I live in the region of England where the legend of Black Shuck originated, actually about 20 minutes at most drive away from the church that the creature attacked in the legends. As such I grew up hearing tales of the legend of the “Black Shuck” - an infernal hellhound that acts as an omen of death and doom and stalks the moors and marshlands of Suffolk . Fun fact: There are actually large, scorched claw marks on the door of the church - referred to locally as “The Devil’s Fingerprints”. Another fun fact: “The Grim” from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was based on the cryptid. One last fact: There are actually different variations on the interpretations of the legend, some interpret the creature as being the embodiment of death itself, others also interpret it as not having two glowing red eyes but rather one large red eye that covers almost its entire face - like a cyclops of sorts. Also, some depict the entity not so much as an evil, malevolent omen of death but rather when it appears to people it is actually attempting to warn them of impending doom or catastrophe. It’s cool that a folkloric creature from my region, one that is legendary in the area but not very well known outside it being made an SCP. It’s an extremely interesting and mysterious legend to read about and if you’re into cryptozoology it’s definitely one worth looking into.
Was looking forward to seeing your animation and take on SCP-023 for a while, I was very happy to see this in my feed! Enjoyed it! One of my favourite SCPs.
The idea that the foundation killed a family in an attempt to deprive the entity of victims is extremely reminiscent of early scp. I think now they would bring the family into foundation containment until the time came

Have you ever thought about doing the Pitch Haven SCPs? You’ve already done the big two: The Furies and the pocket dimension in Las Vegas. Could result in a bonus compilation video too.
When the legends say their is a hellhound out on the loose. The smart thing to do is simple: don't look. Curl up into a ball. A don't open up til morn. And NEVER give them glass eyes. They have glaring consequences.
Also going off folklore, it would only make sense that it could step on church ground if the place had been defiled, which may explain why it killed everyone in the church. The crossroads is in reference to Hell as well.
