Mikey, this video was soooo validating. My girlfriend and I went to the Wicked Spoon about a month ago and we were revolted. I thought it might have been an off day but this just proves that the price to quality ratio was just disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Edit: In another video you were in the same parking lot as China Mama, and I will affirm that it is a good spot. Skip Wicked Spoon and go there, the experience was infinitely better.

Hi Mikey! Thanks so much for posting this video and congrats on the new relationship! I actually went to the Wicked Spoon buffet a couple of days ago with a couple of friends, and honestly I wasn’t too happy either. I honestly thought the best part was the dessert (I got that lava cake four times!), and while my friends said that they loved it I just couldn’t bring myself to say that I did. I thought it was because I went to eat at CUT by Wolfgang Puck the night before and I still had high standards, but what you said truly validated my thoughts. Also they had an option of $25 extra to skip the 2.5 hour line? 🤦🏻♀️ I only truly enjoyed it because of the dessert and our waiter was an ANGEL, but I can’t say I really enjoyed the actual ~brunch~ aspect of the buffet.
I'm so glad you're shedding light on the atrocities in China, Mikey. I will always support that. 🙏

I ate at Wicked Spoon about a month ago and I didn't have a good experience either. The savory food was all very dry. You could taste the heat lamps. I can't eat desserts either so I didn't get any saving graces :( I don't frown at food and I left there frowning. I'm loving the Vegas stuff. All these videos are making me want to go back and I've only been away for a week.
It's probably due to the lower traffic. The food isn't moving as fast so they aren't putting out as much and as quickly as they used to, so it ends up sitting there longer and you end up with the typical heat lamp problems.
@@ohnosmoarlulcatz Absolutely right. I work in food service management, I totally sympathize. Unfortunately for the price it feels unacceptable, even if you understand the obstacles they're facing. I had many other buffets in Vegas that didn't suffer as obviously from the lower traffic.
@@pothospathic Definitely. The $50 price tag is very high and is hard to justify, especially when they serve high fat foods that are much worse when they get cold.

The wicked spoon has always been a must stop for me when in Vegas. I have tried going back three times in the last couple of months, and each time the food has been disappointing. Not what it used to be.

I didn’t have a good experience at The Wicked Spoon either. Everything was really mediocre. I think the best thing was their little fried chicken wings and that’s all. Bacchanal is still supreme 😌

In TX there’s a restaurant called “My Lan” that also serves those “crispy” noodles with seafood and veggies that is really great.

The yolk wasn’t remotely close to being runny
overcooked eggs and an untoasted, unbuttered muffin... ihop does a better benedict than this..

That was best part of video. So many are scared too say anything for fear of losing money or access to China. Hollywood is terrifed, and will follow whatever China proclaims. I mean my god look at the disgusting apology video by John Cena for simply saying Taiwian is a independent country. Hollywood is infested with Hypocritical cowards. Mikey is legit and I applaud him for not taking the easy route.
You are the reason why I have started trying other things when I go to restaurants now thank you mike you don't know how much you have enlightening me to expand my horizons and try something new.
The last time I went to Wicked Spoon, I was more excited about their desserts than their actual savory food, etc. LOL.

I tried it too. I liked the frosted ones best. Thought I would like the cocoa pb combo but the frosted was the best for me.

It is theorized that the entire area where the cliff dwellings are located was all water and lush. The waters would have put the dwellings at a more normal level. Things that make you go…hmmmm.

Wicked Spoon is my favorite buffet in Vegas! It's a shame that the quality has gone down that much, especially for that price. You should really try the Oyster Bar at Palace Station. Everything they serve is really good, but you should definitely get the Palace Pan Roast.

Wow ... the Wicked Spoon was going to be one of my spots to hit up when I visit Vegas. But this ... this is sad. The Rona must have hit them really hard, especially if we only saw a handful of chefs running this big buffet. Damn, I feel bad for them.
That was something I am wondering about, how far in advance do they have to prepare some of the savory things just so they can have them on the line in the morning.

Hey Mikey, I know these are your channels, but I would recommend something. Keep your private life private. It's safer for you and her. Plus, you guys don't need the public to know everything about you. That part of your life should be spent between you two and not for others. In the long run, it will be better for the relationship. We're glad someone else had the same experience at the Wicked Spoon as we did.We see all these reviews about this being the best buffet in Vegas (which was why we went) and we were SO let down! We went in 2019 and not even exaggerating, the only things they had on the buffet was angry Mac and cheese, prime rib, ham, pizza, chicken feet, mashed potatoes and bbq bao buns.The mashed potatoes were good, the bao buns were good, the prime rib was ok and Tommy liked the goat cheese pizza. We mostly ate off the meat and cheese board.

The problem is everything has been sitting under heat lamps for hours and nothing is fresh anymore. Probably the turnover is very slow so they are not replacing items and just leaving them there under the heat lamps. Nasty 😠 I wonder where the price of one of these buffets is?

Heat lamps don't make food bland or taste bad. Might cause some dryness issues or texture, but if the flavor is bad, then it was bad when it was fresh, too.
@@turtlepowersf Almost ALL his critiques were about dryness, texture and toughness, so your comment makes no sense. From the tough pork, tough steak, sticky grits and mac and eggs benedict that were no longer runny. The problem was absolutely in the freshness of the products even if some were bland tasting in general.
And it's a breakfast buffet, that means a lot of those stuff were repurposed from the day before. That mac and cheese looks exactly like the mac and cheese you left from dinner the night before.
