I’ve never flown into Long Beach before. I loved the great views of the L.A area; the mountains, the haze, the buildings, the traffic, the freeways, and the palm trees. I love it all,.
My friend and her husband live near along Beach, that’s the airport when they go out on a trip. I grew up closer to LAX but any airport in Southern California, this is what you see when taking off or landing. I’ve see the amazing views up in the air since I was a kid and it was so exciting to go on the plane. My parents dressed up and she made sure my brothers and I were dressed up. The only thing that makes me nervous is flying to Hawaii over the ocean for five hours but when my husband and I see the Hawaiian islands, it’s all worth it. 😁… I’ve driven on that freeway, the I-405, many times and we can see the planes fly over, they look too close! Lol
I live in Long Beach and I watch them land quite often. I used to fly with the Air Force and I really miss it. I see there was a little snow on Mt. Baldy... (Where my girlfriend and I had our first kiss!). BIG Thanks for sharing!!
This was surprisingly enjoyable! Surprising only because it is such a simple video, with no narration. But I live just a few miles from Long Beach, and I'm a pilot, and I have done a lot of flying in this area, so it's fun to identify as many landmarks as I can. I believe this video starts just near Ontario airport? Anyway, I also love flying as a passenger, and love the sounds, like the cabin announcements. Beautiful day to fly, too!
I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend. You summed up my channel pretty well. I aim for my videos to be as high quality and pure as possible. No distractions, narration, music, etc. I aim for my videos to be the next best thing compared to you actually being on the flight with me. So I'm glad aspects of that are coming across. The airport ye can see briefly at the beginning is San Bernardino International Airport.
Same location my neighbor rode his recliner up into the sky to 18000 feet with helium balloons attached. I saw him do it 2 other times the 3rd time he was caught it made world news. Aircraft approaching lax and other airports were announcing thèy saw a man sitting in a recliner chair at FL 140
Lovely captured camera work and stunning footage views ! .. another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation travel trip reports and thanks again from Montreal QC Canada ! ..
I saw my mom’s doctor’s office during landing(Optum Airport Plaza). We live maybe 1 mile from LB airport. It is 12:37am November 25. She has a doctors appointment, well, today at 3:40pm. I often see Southwest landing and taking off taking my mom to her many Drs appointments. She is 84. Interesting video. Thanks
I was watching The Wrong Mr. Right and now, I'm watching your Super-Amazing video footage of coming into LGB. When a Lifetime movie has Rib Hillis in it, you know he'll be the Bad Guy and when Krista Allen is the heroine, you know she'll choose the wrong man to date. But anyone, love these views. Love the mountain views of So-Cal.
We flew to Maui from LGB last week on Hawaiian Airlines. Much easier than dealing with the hassle at LAX and cheaper than flying out of SNA. The flight back is a straight in approach which saves time maneuvering around to get on final
I live within 7 miles of SNA. I worked at SNA for several years. But when I'm flying, it's always from LGB. It is so much easier to find parking, check in, and go through security at LGB than SNA!
It never fails to amaze me how "skeletal" (for want of a better term) modern jet wings are. When those flaps are deployed I almost wonder how it all holds together.
MSFS does have great graphics now. It's really amazing how far flight sims have come. And yes, I do have an awesome computer, although it's an iMac and I don't have any flight sims installed on it. This video, along with all the others on my channel, are from the even more realistic Real Life Simulator 2024. Thankfully this version runs much smoother than the 2020 version. It had some major virus that really impacted my ability to travel and film new flights 🤣. You know... Now that you mention it, it'd probably be a lot cheaper for me to just use a flight sim, instead of taking all of these flights in real 🤣. Thanks for watching my friend.
Hey mate nice to see you back home hope you enjoyed your short stay in Auss what did you think of your REX experience,i drove a bus at Adelaide airport for 3 yrs running passengers out to the SAABs as people werent allowed to walk on the apron area (safety).i had a lot of interaction with the pilots they were very nice approachable guys and girls the FA,s were also the best hope they looked after you Cheers kym Adelaide
I liked Rex. It's too bad they're going through the wringer right now. I can see how it would've been a great alternative to Qantas or Jetstar to have them also operating on some of those larger routes with their 737's. People complain about not having options here in the US sometimes, but boy you guys really don't have many options down there. One of the reasons I picked Rex for my flights in Australia was because Qantas was SO expensive. Like Qantas wanted more for a RT to Melbourne and back than Emirates wanted for the RT to Christchurch and back haha. I hope Rex can exit administration in a better financial position and they can continue to operate. I know a lot of regional communities really rely on them.
@sla31 Interesting observation from a bloke like who is travelling all the time, yes Qantas can be very expensive,so to is Virgin ,Rex is very important to Rural Australia, they do what we call a milk run leg through the Qeensland out back its around 6 stops at small Rural strips they are subsidised by the Federal government. But i dont believe we have population to support another major Airline ,and i believe our operating costs are much higher due to wages and fuel and Qantas and Virgin and Jetstar block any new comers can you believe Qantas and Virgin hold 92% of the terminal spots around Australia, but i believe it all hinges on population 37million Aussies,i believe 360million Americans and hundreds of major locations to fly to,i mean compare the size of your regional carriers to our Rex,as you know Qatar are trying to buy a 25% stake in Virgin Qantas is saying no to this deal,i think my worry is if Qatar get involved Qantas our only national carrier could fail, and this country has lost to many national Icon business,s people moaning about we need cheaper seats need to remember when Australians are traped in overseas country,s like covid era who went and got them yes the crews were volunteer,s paid naturally but Qantas to the rescue ,Sorry ill get of my soap box im just very passionate supporter of the flying Kangaroo,im equally supportive of your Boeing i pray the new guy Kelly can get them going again we need our icon manufacturers ,im a proud supporter of both companies Cheers Kym Adelaide
Then you must not have actually watched the video because the weather was perfect during this approach and it gave incredible views of the entire LA area. Try opening your eyes next time for the best viewing experience.
I've done that flight a couple of times now. Once on Southwest's Hawaii themed plane, Imua One. LGB is always preferred over LAX if you ask me. It's the best SoCal airport IMO.
How is this stunning? It’s just a video of a 737 landing. Who is this country has not experienced this? I am not being sarcastic but this was not stunning but very routine.
You know, it wasn't that long ago in the grand scheme of things that we as a civilization took to the skies... Our ancestors, just a few generations ago, would've marveled and been in awe of the sights and views you can see routinely out of an airplane window today. Yes, this is just a routine thing today, but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful or stunning to watch. The beautiful natural scenery giving way to the sprawling manmade urban landscape, with perfect weather and near unlimited visibility. All seen from the window of a metal tube being propelled through the air at hundreds of miles per hour by dinosaur juice... Like, I get it if it's not your thing. I don't get angry or upset if people don't like my content. I get that it's not for everyone. But, I at least hope you can see how it could be described as that. Routine doesn't have to equal boring or dull. I've flown over a million miles on over 1,200 flights and I still think flights like this are... Stunning. And you'd be surprised... I live in Southeast Kansas. Spent most of my life living here. And the majority of people I live around have never been on an airplane. My parents next door neighbor has never even been to any other Staes than Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. They've never been more than a couple hours drive away from where they've lived their whole life and they're in their 60's. I'd hazard a guess and say there's a much more sizable percentage of the population than you think that has never experienced this. So anyway, if this isn't your thing then that's fine. I won't be upset if you don't subscribe or watch more of my videos. But that's the great thing about TH-cam... There's something for everyone. Thanks for watching my friend. Remember, routine doesn't have to equal boring or dull.

Nicely done mate 👌
Thanks for sharing
Love this! I used to live in Long Beach. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend! Thanks for watching!
wow, we lived in Lakewood, just a hop-skip-jump to LGB
Flying on Southwest from Long beach to Phoenix as I am watching this video. Perfect timing!❤❤❤
I hope you had a great flight my friend!
Excellent work...keeping the camera rolling. Perfect day. As a pilot and lifelong resident of Orange County, I thorough enjoyed! I just subscribed!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! There's certainly plenty of content for you to browse through on my channel. Thanks for subscribing!
Watching the flaps extend and change during the landing is my fav thing about flying….cool video!!!
Thanks my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I know, right?!?! Me too!!! Window seats (especially by the wings) are THE best!!!
Im a Pilot, and I agree..

This flight path runs directly over my neighborhood. I live on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa.

I was born and raised a stones throw away from the airport. Left for the military Jan 1968....nice view from the air......thanks 4 sharing
Glad you enjoyed it my friend. Thank you for your service!
Beautiful
👍 - Tks that was a sunny one - never been to Long Beach.
We flew to Maui from LGB last week on Hawaiian Airlines. Much easier than dealing with the hassle at LAX and cheaper than flying out of SNA. The flight back is a straight in approach which saves time maneuvering around to get on final
LGB is definitely my favorite SoCal airport. Thanks or watching!
Nice landing SP good job 👍
Lots of love from INDIA 🇮🇳♥️
Skylite Production . I hope you intercept more Southwest Special Liveries. I also hope you do another SBA trip report on Southwest
They just need to send the ones I'm looking for to Tulsa haha.
I flew out of TOA. I often flew to Catalina Island and had to fly through LGB airspace. Controllers were always easy to work with.
we spent a lot of time at Catalina on grampas boat 1950-60's it was a blast
Fabulous work m8
Thanks my friend!
Ah yes, the butter landing.
Like butter

LGB is easily my favorite SoCal airport. I try to fly through there as much as possible when needing to go to the area. Thanks for watching my friend!

Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 has great graphics now. You must have an amazing PC. 😁👍 You flew right by our house in OC.

Great fly! Do you know the song called "Daydream Believer" by The Monkees?
Yes, I'm familiar with that song. Can't say I've heard it in awhile, but I do know it.
I missed the stunning part.
Then you must not have actually watched the video because the weather was perfect during this approach and it gave incredible views of the entire LA area. Try opening your eyes next time for the best viewing experience.
LGB to HNL on Southwest. Beats LAX.
Ohh wow I didn’t know that was a thing
I've done that flight a couple of times now. Once on Southwest's Hawaii themed plane, Imua One. LGB is always preferred over LAX if you ask me. It's the best SoCal airport IMO.
Heck yeah. I hate flying into or out of LAX. And not just because I live right next to LGB. Traffic is horrible at LAX.
Very convenient for us. We live 5 miles east of the airport roughly.

I've been in a coma for eleven years, and everything, including this video is brand new, so to speak. I'd actually love being taken to court over it.
wah wah shut up man
