I’m pretty sure usually people say that you have to get the item or a shirt wet first before you put the dye so it actually soaks in instead of rolling off
hers came out so good! I was kind of worried it was gonna be too brown and not tan but it actually came out the color I imagined in my head. great job guys!
Made a really cool fleece blanket for my niece with blue and red using a traditional tie dye method, wash and rinse then sit in doda ash, 48 hours in seran wrap after the rinse the red and blue faded to a beautiful purple and pink and kept all details of tie dye look, highly recommend trying it
Right, you want to wash it and leave it wet (or wet it again when you are ready to tie-dye it) because most new shirts will have "sizing" on them to make them hang better in the store and resist stains. The sizing also makes the dye roll off. If it's a shirt you've had for a while, still wash it because fabric softener can do the same thing. ;)
What specific colour did andres use? Im using rit polyester dye to dye a dress for a gender reveal and i really really love that blue but canna find a royal blue.
That’s what rinsing it with cold water before running it through the washing machine is for! If you put the pieces in the washer without rinsing the excess dye out, that excess dye can pool in the washer and get all over the parts you wanted to leave white. So rinse first, then wash! Also, be careful what you set the shirts on after washing. They can bleed when they are still wet (but they won’t do it once you’ve worn and washed them a few times)
Please Note... Use All-Purpose Rit Dye on: 100% Cotton, Wool, Nylon Use Synthetic DyeaMore Rit Dye: 100% Polyester, Polyester/Cotton Blends, Acrylic, and Acetate. Follow directions on Rit page to learn how to do it. Follow to a T. Wash with LIKE COLORS ONLY!

Yes try it! Let us know how it turned out 😬
Made me wanna do this with my boyfriend,

Do it!!
Those turned out really cute! Idk if y'all did it or not but if you wet the shirt a little first the dye shouldn't bead up as much 😊
Thank you!! We’ll definitely try that next time! 🥰

You're supposed to dampen the shirt first. Fun stuff
The cold water keeps it from going into the white areas
Yes!

Hi! Do you have any tips on how to make the white spots stay white during the wash?
When we washed them the white spots didn’t get any color on them but I think what helps is to wash the shirt with really cold water after
“Shock it? This ain’t chicken girl” lol super creative you guys!!!
😂😂
Y'all are so cute
We're Bats!!!!!!!
Did you wash your tops separately or together please?
Together and they still came out good!
Did you wear before you washed them? Or just after you dried in the microwave?
This is cool
🫶🏼🫶🏼
We can wear Gold and Silver too.
Super cute! Does it bleed when you wash it ??
Opal Rhue Nope it didn’t bleed at all! It was super easy to do so I definitely recommend ☺️

Beautiful
Did you guys really put your shirts in the microwave? For how long?
Yes for thirty seconds
😍
The dye is bouncing off because you guys didn’t pre wash the shirts
Brooke Alysia
And made sure that the shirts aren’t dry. Meaning you have to have the shirts damp.
Cause we're Cold Bats.
So no salt?
The shirts look awesome btw!
We didn’t use any! Thank you!!
Aren’t they supposed to be wet? I’m confused lol
We didn’t wet them beforehand, but didn’t have any issues with bleeding once washed or color fading!
This is a great video of things not to do when you Tie-Dye.
So sorry we didn’t help! Have a great day!
