genetic code.

      There's a fan theory that the reason the Jurassic Park 3 Velociraptors look different from the first and second film is that mabye there are different TRIBES of raptors based on their behavior and image.There's the Lost World raptors that are less intelligent and more savage like the Nublar raptors and there's the JP3 raptors that are more intelligent and more social. It is speculated that the JP3 raptors are the ORIGINALS;the very first Ingen recreated when the first started cloning Dinosaurs.But the scientists thought they were too smart for there own good.So,They decided to tamper with the DNA.Then,there was probably a jinx in the sequence which led to them becoming more brutal and murderous;in other words,becoming the Nublar and Lost World Raptors.Does anybody agree with this theory? If not,then why?

    • @debonairdinosaur8435
      @debonairdinosaur8435 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      or you know, the reason they stated in the book and movies... They had to fill in gaps in the DNA with current living species causing the dinosaurs to be a bit altered from their original form. OR the fact that "raptors" is a whole family of dinosaurs, not one species.

Great reads that I'd recommend to everybody (especially the guys at Cracked, who must not've read them).

      roottruthseeker Like what? You might have a genetic predisposition to be a better rational thinker (maaaaybe), but you can't seriously believe that knowledge of palaeontology and molecular biology can be passed along in your genes?

    • @maryweaver5021
      @maryweaver5021 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not in the movie, but in the books the Dinosaurs were hatched on this island. There were issues in the DNA that wouldn't allow most of them to reach full maturidy and they would die. So on lost worl island they were hatched and set loose to see if they would survive. If they did then they were taken to Jurrassic park. When all the shit went down in the 1st book and movie the japaneese stopped funding injen and they abanded the island thinking all te Dino's there would die. But obviously they didnt.

Twins raised separately aren't just completely different in personality and politics and even mental ability but even in appearance.

    Plothole for me: In order for the dinosaurs to eat the plants, they would have to be plants from their diet. They would need to genetically clone the plants first, then grow them as invasive species on the island chain for at least 20-30 years just to have enough plant life for the herbivores to each without keeling over dead from poisoning. In fact, Ellie points this out because the plants are highly toxic to humans and modern animals. If the plants are also subject to the rapid growth alterations, the plants would be visibly growing on screen in places.

Provide the little dinos with special food and, possible. A t-rex adult would only be about 10,000 lb. That's less than two months at 200 lb per day. If you can do the science the physics must work, because blue whales do it all the time.

      Dave Robson Also look at chickens as an example. Using selective breeding they can now grow 4 times as big in half the time as a chicken from 50 years ago. If InGen was already tweaking the dino DNA then I don't think it would have been that hard for them add some genes to make them grow faster. Then it's just a matter of providing food. ChanoCYBER9Avila Exactly! The tropical island full of plants feeds the herbivores. The weak, sick, or dead herbivores feed the carnivores. Virtually no food costs. Feeding them goats and cows was probably just a show for the guests.

    • @goovaz
      @goovaz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ChanoCYBER9Avila True but InGen also cloned extinct plants. After the helicopter lands on the island and before they see their first dinosaur Ellie picks a leaf and examines it.
      ELLIE (cont'd)(still looking at the leaf)"This species of vermiform has been extinct since the cretaceous period. This thing - -"
      She brings up the extinct plants again when they sit down for lunch.
      "The question is: how much can you know about an extinct ecosystem, and,
      therefore, how could you assume you can control it? You have plants right
      here in this building, for example, that are poisonous.
      You picked them because they look pretty, but these are aggressive living
      things that have no idea what century they're living in and will defend
      themselves. Violently, if necessary."
      In the second novel it is stated that InGen had a special facility for breeding plants for the park.

    Does anyone else think that Soren and Dan could possibly be the same person, but with 2 separate personalities that are near opposites? Think about it, they both know quite a bit of pop culture ( along with Katie and Michael ) but Soren and Dan throughout the series have done the same thing at times ( Like eating something at the same time, or even saying the same thing at the same time ) Soren picks on Dan multiple times throughout the videos on being weird while Soren is basically the "Awesome" guy. Dan takes notes and studies for everything, studying up online and making flashcards while Soren is cool and relaxed, adding his input and opinions as the conversation progresses. All though this is a theory, I thought it would be a cool theory to share. :)

    1:40 Dan, you just countered your own argument. If they aren't eating more or faster than any other animals, than that means they aren't eating an insane amount. They're eating either the same amount that they naturally would (and there is a limit to the number of dino's on the island) or they've been modified to not need to eat as much

    yo what if there isn't ust a trex on the boat. the trex is in the lower compartment but what if they brought over another scary smaller, smarter dino one ina cage on the upper deck, a raptor. a raptor is perfect easy size and prpably had it tranquerlised and woke up and killed all the crew, smart enought to get in and around the boats doors and when crashing into the dock got spooked and saw ton of people rushing the boat jump ship swam for it. it can make sense too, a lone raptor could make it in the wild using drains or the coast line to run quicky out of the city to the counrty where it could lived freely. Prehaps one day running into another raptor in the world with a blue streek along its neck and mating with it.

    Actually, exporting dino-doodoo could be big business. You could export it as high end fertilizer for corporate duche bags. ijs...

    As a 7 year old geek when this franchise started, I knew they hella fucked up on which dinos were around at the same time...or even in the Jurassic...or that a T-Rex was not a motion sensitive camera with massive jaws. Is that sad cuz I'm an ubernerd or cuz a small child poked holes in the damn plot 25 mins in then fell asleep in the theater? Possibly both?

      In the book the corporation that created the park wasn't interested In the real Jurassic age or the time line they just wanted the most marketable dinosaurs.

      I knind knew the ages were off too, but I figured "jurrasic park" was just a catchy name the marketing department came up with. Who really cares about the ages?

      Joe Smith That's worse. I remember an article about the huge differences in the movies and book. I know that's not unusual cuz Hollywood thinks we're all idiots with short attention spans. Still 90 seconds of throw away dialogue could have explained that. And most of these plot holes come to think of it.

    Listening after the Jurassic World movies, I think the writers and producers listened to this...
