Used to work for SVP (aka Singer). I have the little black machine. Yes, it was marketed for kids. It didn’t take a bobbin, but when threaded properly (above and below) it did a good quality chain stitch. It works the thread on both sides of the fabric. What I haven’t seen before is that case - ooohhh, I’d love to have that! What even increases my temptation more is that I live about an hour’s drive from Cleveland! Thanks for sharing this! If nothing else, I have to see this shop!
Sharing that day with your baby who's having a baby is so precious :) How fun for you! Your daughter will remember this day always. Love a good walk through an antique shop and coming out having showed great restraint !!
Guitar Mania was an event that decorated the city with 100 specially painted fiberglass guitars. Artists painted the guitars, they were displayed, then later auctioned to benefit charities. A classmate, George Kocar, with quite a published art career, did one of my favorites. ❤
I think I could spend a week in that shop and I don’t usually go to thrift stores although I consider that store a vintage store. Incredible! Very well organized.
What a fantastic day you two had. Thanks so much for sharing it with us Miss Tracy. I am so with you being “overwhelmed” in a store like that. Too many things to look at…I have the same exact problem..this is why I don’t go garage sale shopping by myself. I can’t focus on any one item when everything is mixed together. The fabric and vintage items in that store was unbelievable. So fun. Grandbabies just make the world right again. 😌 Have a wonderful weekend. 🤗🤗
What an awesome shop!! So full of fascinating goodies too🎉🎉 Hope you get to go back for a full day or 2 of shopping Tracy. I’m sure you will come out with some great treasures. Congrats to sweet Jessica and baby girl on the way! I remember the first time I heard my first Grandchild’s heartbeat💕 It almost brought me to my knees!! Such a precious memory stored up in our hearts FOREVER♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
My oldest daughter is pregnant with our 15 th grandchild?" We have not had a baby in family for 4 years! So needless to say all baby girl fabric and patterns, ribbon have once again made it back to sewing room? Can you see I’m a little excited!😂 I’m having knee replacement surgery 🩼 🩼👩🏼🦽➡️❤ in October, baby due before ❤Christmas! So I’m whipping out baby layette like a crazy Grandmama!👵🏻😍
Hi Tracy, wow what a store. I had a pair of the rainbow sheets on my bed as a teenager. Those would be about 50 years old. I had the exact same black Barbie case. Wishing your daughter well with the baby.
Oh I love that your daughter Jessica let you share that precious moment with us. To hear your grand babies heart beat for the first time is just amazing. The Lord is amazing, isn’t that right! I have 3 children & 8 grand babies…I am still in aww of our Lord. It amazes me every time. What a blessing Tracy! Thank you for sharing that moment with us too. Now that store was unreal! I am a bit like you in that sometimes …wall to wall…even absolutely wonderful is too much for me. I would have to take a break literally! 🤣 I know after the fabric, I would have headed straight to the 70’s clothes! My style of choice! WILD! 🤫🤭😂
Thank you Tracy for sharing this store on your channel. My mom and I went to Sweet Lorain’s today. I agree it's overwhelming. They are packed to the gills with stuff but they are very organized with everything. The only downside about this store is that there are no public restrooms. We found out the hard way and was told to drive down to the library to use their restroom.
Walk down memory lane when you pulled out that green/yellow sheet set, I had that same set. Loved this video, I was missing your videos at that goodwill.
I would definitely call this an antique store, not a thrift store. glad you had a great time! I live on the east side of Cleveland so I definitely will be checking the store out.
I definitely shut down when I am overwhelmed! I had the same experience at a place in Huntsville Alabama ,not to far from where I live! But I didn’t buy anything! But I have dreamed about all the things I could bought and used in quilt making! I will go back!
Wow! I wish I had known about that place when I was in Cleveland last year. Overwhelming for sure!!! There’s a similar place in Lancaster PA. Saw a LOT of cool stuff there too!
Volunteers of America in North Olmsted is inexpensive and huge and has tons of stuff, a fair amount if it is good to great. Their jewelry was amazing. When I lived in the Cleveland area, that was my go-to. Cleveland is a wonderful town for arts and culture. I really enjoyed living there. This is more of an antique store. Not a thrift store.
I will be getting my only daughter to go there with me... She will love the antique clothes!! Thanks for the heads up. How can I live in this area my entire life and not know that place existed!
Wow. Are you going to return later? I don't travel well anymore. I would be worn out by the time I reached the store. I'll be 76 years old next week. My go go days are over.
OMG I would have spent morning to night looking in there. lol Those patterns! I would have got me a chair and went through everyone of them..lol Im a tailor so I collect vintage patterns. Ive never been to Cleveland which is crazy because Im from outside Cincinnati. Me and hubby may have to do a weekend trip to Sweet Lorains..lol Congrats on the upcoming grandchild. 💖
Uh oh! I am heading to Cleveland later this summer to visit Dad. We just might have to go to Sweet Lorain's!!! Lots of great stuff there. Congratulations on your new granddaughter 😊
thank you for sharing all especially the new life that's coming into the world!! please tell me whose charm pack you used in the car quilt where you showed large quilting and machine quilting...I love that fabric!!! I have a first grandbaby coming and want so badly to make that quilt with that fabric ...Please let me know!! xoxo
My Sister-in-law and I always go thrifting when we get to meet up (we unfortunately live 6 hours away from each other) I tell you there are some great thrift stores in Ohio (also in Michigan) It's so much fun. I get the feeling overwhelmed in places with "too many" things - it's even worse when you aren't sure what you are looking for. I have found that taking a break - having a cup of tea/coffee and THEN going back helps. lol The store looks amazing! but a weeeee bit expensive. (for my taste)
I moved to Cleveland from San Francisco and think their prices are way too high. You can tell they don't sell a lot because its so crammed packed, If the prices were more reflective of the income level of this city they would sell a lot more.
* * * That looks more like an Antique Store than a Thrift Store. Not thinking it is a Thrift store at all. It's so organized because each booth is owned by a different person or group and they take care of their individual spaces.. Yeah, very cool indeed! Be careful, you will be hooked on them. lol.. ask me how I know lol
I know exactly what you mean op shops totally overwhelm me I can’t concentrate in there I think it’s to do with my OCD everything crammed in so tight. One of my daughters loves op shopping she used to have days out with my best friend when she was growing up the two of them would just get lost in op shopping heaven, she wore op shop fashion as a teenager it was great she mixed stuff together that her siblings thought were awful or weird until she had it on then it looked so good. We are talking back in the 90s old men’s argyle jumpers, corduroy pants, jersey knit dresses she was very cheap to cloth I can tell you not so much the 3 others lol
Hi tracy! Wow! I'ts a good thing I dont live near Ohio! I'd stay broke all the time! How exciting to be having another grandchild! Congratulations! Some of my grandchildren call me granny! Even when I was in my 40's. My great granddaughter calls me gramma. I never understood the word mimi, but that's what my great granddaughter calls my daughter. My m ok m was Big Mama to my grandchildren and if I had my preference that's what they'd all call me. Guess where I grew up? Just some I teresting trivia!

@@TheSewingChannel I'm in trouble now!
Not a thrift store, but a vintage shop. The difference? The prices.
I sew and I live in Cleveland so I love this video
It’s the prices for me, though a lot of it is a little bit overpriced, especially when the village discount outlet has the same kind of stuff for less
I live in Cleveland thank you for this. I’m gonna stop by.
Blown away that you left there with only 1 item, and I just love that it was for your “patriot husband.” We need more of those!!
That sore seemed very clean. I was impressed that most things were bagged up and organized.
Used to work for SVP (aka Singer). I have the little black machine. Yes, it was marketed for kids. I sewed doll clothes on that machine. There was a clamp so you could attach it to the table. I think my twin sisters got it in the mid 50s.
Such an amazing store! Just WOW! Yes vintage sheets feel soooo good!
Guitar Mania was an event that decorated the city with 100 specially painted fiberglass guitars. Artists painted the guitars, they were displayed, then later auctioned to benefit charities. A classmate, George Kocar, with quite a published art career, did one of my favorites. ❤

That is a great place to shop. How sweet you sharing hearing your granddaughter’s heartbeat with us. She sounds strong and healthy!
I have been here a couple times. It is not a thrift store. It’s a vintage shop and it is pricey. Everything is very organized and neatly displayed.
OMG! I would spend my entire day there. Thanks for sharing. Congrats to you and your daughter too. God Bless!

Wow!! Let's just camp out there for a couple of days. I'm like you I just get too overwhelmed my eyes won't focus. That was an awesome antique store.
What a cool store! What a fun day you had with your beautiful daughter. I love the sound of the baby's heartbeat ❤.
Thanks for the tour and the heartbeat. Very kind of your daughter!
Thank you for sharing such a special day with us Tracy‼️😊💕
I've done that with my daughters...how fun!! Such a miracle - not the thrift sore, but the heartbeat❤.

❤❤ Thanks for sharing your granddaughters heartbeat 💓 💗 so exciting 😊😊. Nice thrift store, lots of stuff.
Seems like an Antique mall not so much a 'thrift store'

All the old quilts & embroidery makes me cry....that's what my kids will do with my stuff when this 72 yr old Gramma dies❣️
Beautiful Day! Love that you got to go hear her heart beat❤
I had a sew magic sewing machine when I was little. That store is awesome.
Sure seems that was pretty pricey stuff though thanks for all you do
What an awesome store and such a beautiful sound of your grand daughters heart beat ❤❤❤from Michigan
I had those rainbow sheets when I was young! Haven’t thought about them in a very long time!

Wow! I’ll have to check it out! I live in Parma Heights….20 min from CLE! Congrats on Baby girl. Waiting on 3rd granddaughter due in January! ❤
Wow! I wish I had known about that place when I was in Cleveland last year. Overwhelming for sure!!! There’s a similar place in Lancaster PA. Saw a LOT of cool stuff there too!
I guess I would really consider this place more of an antique mall than a thrift store. Both are up my alley. May have to make a road trip.
OMG I have that set of yellow leaf on white sheets. NOW I know I'm old if my sheets are vintage! lol
What a fun day. That store is more like an antique store than thrift store. But how fabulous it is.
Volunteers of America in North Olmsted is inexpensive and huge and has tons of stuff, a fair amount if it is good to great. Their jewelry was amazing. Congratulations!! My first grandchild was born early this month! No feeling like this in the world!
I live nearby and this makes me wants to get back to this amazing, crazy shop.
What a treasure trove for us slow stitchers! So much stuff and nicely displayed and packaged. It looked pricey though.
I will be getting my only daughter to go there with me... She will love the antique clothes!! Thanks for the heads up. How can I live in this area my entire life and not know that place existed!
At 2:34 there's a blue carnival glass candy jar exactly like the one my grandmother had. Been looking for one for years.
Great video! Thanks for taking us along!
I would be overwhelmed also. Oh so sweet baby!
I shop better when the stores are not jam packed.
I am a Clevelander and an avid thrifter, so how did I not know about SL? Planning a trip there in a few weeks. Thanks.
OMGOSH….I have been watching you since I started quilting a couple years ago and never knew you were near Cleveland. I live by Sandusky

Pretty excited to know you're from the Cleveland area too! Flower Child on Clifton is fun to wander through as well.
I've totally been there too LOL🤣 Same daughter showed me that store couple years ago🤷🏻♀️🤣

I’m moving back to Ohio this September. I will visit this place one day. My Neice lives in a suburb of Cleveland.

I think I say in the video who made the fabric. I do know though that it is discontinued. It's called "Just my type" by patty young✅

Oh my goodness, our daughter’s bedroom was done in that pastel gingham .
I have the child singers sewing machine, pinkish. It works!
Hey Tracy, what did you think of the prices? Was it just an awesome shop, or were there bargains too? ~Planning-A-Road-Trip 😊
WOW those prices are high there, I"m telling you go to I-76 Antique mall Ravenna, Ohio prices are are sooooo much better then there.
My goodness that bundle, could have made the classic babybag…and was canvas!!..ya don missed out 😅
Thanks for sharing. Loved the video
This is definitely boutique pricing bur wow so beautiful

The pink glass is actually called cranberry glass, and the color is made with gold somehow.
Ooh,going to have to visit that shop! I live in Lake County!
I live in Elyria and never heard of this store!!! My grandson goes to St Eds High School . Per Google maps, Sweet Lorain's is only 10 mins away!
If you want to find great materials and sewing items go to I-76 Antique mall on Lynn rd. Ravanna, Ohio
I moved to Cleveland from San Francisco and think their prices are way too high. You can tell they don't sell a lot because its so crammed packed, If the prices were more reflective of the income level of this city they would sell a lot more.
I did enjoy seeing that awesome shop, but I get motion sickness so it was difficult to watch. Congrats on your beautiful daughter expecting!!
Yes...I was dizzy while filming LOL😂
@@TheSewingChannel love your down to earth teaching!
Many of those small sewing machines are salesperson’s “models” not for children which many assume.

Dear sewing channel lady, did you even interview the owner? This is NOT a consignment shop, the owner buys his inventory.
No I didn't interview. Someone in the store said it was consignment. Thank you for the info✅

I would be in heaven there
Oh wow
This was definitely not thrift store prices
It’s valued at $300
